This Handmade Taco Belle Dress Is A Real Thing Of Beauty

What happens when you bring together Taco Bell and Beauty and The Beast? Magical things. Fashion designer Olivia Mears crafted up this Taco Belle dress for herself. It’s made out of hand-painted cardstock, tissue paper, felt, and of course Taco Bell wrappers. Unused Taco Bell wrappers, that is. Because who wants to walk around with […]

Tatooine Sunset Maxi Dress is Geek Chic

Normally when I have to talk to my wife about tech stuff, I don’t use fancy tech talk like “router” or “modem.” I’ve learned from experience to just say “the thing in the bedroom with all the blinky lights.” Sadly, my wife doesn’t do the same for me when she talks about clothing.

For instance, she talked about something called a puffer vest for two hours once before I realized we were talking about clothing. Had she said that fluffy jacket with no sleeves, it would have saved me some frustration. I’m not sure what a maxi dress is, but if you told me it’s one of those loose, long dresses you wear in the summer, I’d know what you mean.

That said, ladies and gentlemen, here is a Tatooine Sunset Maxi Dress, which is to say a long, loose summer dress with a picture of Luke Skywalker’s speeder and two Tatooine suns printed on the bottom.

You can get one for $39.99(USD) at ThinkGeek. It’s no Leia gold bikini, but your gal will look hot in it. Ladies, this is the perfect way to turn a geek’s head; just don’t ask him how he likes your maxi dress.

Jaden Smith New Prom Dress is A Skirt

The young actor/rapper apparently considers tuxedos very outdated and wore a completely out of the hook dress which happened to be a white mini skirt withblack skinny pants, a black blazer and black...

It’s Dangerous out There; Take this Ocarina of Time Dress with You

Guys if you ever looked at Zelda in her Ocarina of Time outfit and thought “boy would I” and you happen to have a real woman that likes you, you want to buy her this. This is an Ocarina of Time “fit and flare” dress. I don’t know what fit and flare means, but I assume the guy translation is tight in the bust area and loose in the thigh area.

The dress is printed with the look of Zelda’s dress from the game. It’s made from spandex and polyester, which should ensure a comfy fit, and it’s machine washable.

You can pick up your own version of this dress $39.99(USD) at ThinkGeek. I hear it’s what all the well-dressed kidnap victims will be wearing in Hyrule this year.

This Guy Got a Tattoo of “The Dress”

I don’t know about you, but I am sick of hearing about “The Dress.” Is it gold and white? Is it black and white? Who cares? Apparently a lot of people. I’m just not one of them. Now someone went and got a tattoo of the dress. Sure. Why not?

But what color ink is it? I see blue and black. With lots of leg hair, and little redness and swelling. 24-year-old Texas piercer Daniel Howland got this permanently inked onto his body because he thought the meme was “stupid.” Yeah. That makes sense.

It seems like the dress is here to stay. At least for Daniel it is.

These Dalek Dresses Will Exterminate Gawkers

We’ve seen our share of Dalek dresses. In fact I’m surprised they haven’t taken over the world like the Daleks themselves tend to do. These are a little different than the typical Dalek dresses we are used to seeing.

These screenprinted versions are from Etsy seller Kaotichandbag. They look like they came straight out of the show and possessed these dresses. They are available in both black and gold versions. This would make a neat gift for any female Doctor Who fan.

They will cost you about $100(USD) but they are totally worth it since they are pretty stunning. All eyes will be on you, that’s for sure. And then you can exterminate them.

This Stargate Cosplay is Awesomely Adorable

If you are going to cosplay someone from the Stargate show, you don’t mess around with any of the charcaters. You go straight for the Stargate itself. This costume that looks like a Stargate is as complicated as the real stargate from the show.

It was made by DeviantArt user Nyima-chan because why not? This is one of the neatest, cutest and most inventive cosplays I have seen in a while. She created a detailed stargate dial with the symbols and chevrons that light up. The coolest part is that it is attached to a blue dress so she’s part of the event horizon.

Sadly, while stargates can get you from one place to another, a stargate itself never goes anywhere. That must be very lonely.

Robotic Spider Dress Reacts to Nearby People: Spider-Sense Tingling!

The Spider Dress isn’t as powerful as Peter Parker’s Spider-Sense, but it’s designed to react to potential danger as well. Designed by “technological couture” specialist Anouk Wipprecht, it has six spiky limbs on its shoulders that move based on the wearer’s mood and the movement of people around.

According to Fast Company, the dress is equipped with “wireless biosignals, and aggregates this information with measurements of others’ proximity and speed of approach (it can detect movement up to 22 feet away). The dress changes according to these various data inputs, gauging how the wearer is feeling about the people around her.”

The limbs are normally folded as shown in the image above, but if the dress detects an unwanted presence – someone approaching too fast or someone that the wearer is reacting to adversely –  the limbs will extend outwards in a threatening manner. On the other hand, “if you approach calmly and slowly, these limbs might beckon you forward.”
