Pizza Oven or Party Prop? This quirky Disco Ball Pizza Oven adds Glam and Gluten to your kitchen!

Marcus Cresswell’s mirror-studded Disco Ball Pizza Oven drops the beat while raising the crust!

I’m not sure if I love this oven more than the pizza going inside it, but Cresswell’s disco ball-shaped pizza-maker definitely has my attention. Standing at 5.7 feet tall and measuring 3.6 feet wide, the pizza oven rotates independently on its base like a disco ball would, and comes studded with over 34,000 tiny hand-fitted mirror units that give this oven its signature style. The inside features a stone core with a cordierite cooking base that lets the oven hit temperatures of 400°C (752°F), allowing it to cook a perfect Neapolitan-style pizza in under 90 seconds. Gluten never looked this glamorous!

While most pizza ovens are built for utility, Cresswell’s “Discovens” has an appearance that’s almost jewel-like. The spherical pizza oven stands on a stable platform that also allows it to independently rotate 360°, giving the 34,000 mirrors on its surface a chance to reflect light in unique ways. The disco ball also cooks pizzas, breads, and other sorts of baked dishes in under a few minutes thanks to its ripping-hot temperatures.

The oven features a stone core and comes with a cordierite base that helps it reach temperatures higher than ceramics. Quite like traditional wood-fired ovens seen in Italy and around the world, the ‘Discovens’ can hit high temperatures of 750°F in just under 20 minutes, allowing it to cook pizzas and other breads at incredibly high speeds to develop that beautiful crispy burnt outer crust while the insides still remain incredibly soft and flavorful.

Developed over a period of 3 years, Cresswell’s made 5 prototypes of the Discovens that have gone to their respective patrons and pizzaiolos. The pizza oven comes pre-assembled, and accepts wood as fuel to cook your pizza pie. “A lot of research went into the shape of the stone core oven; for air flow (diameter, length and position of the flue, and size, length and shape of oven mouth, for the best air draw), and ratio of air flow and oven size (using fibonacci sequence) for best functionality,” Cresswell mentions. The oven takes 20-25 minutes to heat up to a working temperature range of 350-400°C, and roughly 4-6 hours to cool down. While the mirrors look incredibly eye-catching, it’s professionally recommended that children stay away from the oven while it’s in use. Each oven also comes with an insulating door for controlled-temperature cooking, letting you slow-cook skillets and steak meals.

Ooni’s electric pizza oven lets you get the perfect New York slice right in your own kitchen

The electric version of Ooni’s wildly successful series of pizza ovens lets you make incredibly authentic New York and Neapolitan-style pizza pies without needing to build a massive brick oven. The Volt 12 is a compact, kitchen-and-outdoor-friendly oven that reaches ripping temperatures of up to 850°F (450°C), allowing you to bake the perfect pizza in under 90 seconds, just like your favorite pizzeria.

The Volt 12 comes with an incredibly sleek powder-coated outer surface, and a triple-paned borosilicate glass door that retains heat within the oven, but gives you a clear picture of what’s inside so you don’t ever accidentally burn your crust. A 13-inch stone on the inside is the perfect size for a nice 12-inch pizza, which you can cook in a variety of styles, thanks to the Volt 12’s intuitive set of controls.

The Volt 12 comes with three knobs, one for timing, another for temperature, and a third to toggle the power between the lower and upper coils. Combined, the three controls give you the ability to make more than just your conventional pizza. The Volt 12 lets you cook other styles too, including thin-crusts, deep-dishes, Detroit-style pizzas, garlic breads, and the occasional focaccia. Heck, you can use the pizza oven to grill veggies, roast steaks, and even make desserts. The Volt 12 heats up to its highest temperatures in under 20 minutes, making it faster than conventional pizza ovens that take time to get to temp, and after 45 minutes of inactivity, the Volt 12 will automatically switch off to help save electricity.

Wood-fired portable outdoor oven with a rotating base + stove is every pizza lover’s dream!

Woodfire pizza’s not just for the pizzaiolo (that’s pizza maker in Italian) anymore and it’s a good thing because the frozen pizza I’ve been eating in quarantine just doesn’t quite hit the spot like Nonno’s homemade pizza. We’ve got QubeStove to thank for both designing and producing their latest portable, 2-in-1 rotating pizza oven, and stove. There’s a lot to cover, so be sure to save some room for s’mores.

QubeStove’s new rotating pizza oven dons a heavy gauge stainless steel coat that shines with all the possibilities of different pizza pies. The heavy gauge stainless steel looks clean and packs a punch, but it also establishes the oven’s long-lasting durability and ability to retain a lot of heat (that’s upwards of 1,000℉). A high-temperature, ceramic glass door both allows users to check on their food without opening the oven and covers the woodfire, inner mechanics. Barbeque in the summer, stay warm in the winter with this grungy 4-in-1 concrete grill

With the onset of autumn, barbeque season is at its peak! But with winter barely around the corner, I’m sure we all want to get our stomach’s worth of grilling done before the cold truly sets in, and it seems like the Brazilian brand Noori has decided to give us a helping hand.  If you’ve been tempted to treat yourself to an updated version of your old BBQ grill, well then hold your horses because Noori’s multipurpose stove, the V01 model will do it all for you. It functions not only as a rocket stove but as a barbeque, pizza oven, and fire pit. From ribs, burgers, hot dogs to wood-fired pizza, the V01 functions as a versatile cooker for all occasions. The inspiration behind the product was to take us to a time when “cooking with fire was at the core of our rituals”.

Contemporary, compact and easily portable the V01 comprises a rounded bullet-like body modeled from heat- resistant refractory concrete. An L-shape enamel pipe transports the fuel through the body of the stove to the grilling surface. The multipurpose stove optimizes the combustion of fuel, allowing us to completely skip out on the unwanted smoke that slithers out during the cooking process. The base consists of wheels, allowing us to easily transport, store and arrange the stove depending on the occasion and the location.  “The goal was to design a product where a ragu, a feijoada, a pasta, a pizza, grilled vegetables, and meat could be prepared,” Eduardo Gayotto, the designer behind Noori added. “We wanted to break with the limitations of a standard barbecue.” And as we can see the featured highlight 0f V01 remains it’s modularity.

Noori can be used as a permaculture vertical ‘Rocket Stove’. The wood-burning stove, aided with its ability to ensure complete fuel combustion, can be used to cook various recipes with diverse cooking utensils such as pans, casseroles and other stovetop dishes.

However, you can amp up your cooking sessions by adding charcoal to the mix or by simply combining wood and charcoal, which transforms the stove into a ‘Churrasqueira’ or a BBQ Grill. A lid with a built-in temperature gauge can be used to prepare smoked food. A blend of different woods can be used to enhance the flavor of the food while it sears on the grate.

Probably my favorite use of the Noori V01 is that it functions as a pizza oven! Traditional wood pizza ovens can be bulky and cumbersome, and not something we can easily place in our homes, hence the portable Noori is sure to be a fan favorite!  It comes along with a Noori pizza disk, which can be used to prepare a pizza in about 4 minutes. You discard the central element and place the pizza disk on the stovetop, which can heat up to 750 degrees Fahrenheit, depending upon how much wood you use as fuel.

And of course last but not the least, it serves as a wood fire pit, warming up even the coldest of days. It can burn both wood and charcoal. The complete refractory body can be used to burn wood, whereas the toned-down version involving only the burner functions as a charcoal burner.

A 4 in 1 grill with good looks and easy portability to fall back upon? I think I know what I for Christmas this year!
