Netflix is the one limiting its video quality on AT&T and Verizon

Last week as T-Mobile CEO John Legere announced that his company's Binge On program would expand to cover YouTube, he mentioned a strange point: that even the "mobile optimized" 480p Netflix streams T-Mobile offers were higher-res than what you get s...

Bulletproof Baseball Hat: Protects You From Bullets, Not Balls

Bulletsafe

Protect your noggin but look hip while you’re at it with BulletSafe. As its name implies, this baseball cap keeps you safe from bullets. The rest of your face is still exposed, but it protects the back of your head– or at least half of it, anyway. What BulletSafe gives you that other bulletproof gear for your head is discretion, as the embedded ballistic panel is virtually undetectable. And since it looks like a typical baseball cap, would-be assailants will be none the wiser.

Bulletsafe is currently up for funding on Kickstarter, where a minimum pledge of $99 will get you one of your very own.

Sodavalve Makes It Easier to Open Soda Bottles

I’m not picking on women, but I have noticed that the women in my family seem to have no strength in their wrists/hands whatsoever. I can open a bottle of soda easily, but the women in my family have trouble. So I have to open everything. The SodaValve aims to help people open their soda bottles more easily.

SodaValve was invented by Korean designer Injoon Yang. basically, it adds a spinning handle to the top of a plastic soda bottle cap, making it much easier to take it off and put back on. The valves allow the bottles to be stood cap side down so the gas does not leak out and leave you with flat soda.

SodaValve is looking for funding on Indiegogo, and seems like a pretty worthwhile idea – especially for older people with difficulty gripping bottle caps. A pledge of at least $10 will get you a single SodaValve.

The Capping Routine

It is frustrating to misplace the cap of a pen; kinda makes it look handicapped. A sidestep in design is to have a pen with no cap. Taking the old concept a bit further, we have the A-Pen – a pen with an integrated cap. Very simple and very clever!

Flag It: Vittel Refresh Cap Reminds You to Stay Hydrated

Some people can’t live without their phones. Others can’t live without their game consoles. Then there are those who can’t let a minute go by without checking Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. But if there’s one thing each and every person truly can’t live without, it’s water. Zero (or really, really low, so it counts as zero) calories, zero cholesterol, zero sugar, all hydration. That’s H20 in a nutshell.

Unfortunately, some people don’t drink it as often as they should, opting for sugar-filled beverages that will get them on the fast track to diabetes. But then there are those who simply lead busy lives that they forget to drink the recommended eight glasses of water a day. Either that, or they’re extremely forgetful.

So for these people, there’s the Vittel Refresh Cap. Use it like you would a regular cap and screw it back onto the bottle when you’re done taking a swig or two. As you twist, its built-in timer is set and a mini flag goes up to remind you that it’s time to drink again.

When you twist the bottle cap shut after your refreshing sip, a timer begins automatically. Nothing new to do just twist the cap as you used to do but this time utility has been added. The program was launched in France in order to gauge consumers’ reactions and measure their behavioral changes. Initial findings show people drank more water during the day and enjoyed it.

Do you think you’d drink more often with a reminder like this?

Justice Cap Makes Your Face Invisible to Cameras: Vampire Hat

If you have a thing about people taking your picture – whether it’s discretely or with your knowledge – then you might want to get one of these Justice Caps.

Justice CapThey look like your average ball cap, except for the fact that they’ve got a strip of high-powered LEDs on the visor. And it’s this strip of LEDs that makes all the difference, as they virtually black out your face from digital cameras and facial recognition systems. They work best in low-level lighting environments, such as when you’re in a club or outdoors when it’s dark out. That said, they won’t do much for you in broad daylight, although they may still conceal part of your face.

The Justice Cap is available online for $14.99(USD).

Dragon Ball Scouter Cap: Saiyan Glass

Costume specialist Cospa will be selling a Dragon Ball Z Kai cap with a built-in scouter. You can flip the scouter’s lens up and inside the cap when you’re not assessing opponents. Because if you need a scouter to measure a farmer’s power level, you’re just showing that you’re not confident in your own strength.

Aside from its adjustable dorkiness, the cap is also better than ordinary scouters because it makes it appear like you have a six-pack on your head.
