Captain America Shield USB Mini-Fan Won’t Protect You from Bullets

This summer has been way too hot. If only you had a cool personal sized fan to help cool you down. Well, lucky for you, the First Avenger is also the coolest Avenger, thanks to this Captain America 3 USB Fan.

It looks like Captain America’s shield – especially when the blade is spinning. It’s a geeky and good looking fan that will help you beat the heat. Perfect for your cubicle or your desk at home.

Measuring in at just 3.9″ diameter, it isn’t going to cool you down like an air conditioner, but every little bit helps in this heat. Plus, it just looks awesome on your desk. It’s available from Brando for $66(USD).

These Hair Bows are Marvelous for Superhairos

My daughter isn’t a hair bow kind of girl. It’s probably my fault, I’m the one that has got her clothes together since she was tiny, and I’m all Jon Snow when it comes to hair bows. Every now and again we would try to put a bow on her, she would rip it off and run away. She also thinks superheroes are “boring,” so there’s no way I’m getting her to wear these Marvel Hair Bows, it’s like a double whammy for her.

For girls who like superheroes, these bows look pretty cute. They clip to hair and stuff with an alligator clip on the back. They’re available in Spider-Gwen, Deadpool, and Captain America styles. That Captain America bow would be perfect for July 4, but there is no way you can get it in time now. My favorite is the Deadpool bow complete with its tiny crossed katanas.

Each bow will set you back $8.99(USD) at ThinkGeek and they are available now.

Captain America Weights: For When You’re out of Serum

If you think about it, the super soldier serum that turned a wimpy little guy into Captain America is really nothing more than a permanent steroid shot (on steroids). You can’t get your own super serum to avoid the gym like Cap did, but you can build your guns the old-fashioned way by hitting the weights.

You won’t have to use rusty old plain iron plates either, now that you can get these fancy Captain America weights that look like his shield. The workout gear comes from a health and fitness company called Onnit and is part of  their new “Hero Elite Series.”

It takes more than a single design to make a series so we can assume other super hero weights are coming. The plates are offered in 25, 35, and 45 pounds. Iron Man is featured on the company website, so we can assume an Arc reactor weight plate is in the works already.

IMAX’s laser projectors are worth the pricier ticket

I'm no fan of movie theater gimmicks. 3D glasses, giant screens, 4D "sensory experiences," food and drink service have simply never been worth the added ticket prices for me. That was, at least, until I sat down to watch Captain America: Civil War on...

Stark Industries Custom Xbox One Celebrates Civil War

The big movie release this weekend is Captain America: Civil War. I’m a fan of Marvel movies, but I am not a big fan of Captain America as he is played in the films. On the other hand, I am a fan of Iron Man, Spiderman, and some of the other characters in the film. To me this is more of an Iron Man flick with some Cap on the side. I guess Microsoft feels the same way, since they have had some Tony Stark customized Xbox One consoles made to be given away by Xbox France. Guess it wouldn’t makes sense for France to get Captain America consoles anyhow.

stark-industries-1zoom in

The slick looking consoles are white and have Stark Industries badging and an arc reactor on the top of the console. The controller is also customized and has a tiny arc reactor behind the start button. It looks cool, but I’d have rather see them done up in red and gold than white personally.

They are hailed as having been designed by Tony Stark, but I doubt that Robert Downey, Jr. had anything to do with their creation. If you want one, you can enter to win one of the three available by following the rules on Xbox France’s Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram pages.

New Captain America Collectible Figure is the Hero We Need

HTCWCapAmBattle1

With the highly anticipated world premiere of Captain America: Civil War on May 6th, toy manufacturers have released brand new collectable figures – and Steve Rogers is one of the best we’ve seen in a while. Not only can you show your allegiance to Captain America and his team during this upcoming civil war, but you can also display the full range of Cap’s badassery. The 1/6th scale collectable figure comes with Cap’s iconic shield (complete with scratch marks we believe from Black Panther during the forthcoming movie), as well as a slightly updated suit. Even though we’ve seen Steve’s longtime friend Bucky Barnes return to the side of good in the first trailer for Civil War, we have a feeling Cap’s going to need his full bag of tricks to take on Iron Man and his team next month.

Of course, collectable figures aren’t the only awesome Captain America merchandise we’ve seen lately. Along with Cap’s shield as a bedside light, a Captain America mug over at Hot Topic is bound to make your coffee taste that little bit more patriotic – take a look here. That said, there’s only so much ass-kicking some merch can do, as it could be difficult to battle evil with ceramic. Playing as Captain America in an online RPG named Marvel Heroes is probably the closest you’re going to get to having super-soldier powers and a vibranium shield. For those interested, the free game can be played on SevenGames.

Even though the ending of Civil War is still yet to be unveiled (unless you’ve specifically searched for spoilers), we expect that current Captain America actor Chris Evans will scheduled in the two upcoming Avengers movies, titled Infinity War – Part 1 (2018) and Infinity War – Part 2 (2019), so we hope he makes it through Civil War. However, as we’ve seen with Game of Thrones, popular characters sometimes don’t survive it to the end… but all will be revealed come May 6th.

Captain America Xbox One Laptop & Iron Man PS4 Laptop: Console War

Console laptop expert Ed Zarick keeps pushing his modding skills. His latest finished casemods are based on the upcoming Captain America: Civil War. One is a Captain America-themed Xbox One laptop and the other is an Iron Man-themed PlayStation 4 laptop. Ed’s eyes on the other hand seem to be Winter Soldier-themed.

While both laptops look really nice and have layered accents on their lids, Ed mirrored Cap and Tony’s identities in the respective mods. The Xbox One laptop is spartan and has two major practical features. Two of the stars on its front panel double as vents and it has a built-in Hauppage capture card for recording gameplay sessions.

The PS4 laptop on the other hand is flashy and geeked out. Aside from the Iron Man-HUD inspired black and blue front panel, there’s a 10″ Android tablet embedded in the laptop. You can use it to navigate the PS4’s home screen, as a keyboard or as a tablet. But mostly it’s there for style, as evidenced by the Jarvis soundbites that Ed added to it.

As Ed mentioned in the video he’s put up eBay auctions for both console laptops. You can bid for the Captain America Xbook One here and the Iron Man Playbook 4 here. As of this writing there’s about two and a half days to go before the auction ends. Head to Ed’s blog for more on the laptops and his other work.

Captain America: Backpack of Shield

Back in the day, I watched a Captain America TV show and I don’t recall Captain America being cheesy in that show. I’m not a big fan of Steve Rogers in today’s Avengers for some reason, I guess he seems a bit cheesy to me and doesn’t fit with the kick-ass nature of the rest of the team.

If you are a fan of Captain America, perhaps the most important thing you can have is a shield. This particular shield has leather straps to put it on your back and can open its shieldy maul to store away your books and even a laptop.

It measures 18″ in diameter and is 2.5″ deep. The laptop pocket is 13.75″ x 10.75″ x 1.5″. The backpack sells for $49.99 and is available at ThinkGeek now.
