Personalized Pet Stuffed Animals: Stuffed Mini Mes For Man’s Best Friends

Personalized Pet Stuffed Animals

Toy makers make customized stuffed toys that look like you or your loved one. They’ve also started making plush toys based on the doodles and drawings of your tiny tots. Now they’re moving on to the next market in line: pets.

Yep, that’s right: for almost two hundred bucks, you can get a stuffed version aka Cuddle Clone of your canine or feline best friend in all their plush glory. All you have to do is send them a picture of your furry pal and cough up the dough. Wait a while, and your Cuddle Clone will be delivered to your doorstep.

Larger pets (like dogs, cats, and horses) will cost $199, while smaller pets (like rabbits, guinea pigs, and hamsters) will set you back $129.

Budsies Turns Drawings into Plush Toys

When they’re at a particular age, kids love to draw. Whether it’s stick figures or colored drawings, the sky’s the limit when it comes to kids’ imaginations. Wouldn’t it be awesome if you could give them a present that’s truly their own?

Budsies 2zoom in

Budsies is a service that turns children’s artwork into actual plush toys. All you have to do is scan the drawing, place your order, and wait. Your child’s one-of-a-kind, handmade 16″ plush toy will then be delivered in a few weeks (but the waiting time is currently nine weeks since it’s the holiday season.)

Having a customized plush made by Budsies costs $69(USD). If you can’t wait or don’t want to spend that much, then you can always go the DIY route. Now that would make the resulting toy even more meaningful.

Canned Awesomeness: Canned Dragon Meat

Canned Dragon Meat

Canned dragons are mythical creatures that have fascinated people since day one. Now you can give the gift that will fulfill the fantasies of those who are enthralled by these magnificent beasts–after they get over the initial shock, that is–with a tin of Canned Dragon Meat. The can’s label itself looks nasty enough, so the recipient will probably expect the worst.

That and the fact that the can contains nothing but an adorkable plush dragon will more than make up for the initial dread. Each tin of Canned Dragon Meat costs £12.99 (about $23.)

Blobfish Plush: Ziggy of the Sea

ThinkGeek is blackmailing kindhearted people with its blobfish plush. What’s a blobfish? This poor creature was voted the world’s ugliest animal. To make things even more insulting, blobfish are endangered animals and don’t look hideous when in their natural habitat, thousands of feet underwater. That’s like having an alien take the last human to outer space stark naked, then noting that we look like bloated and sunburned corpses.

On the other hand, the voting was conducted by an organization called the Ugly Animal Preservation Society, which raises awareness for unsightly endangered animals. Many people know about pandas, eagles and tigers, but they’re not the only dying animals. With its title, the blobfish now serves as the mascot of its ilk.

Supertoy Talking Teddy Bear: Thunder Buddies for Life!

Talking toys are nothing new, but most toys simply spout off pre-recorded sound bites. Not Supertoy Teddy. He’s a teddy bear that can actually hold a conversation, i.e. it will listen to what you say and respond accordingly. It’s like Siri, but in a stuffed toy.

Supertoy Robotics, the company behind Teddy, also made Jeannie, a voice-activated virtual assistant app for Android. In other words, these guys know a thing or two about natural language user interfaces.

I’m not sure if the toy in the video was actually working or if that exchange was staged. What I do know is that the Supertoy Teddy will work like Siri and Jeannie. And it sounds a whole lot like Ted. When you speak to it, it will connect to several servers that will decipher what you said and send back an appropriate reply. It will supposedly understand 30 languages out of the box. How will it do all of that? According to Supertoy Robotics’ response to backers, you’ll need to place a mobile device inside Teddy to make him work. The device will run Teddy’s app and will be the one to connect to the servers.

The video below, which shows Teddy’s innards, should give us a better idea of how the toy will perform in real life:

Hopefully Supertoy Robotics will give a no-frills demo of the final toy to clear up any confusion and show people what it can really do. But if you’re already sold, pledge about $64 (USD) on Kickstarter to get a Supertoy Teddy as a reward. I wonder if Teddy knows the Thunder Buddy Song.

Pokémon X & Y Starters Stuffed Toys: The Only Time You Can Choose All Three

The release of Pokémon X and Y is still about three months away. But because we live in the age of pre-orders, Banpresto is already dangling plushies of the game’s starter monsters to fans. You don’t have to choose between Chespin, Fennekin and Froakie either, because you can order them as a set. Also because Froakie is the only correct choice.

You can pre-order the 5.11″ plushies from NCSX for about $16 (USD) each or $40 for all three. Animeraro also has the DX edition of the stuffed toys; they’re about 9″ tall and sell for $30 each or $70 for the set.
