Fan Made Star Wars VII LEGO Millennium Falcon is Definitely Not Garbage

LEGO enthusiast Marshal Banana is a huge fan of Han Solo’s spaceship. So much so that he spent the past year planning, gathering pieces for and building this large and accurate model of the Millennium Falcon based on its appearance in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Marshal’s model is made from about 7,500 LEGO pieces. It weighs about 22 lb. and measures around 32″x 21″x 7″. He didn’t bother recreating all of the ship’s interior because he wanted display it in a flying position, which meant it needed to be as light as possible. That said, he was able to add the cockpit, the gunner’s platform, a functioning ramp and lights for the engines.

As The Brothers Brick notes, this model not only has 50% more parts than the $6,000 (USD) LEGO UCS Millennium Falcon, it’s significantly more polished and detailed too. View more pics of this awesome build over on Flickr.

Cosmos Wooden Spaceship Toy Blocks: Squirrel Space Program

LEGO is still the king of construction toys, but if Huzi gets its way, space aficionados will be able to make beautiful spaceships and heavenly bodies even if they’re not master builders.

cosmos_collection_spaceship_toy_blocks_by_huzi_1zoom in

Huzi’s Cosmos collection features large pieces made of large beech wood with a magnetic locking mechanism. It will launch with five sets: shuttle, rocket, satellite, lander and planet. Like other construction toys, you can mix and match the pieces across sets. That said the parts have few magnetic locks, so don’t expect Cosmos to be as flexible as its competitors.

Pledge at least $150 (USD) on Kickstarter to get all five sets as a reward. You can also get the sets individually from the lower reward tiers.

‘Star Trek’ virtual tour will recreate every deck of the Enterprise

You've probably seen a few attempts at recreating worlds in game engines, but never at this level of detail. Artist Jason B is working on the Enterprise-D Construction Project, an Unreal Engine-based virtual tour that aims to reproduce all 42 deck...

Photoshopped Planes Turned into Kerbal Space Program Ships: Hyperbolic Eccentricity

Redditor Mega_Dunsparce is one of those people who’s so good at a game he’s turned to ridiculous challenges to push his skills. Recently he used his mad chops in Kerbal Space Program to turn hilariously photoshopped airplanes into flying Kerbal spacecraft.

They’ll have you laughing all the way to Eeloo.

I applaud the Kerbal that volunteered to pilot that jet-faced aircraft.

Spaceballs Eagle 5 LEGO Concept is Strangely Attractive

She may not look like much, she’s got secret hyper jets. LEGO Ideas member NvdK has been raising support for over a year now for a LEGO version of Eagle 5, the flying Winnebago from Spaceballs. This is what Yogurt was talking about.

Although it’s not in NvdK’s mockups, he imagines that the ship will come with a minifig of Captain Lone Starr armed with his Schwartz-saber. I wonder if LEGO will approve of that.

Have Snotty beam you down to LEGO Ideas and vote for the Eagle 5 concept. If you’re aligned to the down side of the Schwartz, check out NvdK’s LEGO Spaceball One concept, which naturally comes with two soldiers holding a giant comb.

LEGO Millenium Falcon Interior: LTV Cribs

A group of Singaporean LEGO enthusiasts called Titan Creations built this awesome minifig-scale model of the Millenium Falcon with its interior exposed. The group built it for Legoland Malaysia’s Star Wars Day event.

Kid’s Spaceship Bed Looks Stellar

Some kids are just spoiled. I certainly never had a fancy spaceship bed that comes out of the wall. Some lucky rich kid is going to have a space adventure and I’m jealous.

spaceship_bed_1zoom in

This Spaceship Bed was made by FableBedworks and costs $14,300(USD). For that insane price, you do get a lot of cool stuff. This thing has light effects and the rocket boosters are actually hidden shelves. I say before any kid enjoys this thing, he has to go through intense astronaut training. Let’s see how he likes it after a ride in the vomit-comet or that spinning thing that makes your face all weird with extreme G-forces.

If anyone wants to buy this for a full grown adult, I’m willing to go through the training. I have “The Right Stuff”. Just be prepared to see a grown man cry a lot and poop himself.
