Snail Avengers: Assemble, Very Slowly!

Avengers Assemble! I said Avengers Assemble! Oh, I see you are working on it. Don’t hurry on my account. The world is only doomed. Looking at my watch. Nevermind, I’ll just call the X-Men. These Avengers snail amigurumis are adorable. They are just painfully slow.

Hulk smash? No, Hulk slime! You have all of the Avengers here in soft snail form and looking to cute to do battle with anyone. They are the work of Etsy seller Fallen Designs and will cost you $17-$20(USD) each.

They would look pretty amazing on your desk with your other toys. I would love to see this movie, although the running time would be about two minutes and it would end with the villain stomping these heroes into goo – or worse yet, pouring salt on them.

Kirby Amigurumi Doesn’t Suck

Check out this Kirby amigurumi. Isn’t he adorable? Of course he is. Well, when he isn’t kicking your butt in Super Smash Bros. that is. Kirby sucked in that game. Literally. That’s what I like about Kirby. He can suck up his enemies and spit them out. If you are a fan of Kirby, you’ll want to cuddle with this cute little guy.

Solid Snake Amigurumi Will Sneak His Way into Your Heart

We’ve seen an amigurumi of Old Snake before, but I like the young Solid Snake much better than that bitter – but heroic! – old fart. Which is why if I had this amigurumi I would hug it so tightly a ration would come out before I even dropped it.

But since he’s just 5.5″ tall, it’d be easier to squeeze him with one hand than give it a full CQC hug. But look at that awesomely stitched beard. And that mullet! Good thing he doesn’t have a crocheted cigarette or I would’ve given in and bought it, shipping be damned.

Samus Aran Amigurumi Plush is a Ball of Joy

Metroid is one of the best classic games ever. If you are a fan, check out this cute and cuddly amigurumi that PixelBlock created. Experience the softer side of Samus and you can’t help but smile.

For those of you who have been sleeping under a rock for the last 26 years, Samus Aran is the famous intergalactic bounty hunter from Nintendo’s Metroid series, and she was one of maybe a handful of female heroes in video games at the time – not that we knew she was a woman until the end of the game. Now she is all cute and adorable as a handmade amigurumi!

This Samus measures about 3.5″ tall and is hand-crocheted and embellished from an original pattern. She comes complete with a small collectible card and in a handmade themed gift box. It’s a pretty cool find for that Metroid fan on your holiday list. It’s just $25(USD) over on Etsy.

Amigurumi TIE Fighter and AT-AT Crush the Rebel Alliance with Cuteness

It’s my theory that part of the reason the Empire had so much trouble taking down the Rebel Alliance and Jedi was that they just weren’t nice enough. You know what they say “kill ‘em with kindness” and all. Well if I were flying along in an X-Wing or a Snowspeeder, I’d be much more likely to be pulled in close to have a look at them if they looked as cute and cuddly as these.

These amigurumi crocheted TIE fighter and AT-AT are about as darling as Star Wars stuff can get, and sure to charm the pants off of Rogue Leader and Red Five all at once. And yes, I know they’re the same person, but that just sounded good.

These designs were created by Etsy artist Ana of MysteriousCats, who offers them up as patterns for you to crochet yourself, or if you’re lucky, you might find an already assembled one in her shop. The patterns will run you about $8 (USD), while a complete AT-AT sells for about $33. When I think of superheroes, I usually envision large, hulking men or women in tights, capable of taking down the most evil of supervillains. They usually don’t conjure up images of tiny, cuddly knits which are small enough for the cat to swallow.

But the textile artists of Sweden’s Crivens Studio clearly have the latter in their minds. They handmake and sell these miniscule superheroes which measure just about  1″ tall each. Each tiny hero is knit from yarn and the is small enough to let your dolls play with them – assuming you still play with dolls – and your dolls still play with dolls too.

They’re currently available for $25(USD) each in Batman, Superman and Iron Man versions, and if you’re more into zombies than superheroes, there’s a couple of those for sale too.

It’s famous talk show host and ice road trucker Ellen DeGeneres in the crochet form. Why Ellen? Why not? This amigurumi (or crocheted dolls), by amidorable crochet is actually a pretty uncanny resemblance to Ellen. That’s some excellent knitting crocheting (which is apparently not knitting at all-thanks Christine from Explorers in NZ). Closeup of her face:

Even if it wasn’t such a great looking doll, the good thing about doing a comedian is that if it doesn’t look just like them, then it’s “supposed to be funny”. Not a problem here. I like the little TV accessory too. Ok I’m rambling… so paging Portia de Rossi, buy this for your lady (except it’s not for sale, but come on- everything is for sale at the right price, right?) or Ellen, get this knitter..err crocheter- on your show for season 10.
