Baby Bathtime for Dummies

tubcare_01

The right water temperature is largely subjective depending on the individual, but it’s imperative that parents get it just right when it comes time to give baby a bath. The Tubcare thermometer takes the guesswork out of baby’s bathtime temperature by displaying not only the exact degree, but also indicating whether its too cold, hot or just right with colored LED indicators. Red means the temperature is too high, blue means it’s too cold, and green means it’s good to go! Waterproof and durable, little ones will also love to play with it in the water!

“The temperature induction only takes seconds to send the temperature to the top of the screen.”

But Baby it’s cold outside!

turo_thermometer_1

Google Now, Siri, Cortana, they’re all great. They’ll tell you what time your favorite movie is playing at your nearby theater. They’ll tell you which roads on your way to work are congested with traffic. However although the information they provide is usually highly specific to your location and interests, they don’t provide location specific weather data.

Your AI assistant will tell you the general weather forecast and temperature of the area, usually a city… rather than temperature readings of your immediate surroundings. You may be living near greenery or the coast, making temperatures vary by as much as 3-5°C, or your area may be experiencing rainfall while other parts of the city remain dry and you should be aware of that. The Turo brings that power to you in its incredibly small yet powerful size. Available as two separate units (a temperature sensor and a display), the Turo can be fixed anywhere, even indoors. The display module can be kept separately at a location of your choosing, allowing you to view the temperature with ease. The paired mobile app becomes an extension for the display, giving you temperature readings no matter where you are.

Turo’s philosophy extends towards providing you location specific temperature readings anywhere. The app gathers readings of Turos placed around the world, giving you access to readings in different parts of the city, or different cities. Imagine knowing that the coffee shop you’re headed to is experiencing a slight drizzle, allowing you to prepare in advance. Thanks to the Turo, your day’s now going to be Turiffic!

CKIE Product of the week – Stagg Kettle

stagg_kettle_ckie_1

Good designs get featured on Yanko once, awesome designs get multiple features! The Stagg Kettle was introduced before, but its awesomeness has brought it back, and right into our CKIE store! All you readers who were wowed back then and continue to be wowed by Stagg’s elegantly superb design, can head to the CKIE store and grab yourself this beauty. The kettle’s unusual aesthetic gives it a certain grace and an air of superiority. Matte Black and Chrome remain my favorite finishes (no, I don’t care for Champagne Gold), and you can see why! They complement Stagg’s strangely calming form, while also giving it a powerful character (calming and powerful sound like perfect adjectives for your coffee, don’t they??)

Stagg’s USP however, remains its crown jewel, the thermometer on the lid. A crown perfect for a kettle to rule over others!

A New Way to Weather

wc_01

The Weather Cube introduces an entirely new way of “reading” the weather! Rather than glance at your smartphone, open the newspaper or turn on the TV, this artistic object displays the current weather outside by manipulating water to express conditions. For example, still means sunny, dripping is rainy, a wave symbolizes wind and steam stands for foggy. Additionally, the design displays the current hour/minutes and temperature so you’re always prepared and on time!

This Scarf Thermometer Works, Gives You the Temperature

This scarf with a built-in thermometer seems kind of superfluous. I mean, you already know it’s cold outside. That’s why you are wearing the scarf in the first place. Still, it’s pretty cool that your scarf can tell you the exact temperature.

scarf_thermometer_1zoom in

The thermometer scarf was made by Instructables member caitlinsdad. He wanted an accessory that was both fashionable and practical. He nailed it with this scarf, which measures and displays the current temperature while it keeps your neck warm. It features a temperature sensor and a strip of LEDs that glow incrementally via an Arduino controller.

It’s cool, but what I really need is a scarf that will go outside before I do and come back in and tell me the temperature. That way, I can just give up and go back to bed. It’s too darn cold this time of year.

Child-friendly childcare

Sweet Sensing is a thermometer that means business. Not only is it a visual thermometer, it also syncs with the internet to update you with the latest temperature readings.

Why is that important, you ask? Thermometers today are pretty invasive. Not just that, children don’t usually react well to anything that indicates sickness. Try feeding kids medicines, you’ll know. The Sweet Sensing thermometer is friendly in its approach. It just adheres to the skin and takes a reading. All the data gets transferred to the cloud so the guardian can effectively take good care of their little one.

The Sweet Sensing thermometer was a recipient of the Red Dot Design award for the year 2015.

Take the Guess Work Out of Grilling!

grillalert_01

Set it and forget it! The Grill Alert Bluetooth Thermometer is an app controlled thermometer that sends current and target temperatures to your Bluetooth enabled device up to 150 feet away. It knows the ideal cooking temps for all meats, and allows you to set your own target temps. Once ready, the unit will alert you via voice, vibration, or sound.

Two probes allow you to monitor the doneness of two entrees at once. The probes have high heat resistant silicone handles that double as cord organizers when the product is not being used. There is also a strong magnetic base that allows you to stick the product anywhere on your grill for the perfect viewing angle.
