PUBG 1:1 Foam Frying Pan Won’t Stop Bullets or Cook Bacon

I’d assume if you found yourself on an island packed with a hundred other people all bent on killing you so they can survive that you would take whatever armor you can get. This is why I have no problem with the infamous bulletproof frying pan that people wear in the game PUBG. I’d wrap myself in tin foil and those nearly unopenable packages they put Slim Jims in if that was all I had.

Cosplayers or PUBG fans that wanting their own frying pan, but don’t want the weight of a real one can get this officially-licensed full-scale (~14″) foam frying pan replica.

Since its made from foam, it weighs practically nothing, but you can’t cook in it or deflect bullets with it, mind you. It also costs $29.99 and you can get a real frying pan for less. But a real one isn’t stamped with that big PUBG logo in the middle, right?

ThinkGeek will be peddling this fake frying pan come the holiday season. You can pre-order yours now so you don’t forget to buy gifts for the game on your list.

Squishy Dice Protect Your Nads from Angry Dungeon Masters

I can recall one game of D&D growing up that got a bit out of hand. The Dungeon Master got mad because we said the game was lame and started to throw dice at us all. A D20 to the gonads is no fun indeed. I think what we needed were these soft dice.

It’s a set of seven that can do just about anything you need in a game of D&D. The set has a d4, d6, d8, d10, d20, and a percentile d10. The dice are made of foam, and seem to be similar to a stress ball from the description. Each is about 2-inches in diameter.

These might be a good way to introduce your little one to D&D. Plus you can use them to determine the percentage chance that your kid can eat ice cream for dinner. The entire 7-die set is $19.99 at ThinkGeek. Now that I think of it, a giant foam die to the nads will probably still hurt, so wear a cup.

Sink-In to This Ultra-Customizable Chair

Don’t you love chairs that you can sink into? Those are the best kind. This chair looks like a bunch of foam bars shoved inside a wood frame, but that is how it works it’s magic.

Those 204 foam bars allow you to adjust things in a wide variety of ways. In fact, it can work as a chair or a desk. This unusual piece of modern furniture was designed by Keren Shiker who calls it the Sink-In. You can turn it around, flip it over, or use it in any direction you need.

Those are some great features. Hopefully it’s comfortable enough to justify the time it takes to arrange it into position. I can’t decide if it looks comfy or not, but with all of those options it is sure to have a configuration that works for everyone.

Calimacil Glowing Foam Lightsaber: There Is No Part of This Blade That Cuts

It may sound like an anti-fungal cream, but Canadian company Calimacil actually specializes in LARP weapons, armor and accessories. The company has recently developed a lightsaber that can emit lights and sounds but is safe to use, thanks in part to the translucent foam that they use for the blade.

The foam lightsaber blades will be available in two types and three tiers. There’s the plasma blade, which is basically the lightsaber you know and love, and the vibro blade, which emits less light and has a secondary non-foam katana blade, similar to the beam katana in No More Heroes.

The tiers start with basic red and blue blades, which don’t have electronic parts:

Then there’s the basic red and blue light up blades, which can’t change color. You can choose between the 14W vibro blades and the 35W plasma blades.

The third and top tier blades have RGB LEDs, so you can change their color and patterns with the help of a mobile app. Once again, you can pick between the 14W RGB vibro blade and the 35W RGB plasma blade.

Calimacil will also release three tiers of hilts, with the decorative details and electronic capabilities improving as you go higher. Note that these hilt designs will be available only to Kickstarter backers. As you’ll see in the table below, you’ll only get sound effects with the top tier Master hilt.

This one gives you a good idea of the blades’ brightness:

Calimacil Lightsaber Night Test

Last time you saw our mobile app. Now it’s time to have some fun testing our lightsabers in the dark. Good thing we have an intensity setting on the app, this saber is bright!

Pledge at least $99 (USD) on Kickstarter to receive the non-light up foam lightsaber as a reward. The single color lightsabers are given for pledges amounting to about $170 or higher, and the RGB lightsabers start can be yours for a pledge of at least about $290.

Scientists make an artificial heart out of foam

Artificial hearts only kinda-sorta behave like the real thing. They pump blood, sure, but they're typically solid blocks of machinery that are out of place in a squishy human body. Cornell University thinks it can do better, though: its scientist...

Blade of the Black Swordsman: Not as Dirty as It Sounds

Blade of the Black Swordsman sounds like some sort of interracial adult movie, but it’s not. It’s actually a really cool black sword made out of foam. With it, you can best your enemies without drawing blood, and having to go to jail/the hospital.

I feel like I am a little out of the loop on this one. Apparently it’s an unlicensed replica of a sword used in a video game, so the video game can’t be mentioned. I might not know what game it’s from, but I am a sucker for foam weapons.

We have been known to have some serious foam dart/sword beat downs around my house. If you’re up for some less-lethal fighting yourself, you can get one for $29.99 at ThinkGeek.
