BIM Tools, Virtual Reality And Wearables Safe Construction Workers Lifes
Smarter Safety Basics
Designed for construction job sites, Exo is a system of safety products that takes the guess work out of protection. The collection consists of a hardhat, earmuffs, and respirator – each with a significant safety benefit.
The responsive hard hat is equipped with sensors to monitor heat and exertion levels and prevent dehydration or overexertion that can lead to further injury. The adaptive hearing protector offers noise-cancelling with an assisted cloud-connected companion app to identify and mitigate noises commonly associated with specific types of work. The assistive respirator is designed to help navigate the complexity of protective filters and ensure effective use with alerts for filter replacement and proper sealing.

The Atlas of Benzes
Mercedes Benz is equally well known for it’s construction sector as it is luxury automobiles and the Saviour is no exception! Designed for digging operations, the Mercedes Benz Saviour is aptly named for its effectiveness in preventing cave-ins and protecting those working on excavation. The robust rover’s high clearance makes it capable of traversing rock and rough terrain in construction sites, however, inside the tunnel is where it really shines. Set in place, it’s weighted on one side to anchor the rockfall protection unit which extends out automatically from within the rover’s body. Highly maneuverable and sized perfectly to navigate through tight tunnels, it can easily be moved where protection is needed while retaining features are built.

Clean, Mean, Quiet Machine
Nothing like the sound of dump trucks and bulldozers in the morning! I’m listening to it right now and daydreaming of electric power! The Hidromek Compact City Vehicle is exactly what I and many other urban dwellers would like to see in the near future.
Quiet and clean, it runs purely on electric energy with in-wheel HUB motors and a cutting edge battery that also powers its functional arm. This battery can be interchanged quickly and easily to avoid a pause in work, or it can be plugged in at the end of the work day. As versatile as it is efficient, the design can be fitted with a variety of attachments to bulldoze, landscape, lift and more.

Chinese Construction Workers Have a Bulldozer Beatdown
Ever since watching Stephen King’s Maximum Overdrive and seeing murderous construction equipment trying to kill people, I’ve got a healthy fear of big construction equipment. Apparently, in China, no one gives a crap about tons of construction equipment having a riotous fight in the middle of a street.
A group of Chinese construction workers from rival firms got into a massive fight inside their front-end loaders. One of the vehicles ends up toppled on its side. The part that really gets me is that people are just standing on the sidewalk filming and driving around the fight like nothing.
It doesn’t appear that anyone got hurt, but I bet the owners of the construction firm didn’t find it funny that all this expensive equipment was engaged in something that looks like Robot Wars.

Minimaterials: Like Real Building Materials, Only Mini
Maybe you sometimes fantasize about how cool it would be to play around with bricks, and cinder blocks, and mortar, and just build shit. But then reality sinks in and you see how impractical it would be; what would you even do with the stuff you build? It’s not like you’re ready to commit to making an actual structure… Well, that’s where Minimaterials comes in. They make miniature versions of the big boy materials you can’t play with. Yes, real concrete cinder blocks, real mortar, real wooden pallets. The cinder blocks, for instance, measure 1.3″ x .66″ x .66″, and a 24-pack that comes on a wooden pallet costs all of $15. They even have Jersey Barriers and red bricks for your mini construction needs.

The New Face of Outdoor Furniture
the Israel-based Segment development company combines aluminum with different materials to create a series of unique profiles that enable facade designs that are ever changing and fit perfectly to their client’s vision. One of the many advantages of the segment is the wide variety of profiles that can be used for varying applications. These aluminum profiles are very strong and durable and fit perfectly to withstand outdoor conditions in nearly any climate. As such, they are also great for wet areas and indoor applications. Ideal for use on outdoor kitchens and furniture, these pieces are constructed from modular bodies made of aluminum, 15mm in thickness, combined with other materials like wood, terrazzo, resista and more. Together they provide a strong, durable product that offers complete design freedom.
