Wheels Of The Bus

Ok slight deviation, this time it’s the wheels of a cycle and the value proposition is of course technical! The Charging Clip integrates a battery pack that can harness energy from the moving spokes of a cycle. What you need to do is clip the device to the cycle spoke and let physics and engineering take over. The drill is simple; you ride your bike, tank up the device and then juice your phone. So very easy!

Clip Chic

For the not-so-serious businessman/woman, the Clip Bag playfully borrows its form from a common office item… the binder clip! Constructed of wool felt and aluminum tubing, the bag functions so well you might forget just how clever it is.

Giant Office Binder Clip Purse Looks Like It Should Hold a Very Thick Stack of Papers

Clips. They’re used to hold stuff together, from hair to paper and other stuff in between. Binder clips are most common in an office setting, holding stacks of documents in order so they don’t get mixed up when they’re moved from one department to another.

I might be biased, but I look at women the same way. Often, they can serve as the ‘clip’ of a family or a community, even though they might just be acting on the background. Aptly getting that point across is this giant binder clip purse by designer Peter Bristol.

Binder Clip Bag

Unfortunately, regular folks like you and me can’t get one of these bags yet, because they’re currently not being produced commercially. Peter explains that he’s considering the possibility of mass producing the bags, although nothing’s been set in stone yet.

Binder Clip Bag2

Just to make things clear, the giant binder is only a purse. It doesn’t function as an actual giant binder clip, in case you were already thinking of holding together 1,000 pages of loose paper.

Bird Feeder, Sofas And More…

Polish designer Jan Kochański showcased his studio projects to us and we simply loved his unique take on furniture and product design. I loved the simple yet artistically developed Fiu Fiu bird feeder and the MobiUse – mass use mobile chairs made from paper pulp. Hit the jump to experience some innovative and thought provoking projects.

Designer: Jan Kochański

Clip

Clip is simple, portable and foldable coffee table, made of bended steel tubes and oak wood. The project is combination of minimal structure and maximum functionality. The frame was inspired by a paper clip; table top can serve separately as a tray.

Radar

Radar is a visually attractive alternative for cloth dryers. It is constructed out of bended steel tubes and each part can be rotated separately.

Fiu Fiu

Fiu Fiu is a foldable bird feeder made of PP foil. It can be easily shipped in an A4 envelope and quickly assembled in few moves.

Spring

Spring is a bracelet available in two different sizes and colors (red, grey sparkle). Made with laser sintered nylon or alumide, it features a complex yet charming “spring” shape, suitable for both men and women.

MobiUse

MobiUse is an armchair designed for mass usage. It is made of paper pulp and can be used in and out doors.

Cloud

Cloud is light soft and sensitive and is in constant and slow motion, because of the hot air provided by hairdryer. Cloud is made of delicate foil. The project is about searching for minimal gestures that can define space, and looking for border between interior and exterior.

Knot

The Knot armchair is made of fiberglass rope and synthetic resin. The rope wrapped around solid shape creates chaotic and light structure.

Pufff

This design is a result of experiments with sheet materials. The armchair is formed out of two pieces of PP foam and the biggest challenge was to design a rigid structure out of a relatively soft material.

Cocoon

Cocoon is a hammock made of PP foam and synthetic fabric. The design can transform from open hanging bed into a zipped cozy cocoon.

Create your own binders full of women!

The Eco Clip makes it possible to compose your own notebooks by recycling old drafts, clippings, or any other paper. The innovative design works with various sizes and paper thicknesses by simply folding the sheets at the edge and binding. It’s easy to create journals, doodle-pads, or custom presentations for use at home or the office. More importantly, there’s lest waste by reusing both paper and the plastic binder.

Clip Mouse Concept: Now Why Didn’t I Think of This?

If you’re like me, you loathe the idea of using a trackpad on your laptop. I grew up using mice, and I’m about 1000 times more efficient using a mouse than a trackpad. So whenever I hit the road, I carry a mouse everywhere I go. But one problem with the mouse is where to put it when you carry around your computer. That’s why I love the idea behind the Clip Mouse.

clip mouse 1

The concept for the Clip Mouse was designed by Frank Guo for a design competition being put on by Lite-On, and it’s really a cool idea. Basically, the mouse would be made of a curved material that could be easily clipped onto the edge of an ultrabook or other thin laptop, so you can carry both the computer and the mouse with one hand.

clip mouse 2

Guo envisions a C-shaped mouse that would be easy to grip  and control, offering a touch-based scroll and button capability. The bottom of the mouse would be flat, so it could glide around on a desktop or other even surface, while the inside would be made of a ribbed rubber material, making it safe and easy to clip around your other gadgets.

clip mouse 3

Currently, the Clip Mouse is still in the concept stages, but I’m hoping that somebody decides to make these. I’d definitely buy one if they ever come out.

Mobi Lens Clips onto Just About Any Smartphone or Tablet Camera

Add-on lenses for smartphones are one of the easiest ways of improving your mobile photography. I’ve seen some magnetic lenses, but what happens when your precious phone is hidden away underneath a protective case? Mobi-Lens comes to the rescue with an interesting design for a clip-on lens that will solve your woes.

Mobi-Lens is a clip-on lens system for mobile devices that features a lens on each side. You’ll have access to a fisheye and macro/wide-angle lens depending on which side you favor. While the design isn’t the most elegant, it does seem quite functional and versatile, thanks to its spring-loaded, Chip-Clip style design.

The Mobi-Lens was launched as a Kickstarter crowd-funded project, and you’ll need to pledge at least $30(USD) to get a single lens, and $60 or more for the two lens combo pack.
