Hockey Player vs. Drone

Some people love drones, others hate them. It’s just the way it is. There are safety and privacy issues on one hand and on the other drones are fun to operate, and shoot awesome aerial videos. Steven Stamkos is one of the NHL’s most prolific goal scorers. He also hates drones. In fact, drones have been know to die in his presence.

Stamkos is a great hockey player. He can hit pucks at targets with amazing speed and accuracy. So obviously drones don’t stand a chance against his stick.

When the drone armies come to haul us off into human zoos one day, I’m finding Stamkos. He will keep me safe. Don’t believe me? Check out the video. You want him on your team when the drones gain sentience.

Game On: Air Hockey Salt & Pepper Shakers

Air Hockey Salt & Pepper Shakers

I’m sure your mom taught you not to play with your food or goof around at the dining table. But I don’t think she ever said anything about playing with condiments– specially with the salt and pepper shakers– because play is exactly what the folks behind these uber-fun S&P shakers want you to do, seeing as they’re made in the same shape and form as your typical air hockey pusher.

The added bonus? It comes with a puck so you don’t have to use biscuits or frozen slices of ham to play a round or two.

Air Hockey Salt & Pepper Shakers1The Air Hockey Salt and Pepper Shakers are available online for $14.99.

Star Wars Hockey Goalie Masks by Bauer

bauer star wars hockey masks Star Wars Hockey Goalie Masks by Bauer
Sometimes you have to be a real Jedi to be a goalie in hockey, making saves at lightning fast speeds, sensing where the puck will be before it gets there. With this new line of Star Wars goalie masks from Bauer you can really be a Force in the net. There are five different Star Wars characters to choose from:
yoda hockey mask Star Wars Hockey Goalie Masks by Bauer
Yoda might be small but he’s definitely extremely quick and very agile, especially for his age. Make the save, you will. Save or save not, there is no penalty.
storm trooper hockey mask Star Wars Hockey Goalie Masks by Bauer
Storm Troopers aren’t known for being the best shot, which is probably why they’re sticking to defense here. They’re used to wearing a lot of padded armor and falling down, so perfect for a hockey goalie I guess. (OK, technically these are Shock Troopers from the Clone Wars, but close enough, right?)
boba fett hockey mask Star Wars Hockey Goalie Masks by Bauer
Boba Fett, for those goalkeepers that want to put a bounty on ice skating goons.
luke skywalker hockey mask Star Wars Hockey Goalie Masks by Bauer
The hero, Luke Skywalker. If there’s anyone who can save the day, or just make a bumbling save, it’s Luke. If you wear this mask, you might start off the first period with a little doubt and uncertainty but by overtime, it’s showtime. Shows Luke in battle on the ice planet of Hoth, appropriately enough.
darth vader hockey mask Star Wars Hockey Goalie Masks by Bauer
There’s always a villain. The Darth Vader goalie mask is ideal for those away games. Hey, the fans are going to boo you anyway, why not both look and play the villain. Very powerful.

Each mask has a Lexan EXL polycarbonate shell, a dual density mechanically attached liner with a cloth sweatband and a carbon steel round wire. Han may have shot first but Yoda made the save. Sweet.

Checklight, the head impact indicator from Reebok and mc10 is now on sale for $149.99

At CES 2013, mc10 and Reebok revealed the Checklight, a product built to help protect athletes who play football, hockey and other impact sports. Today, you can purchase one of your very own in men's, women's or children's sizes for $149.99 from Reebok's website. For your money, you get the sensor strip, a skull cap to keep it snug on your noggin and a micro-USB charger to keep it powered up.

For those who've forgotten, the Checklight's a head impact indicator powered by mc10's flexible electronics technology that gives athletes and medical personnel simple, actionable information about impacts to the wearer's head. It's not a concussion detector, per se, but it does provide information about the location, number and intensity of impacts to your dome -- so it's a valuable tool that can help identify those in danger and keep them out of harm's way. Well worth $150, we'd say.
