Bandai Dragon Ball Figme Wish to Evade a Lawsuit

I’m sure there are small companies and individuals that make bootleg Dragon Ball minifigures. The upcoming Figme, on the other hand, are straight outta Bandai. They’re also about the same height as minifigs – around 1.5″ – but I don’t know if their hands and feet are compatible with LEGO pieces.

The Figme or at least, this batch of Figme, consists of Goku, Super Saiyan Goku, Vegeta, Super Saiyan Vegeta, Piccolo, Krillin, Frieza and Cell. They are meant to be blind bagged with gum.

LEGO Star Wars Minifigs in Ship Costumes: A New KanColle

Flickr user Nick Chen aka solscud made a cute collection of Star Wars minifigures wearing their respective vehicles. For instance, Kylo Ren has his command shuttle, Han Solo is wearing the Millennium Falcon and Rey is, well, in the Millennium Falcon, but with the new different radar dish.

Fabric Clothing Make Dressing up LEGO Minifigs a Snap

Korean accessory shop Leese Design is branching out from making iPhone cases with an apparel line for minifigs. Its LEGO Mini Clothes are made of washable fabric and come in a variety of designs. They’re not as detailed as action figure clothes though.

lego_minifigure_fabric_clothes_by_leese_design_10zoom in

Though fabric accessories for minifigs already exist, they’re mainly in the form of capes, so Leese Design does have a niche here. The current designs are more or less generic – student, doctor, fireman etc. – though there are a handful of flashy ones as well. Leese Design says it will release more in the future.

Crazy Arms Alternate LEGO Minifig Arms

LEGO-compatible figure maker Crazy Bricks came up with a way to make minifigs more versatile, opening up a variety of poses. Called Crazy Arms, they add horizontal straight and bent arms to minifigs.

lego_minifig_crazy_arms_by_crazy_bricks_3zoom in

lego_minifig_crazy_arms_by_crazy_bricks_4zoom in

To use Crazy Arms, you first remove a minifig’s torso and insert the Crazy Arms brackets into the holes on its hips. You can then attach the straight or bent arms to the torso. There are separate brackets for each arm, so you can pair one default minfig arm with a Crazy Arm if you wish.

Pledge at least $20 (USD) on Kickstarter to get a set of Crazy Arms. The arms are currently slated to come in five colors, with five more to be made available if Crazy Bricks’ stretch goals are met.

LEGO Star Wars Character Encyclopedia to Include Boba Fett Proto Minifig

I’m not such a super fan of Star Wars today as I was back in the ’80s when I was young. I had all the stuff back then, all the toys, action figures, bedding, and pretty much anything else that had Star Wars on it. If you are still a big fan today, there is still plenty of cool stuff to go around.

boba-fett-2zoom in

One of the things out there now that I didn’t have in the ’80s is LEGO Star Wars. DK Publishing is readying a new edition of the LEGO Star Wars Character Encyclopedia, which includes images of all the minifigs that are in the LEGO Star Wars universe for you to see in one place.

The coolest part is if you buy the encyclopedia, you’ll get an exclusive minifig. Said minifig is Proto Boba Fett.

Apparently, in some of the early test footage, Boba Fett was wearing all white armor. Whatever the reason, the white Fett is pretty awesome and will probably help sell lots of books.

The updated book drops on April 28, 2015 and you can pre-order it over on Amazon now for just under $12(USD).

LEGO UCS SHIELD Helicarrier Will Soon Be Yours to Assemble

Last year we saw a ridiculously complex concept for a LEGO scale model of the SHIELD Helicarrier. Fortunately, LEGO has unveiled its official take on the flying fortress. It’s a manageable kit that comes with many unique parts.

The Helicarrier itself measures 31″ long, and is made of 2,996 pieces, including ones for the control room inside the ship as well as rotors that you can spin by rotating a tiny crank. But you’ll also be able to automate the rotors and even add working lights using LEGO Power Functions parts.

The set also comes with tiny vehicles and an all new set of microfigures, character models that are even smaller than minifigures that scale much better to the ship than minifigs. Speaking of which, the set will also come with minifigures of Nick Fury, Black Widow, Captain America, Hawkeye and Maria Hill and a display stand for all five.

The LEGO UCS SHIELD Helicarrier will be available this March for $350 (USD). You can see more images of the set on The Brick Fan.

LEGO Wonder Woman Invisible Jet is, Well, As You Can See…

…visible. Better than nothing, I suppose. The transparent jet and its heroic pilot are part of item no. 76026 aka the LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Gorilla Grodd Goes Bananas set. Though if you ask me Batman’s Bat-Mech is the one that needs to be invisible. Damn, Bruce.

LEGO Military Minifigs & Accessories: Modern Brick Warfare

Like Citizen Brick, American retailer Modern Brick Warfare offers LEGO minifigs and other LEGO-compatible accessories that the toy company would never officially produce because of its family friendly approach. For its part MBW specializes in military- and combat-themed toys.

I think the minifig’s faces are not as good as the official ones, but the vests and weapons are really nice. Drop by Modern Brick Warfare’s website to check out more of its stock. You can also head to Minifig.cat’s online store, which has other items that are not currently on MBW like samurai and knight accessories.

New LEGO Minecraft Sets Get Official Minifigs

If you are a fan of LEGO and Minecraft, prepare to be thrilled. Images of two new LEGO Minecraft sets have surfaced that are minifig scale. There have been LEGO Minecraft sets in the past, but they were smaller scale and had no minifigs.

minecraft lego 1 620x384magnify

That is all changing with two upcoming sets including The Cave (21113) and The Farm (21114). The Farm is a set up with a sheep, cow, and square jack-o-lanterns. The Cave set appears to be an underground setup with lava, a zombie, and a massive spider.

minecraft lego 2 620x476magnify

Given their blocky similarities, LEGO is the perfect medium for Minecraft play sets. My daughter will be thrilled, as she loves both. I know what Santa will be bringing this year.
