Reebok x Alien Sneakers: In Space, No One Can Hear Your Footsteps

With the new Alien movie Alien: Covenant headed to theaters in just a couple of weeks, the Alien buzz machine is starting to heat up with all kinds of cool stuff. One of the more awesome things I’ve seen so far are these Reebok sneakers, which are inspired by the big face-off between Ripley and the Alien Queen in Aliens.

The Reebok Alien Stomper “Final Battle” pack features two pairs of awesome patent leather sneakers. The Queen Alien Stompers are done up in black with bright green accents which symbolize her nasty corrosive blood.

The Powerloader Alien Stompers look like Ripley’s power loader exosuit, complete with an industrial yellow leather body, and black stripe and red arrow details. They simply look fantastic.

The set comes packaged in a cool collectible box, which is decorated with artwork from the Aliens universe.

The pack will be available starting on July 18 (presumably in limited quantities) for $325(USD). In the mean time, you can sign up for a chance to win the set on the Reebok website.

Eat Some Pork then Run a Marathon with Reebok Bacon

This clever marketing campaign can be summed up in one sentence. When all else fails, try bacon. More people are getting fit these days, running and exercising. However, these people still love bacon. Reebok wants to give it to them.

Reebok Bacon was launched at last month’s Reebok CrossFit Games in California. The idea is that this meat contains all the protein of you need, but without sweeteners, monosodium glutamate, or nitrates. This product is designed to be a better bacon.

The idea comes from ad agency Venables Bell & Partners. I doubt Reebok will launch the product for real, but it does bring attention to their brand. And besides, bacon.

Reebok Bacon Is A Thing, Now

RBK_LANDING_HERO copy

You wouldn’t normally associate Godly delicious bacon with anything fitness-related, but Reebok begs to differ. At the latest Crossfit games in California, the sports gear brand distributed the above boxes of smoked cured meat, which they felt would fit right in with many of the competitors’ Paleo diets. Yes, Crossfit is all the rage, and so is the Paleo diet, which has its proponents ingesting basic un-processed foods that our ancestors in the Paleolithic era would have eaten. We’re not convinced that cavemen were in the business of curing, smoking, and frying thin strips of concentrated goodness back then, but the fact that this particular bacon contains no sweeteners, no msg, no nitrites or preservatives seems to be reason enough for the company to endorse it. It doesn’t appear to be something you’ll find in shelves anytime soon, but it is a legit Reebok “product”.

Reebok Gundam Instapump Fury: Mobile Shoes

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Instapump Fury, Reebok will be releasing 27 different variants of the lace-less shoes throughout spring and summer. I don’t know why there will be 27 variants and not 20, but I do know that two of those variants are based on the Gundam series.

The first colorway takes after the RX-78-2 aka the OG Gundam. The scheme makes the Instapump Fury look like kid’s shoes, but perhaps the gray part of the upper is more pronounced in person. The second colorway is based on another classic Gundam robot: Char Aznable’s MS-06S Zaku II. I actually like that one better because it’s gaudy, which is exactly the look that a freakin’ Reebok and Gundam mashup should aim for.

According to Milk, the shoes cost HK$1,499 each (~$190 USD). They should be in Reebok retailers soon. I bet Laplace’s Box has one of these inside.
