NASA Apollo 11 Meal Canister: Lunch? I Thought You Said “Launch!”

The Japanese are renowned food segregationists. This is where the Bento box comes from that keeps all your eats separate, yet together. If you like your foods not to touch, and are a fan of the space program, I might have just the ticket for you.

This NASA-inspired lunch box has three food storage containers to keep your lunch or snacks ready to go, and looks like a stack of old mission film canisters. The backside of the canister has an Apollo 11 patch with timestamps 07201969 20:17:40 and 20:17:46. I’m not sure what the times were, but July 20, 1969 was the date when humans first landed on the moon.

Each of the containers has 20 fl. oz. capacity and the box is made of metal. That means no microwaving them or sparks will surely fly. Each bowl is 2.6″ tall and 5.4″ in diameter; it’s 11″ tall when stacked. These would also make great food bowls for your doggo. You can grab the set at ThinkGeek for $24.99.

Aladdin Magic Carpet Rug Flies into Your Wallet and Grabs $70

If you have kids or a fondness for Disney films you probably know that a live-action version of Aladdin is coming later this year. That means kids will be wanting to fly around on magic carpets, and who can blame them. Now they can have a rug that looks just like the magic carpet from the original animated film.

The rug measures 39″ x 70″ and is made from 100% polyester. It has 4-inch yarn tassels on each corner, certain to get slurped up by your vacuum.

The Aladdin Magic Carpet Rug is available to purchase right now at ThinkGeek. It’s not cheap at $69.99, and you should know it doesn’t fly unless your UPS driver goes really fast on his way to deliver it.

Pac-Man Lamp Makes the Waka-Waka-Waka Sound

Pac-Man was the first video game I ever played in the arcade, and I was hooked. If you have a soft spot for our dot-eating pal, ThinkGeek has a cool Pac-Man lamp for your desk or bookshelf. The lamp looks like a cartoonized 3D version of the pizza-shaped dot chomper.

It doesn’t just light up either. When you plug it in, it plays the arcade game start music. It also has 12 different sound effects from the game to take you right back to your quarter-hoarding arcade days. Pac-Man measures 8-inches in diameter and appears to be made out of plastic.

The lamp is brightness adjustable and comes with a remote to control it from across the room. The remote can also trigger all the sounds. ThinkGeek will sell you the Pac-Man Lamp with Sound for $34.99, or you’ll need to insert 140 quarters.

Starry Planet Wall Art Won’t Cost You an Arm and an Ear

I have always liked Van Gogh’s 1889 painting “The Starry Night“. There aren’t many classic paintings of nightscapes, and anyone who loves to look at the stars will like what ThinkGeek has cooked up. It’s called “Starry Planet,” and it has the look and feel of the Van Gogh masterpiece, with a slightly different subject matter.

Rather than stars swirling over the dark city, this one has disproportionate versions of all nine planets from our solar system. Earth is among them, so I’m guessing that swirly spire in the foreground (I’m never sure is a tree or a wilting castle) must mean we’re on another planet. Cool.

The picture measure 20″ w x 16″ h x 3/4″ d, and is on canvas that is stretched on a wood frame. It should be evident at the $19.99 price that this isn’t a painting, but a print on canvas.

1/4-Scale Pac-Man Arcade Machine Needs No Quarters

The very first arcade game I ever played a sit-down console style Pac-Man game at a Pizza Hut, and it was awesome. I fed more quarters into arcade games than I care to admit. If you want some of that ’80s arcade nostalgia in your home or office, check this out.

Numskull Designs‘ picture perfect 1/4 scale Pac-Man arcade cabinet comes complete with the real colors and art from the original machine. The 16.9″ tall mini machine itself is fully playable, and based off the original arcade ROM with all of the colors, sounds, and play you remember.

The cabinet has a 5-inch full-color TFT screen, and there’s a tiny arcade joystick and buttons on the console. Integrated speakers let you hear the wakka-wakka-wakka, and it runs on a rechargeable battery, so you can take it anywhere. The mini Pac-Man machine is being made in a limited edition of 10,000 pieces, and will set you back $179.99 at ThinkGeek.

Numskull plans on offering up Galaga, Ms. Pac-Man, and Galaxian cabinets in 2019, so you start your collection now with Pac-Man.

Constellation Lamp is Perfect for Indoor Astronomers

Do you like stars and constellations, but don’t like being outside at night? Or do you just live in the city, where light pollution makes it impossible to see them? Either way, you need this lamp, which is printed with patterns of well-known constellations.

When you turn on the lamp, the perforated blue shade lets light shine through the constellations, and projects abstract patterns onto your walls. It’s very cool and would be perfect for a geek’s room or a kids room needing a cool nightlight.

The lamp includes a 6W LED bulb and has a pull chain to turn it on and off. The base measures 5″ in diameter, and the shade is 7.25″ in diameter. ThinkGeek has it for $29.99.

Beetlejuice Note Card Set: For the Ghost Host with the Most

Think about classic ’80s flicks and Bettlejuice certainly comes to mind. If you are a Tim Burton fan, and the sort of host who needs note cards to thank people for coming to your ghoulish shindigs, this is the ticket.

The set comes packaged in a box that looks just like the Handbook for the Recently Deceased. Inside the book box, you will find 20 note cards, 20 envelopes, and 20 sticker seals. The set also includes a 192-page ruled journal with a coiled sandworm on the front.

The note cards have five different sayings on them, including “Never trust the living,” “I’m the ghost with the most, babe,” “It’s SHOWTIME!”, “Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice!”, and “Go ahead, make my millennium.”

Get the Beetlejuice note card set at ThinkGeek for $24.99. If the idea seems familiar, that’s because they’re very similar to the Edgar Allen Poe note card set that we talked about not long ago.

Star Trek Captain’s Tea Set Is Perfect for Starfleet Tea Parties

Super Mario Piranha Plant Puppet Doesn’t Shoot Plush Fireballs

If you ever played Super Mario Bros. back in the day, you will remember the sinking feeling of moving through a level only to find a giant fire piranha plant shooting fireballs and set to eat you. If you are a fan of the game and need a new collectible in your life, you can now get this awesome piranha plant puppet.

Rather than ramming your hand up an animal’s bum as you do with most puppets, when you stick your hand up this plant’s pot, you can open and close the month. It’s the perfect way to act out scenes from the Mushroom Kingdom with your Amiibo figurines.

The puppet measures 9-10″ in diameter and 11″ tall. The piranha plant extends 13″ outside the pipe making it 24″ in height at its longest point. You can order one now from ThinkGeek for $39.99, and you should have it in plenty of time for gifting to that Mario fan on your list.

Harry Potter Wrapping Paper Isn’t Just for Wizards

If you have a muggle in your life that is a big Harry Potter fan, here’s the perfect wrapping paper for your Christmas gifts. You’ll pay 15 bucks for two rolls of the stuff though – not exactly cheap when Walmart has five rolls for less than that price.

What Walmart doesn’t have are rolls of paper with the Hogwarts crest or Platform 9 3/4 Hogwarts Express pattern. Neither pattern is overly Christmas themed so if you don’t use it all, it would come in handy for birthdays or other occasions.

Each red and gold roll has 2.7 yards of paper on it; measuring in at 30″ x 96″. Cast a credit card spell and grab some now at ThinkGeek. This is probably better option for most folks than that sausage scented paper.
