Chewbacca Rug Won’t Rip your Arm out of its Socket

I’ve always liked Chewbacca; he was one of my favorite characters in the original Star Wars films. He did sort of remind me of my aunt’s pomeranian though. If you like Chewie and want a constant reminder of him, check out these Chewbacca rugs.

You can get an 8′ x 4′ wookiee rug for $149.99(USD) and a smaller 6′ x 3′ version for $99.99 at ThinkGeek. Both of the rugs have long brown pile and Chewie’s famous cross-chest bandolier running diagonally across the face.

Critical Hit D20 Rug: Saving Throw Rug

Here’s a great addition for your game room. Made by Middle of Beyond, the Critical Hit rug looks like a 20-sided die. It’s handmade and comes in two sizes: 60″ x 48″ and 30″ x 24″.

Death Star or not, if you have cats, it will just get covered in cat hair until it looks like a Wookie Death Star. And it will wear down after so many passes with the vacuum.

This 6′ x 6′ Death Star rug by Totem Rugs is handmade with some really nice detail. Even so, I’m not sure the price of $3,600 CAD (~$3,353 USD)is justified. It might be better to wait for the Empire to have a going out of business sale. I’ll just save my money and buy more Star Wars toys.

In all seriousness, if you don’t mind a smaller version, they offer a 3′x3′ tufted Death Star rug that’ not nearly as detailed for just $330 CAD (~$307 USD)…

These 18″ x 20″ low-pile rugs are officially being called “mats” so I’m not sure exactly how plush they’ll feel, but at least your floor look much better with Paper Mario and Paper Toad hanging out on them. Both rugs are coming from Japanese collectibles maker FuRyu this April, and you can pre-order now over on NCSX for $18.90(USD) each or $35.90 for the pair.

If so, check out this conceptual Ouija board rug and coffee table from the mind of Dave Delisle of Dave’s Geek Ideas. I bet if you put your feet on that planchet, it will just tell you to vacuum, or complain about rings from your drink glasses because you didn’t use a coaster.

It’s some pretty cool and spooky decor. Just be careful about what kinds of ghosts you talk to. You might make your home the next Amityville Horror house. They wish they had a rug and coffee table this cool in that house. Maybe that’s why it was so pissed. Those homeowners were just slobs.

Anyway, maybe one day you can buy this. Sadly, right now it is just a concept.

Starship Enterprise Rug: Feet, the Final Frontier

I just finished a five-year mission to explore strange new worlds, and boy are my feet tired. There’s no better spot to transport your tired toes than to the surface of a Starship Enterprise rug.

This Star Trek inspired rug features a large image of the original NCC-1701 as viewed from above. While it doesn’t run on dilithium crystals, that should help cut down on operating costs. It measures 71.5″ x 39.4″, is made from polyester, and has a non-skid back to keep it sliding around your floor and making you fly across your room at Warp 10.

Tauntaun Skin Rug: They Don’t Smell That Bad on the Outside

Tauntauns make great rugs - great sleeping bags too when you are in the freezing cold of Hoth and don’t care how it’s insides smell. This tauntaun skin rug was designed by Malaki Keller and is 100% awesome.

It was designed as a 1:1 scale version of a tauntaun for Autumn Massey – who came up with the whole idea. Yeah, I knew my living room was missing something, but I was thinking more of an Ewok rug. Now that I see this Tauntaun, I might have to go with that.

It looks nice and soft and you have to love the details. Those horns and eyes are great. Best of all it doesn’t make that annoying Tauntaun sound.
