Putting the E in Vespa

The Vespa Plus ES aims to provide a more economical, ecological solution in the scooter market by introducing all-electric power and other modern enhancements. At first glance it looks largely similar to the iconic petrol-powered designs most of us are familiar with, but a closer look reveals an recessed LED lighting system and removable touch-screen user interface that can be synced externally to monitor and process energy consumption as well as diagnostics. For supplemental power it also features a braking energy recovery system – a feature never before seen on Vespa models let alone other scooters!

The answer according to designers Rotimi Solola & Cait Miklasz, is the delightful Vespa Camera Concept. i love the Vespa design cues and the wonderful outcome. The translation of one typology to another is simply amazing. Kudos!
