Whack-It: A Handle-less Hammer for Hard to Reach Nails

Because nails often need to be driven in hard-to-reach places at inopportune angles, the Whack-It makes it possible thanks to its compact, handle-less design. Made of solid brass, the Whack-It is available in two sizes (1.5″ x .75″ small and 2″ x 1″ large) and is capable of whacking whatever, whenever.

Currently an already-funded Kickstarter project, small Whack-Its cost $22 and large ones $32, with a combo available for $54. That’s a savings of $0 – what a steal! I just bought a whole bunch of them for stocking stuffers this holiday season. I imagine they’ll be perfect for cracking nuts or threatening a relative that starts talking politics at Christmas dinner.

You can either use your own striking force to hit things by swinging the Whack-It or smacking the back of it with something else (I’m thinking a hammer). My wife just suggested I buy one to knock some sense into myself. I think she was kidding. I take that back; I don’t actually think she was kidding; I only hope she was kidding.

3D Printed Nails For All Your Manicuring Needs

sour-razz

As part of our ongoing coverage of everything 3D printed, here are some glue-on nails by NYC artists Sarah C. Awad and Dhemerae Ford. They’re made out of vinyl and are available at their Shapeways store. Shapeways has been around for a while, so it’s not like we’re talking about personal 3D printing here. But it’s entirely conceivable that you could do these yourself at home if you have a printer. For now though, if you like these designs (our eyes are bleeding from not liking them, to be honest, but to each their own…), you’ll have to pay between $35 and $50.

Best Nail Decals Ever
A few weeks ago I was perusing the Renegade Craft Fair and I came across ChaCha Covers. The shop sells nail decals, NOT blankets for your lady parts as I initially thought. They sell nail decals for every occasion. Pizza party? There’s pizza party nails. Jem and the Holograms marathon? ChaCha Covers has got you covered. [...]

This Manicure Is Like Nails On A Chalkboard

Wait, no — it’s like a chalkboard on nails. Literally! This is the Ciaté Chalkboard Manicure. Soon you’ll be able to get your nails did just like this when the kit is released in late April 2013. It includes a black chalkboard base coat, a clear top coat, and 4 chalk pens that come in white, blue, green, and pink. Unfortunately, the kit does NOT come with a chalkboard eraser. How am I supposed to get rid of the inevitable mistakes? I’m not talking about mispellings or calculation errors, I’m talking about nail polish all over my damn cuticles. I got bad motor skills! And the paint fumes certainly don’t help.

The Nail Olympics Is A Real Thing

This week in Rome nail artists from all over the world are competing in the 12th annual Nailympics. I know what you’re thinking and I’m right there with you — not only is there such a thing as Nail Olympics, but there have been eleven of them? Still, the results are ridiculously impressive and definitely worth a look. Not too closely though, someone might lose an eye! The 9 judges choose the best submission from 7 different categories. They base it off of all kinds of criteria like the structure and shape of the nail, application of art, even the model’s cuticles! Damn, that’s tough. Even tougher? Figuring out how these people go to the bathroom, amirite? C’mon you know imrite!

Amazing Hobbit Hole Nail Art & More

This is Hobbit Hole Nail Art by DeviantARTist KayleighOC. It’s made from clay, faux grass, acrylic paints, and nail varnishes. It… looks a little inconvenient. It also looks AMAZIIIING! For real, Kayleigh, it’s so good. I need to know — how did you even make it? Also, how did you manage to wipe your tootay with that hulking mass on your thumb? What?! It’s a valid question. I need answers!

KayleighOC’s got other impressive nail art including a set themed after Gandalf the Grey, Breaking Bad, Labyrinth, Edward Scissorhands, and many others. I’ve included some pics below. Don’t say I never did anything for you!

Breaking Bad Fingernails Make a Meth of Girl’s Fingertips

The season five premiere of Breaking Bad aired last night, and if you watched it then you know that it was as good as it has always been (I won’t spoil it for those of you who still haven’t seen it.) The show is as addictive as the meth that Walter and Jesse make after all. A lot of people like nail artist Kayleigh O’Connor have just recently started watching the show. She caught up fast of course. AND she decorated her fingernails for the season premiere.
Breaking bad nails
Wow, she must really love the show. Her nails all have some of the show’s elements, like the logo and some fake “Blue Sky” meth. Walter White would be so proud.

Watching the entire first four seasons within a short period of time pretty much ruined her work schedule, so she deserves some cool nails.
