This Apple device merges AirDrop with an external flash drive for seamless file transferring!

Drop is like your typical flash drive device, except it integrates AirDrop into its operation to be more Apple-friendly.

AirDrop is possibly the most overlooked feature on Apple devices. Everything from entire media libraries to scanned PDFs can be sent from one Apple device to another with the click of a button, cutting out the tedious middle part of file transferring that typically requires multiple emails or extra hardware. Zarruck Taiseer, 3D visualizer and product designer, takes the innovation of AirDrop one step further to create an Apple-inspired file transfer and storage flash drive that can receive file transfers via AirDrop and also hold onto them until they’re ready to be transferred to another device.

Apple devices have their own technical language, so working between two Apple devices is always a walk in the park compared to working between one Apple and another non-Apple device. Incorporating Apple’s design and technical language into his product, Taiseer created Drop to make file transferring and storage between Apple devices even easier. Drop operates as a wireless USB Type C and offline external flash drive and an AirDrop file transfer and Thunderbolt 3 data transfer device. Drop is a standalone Apple-inspired device that operates as a flash drive, storage device, and file transfer cable.

Users can AirDrop files from their iPhones or MacBooks to Drop where the files can be stored or transferred to another, Apple or non-Apple, device. When users have a file they’d like to transfer to and store with Drop, they can AirDrop the file the same way they’d AirDrop media from one iPhone to another. With the file stored on Drop, the user can either keep it for safe storage or plug it into their MacBook’s USB Type C port to open the file on their laptops. Alternatively, users can store files offline using DropDrive, a feature that creates a folder on the user’s iPhone to store media files, where the files remain until Drop is brought back online.

Designer: Zarruck Taiseer

Once the files are received from an Apple device by Drop, users can transfer the files to another device.

Since Drop is an Apple concept, Apple features like FindMy can be used to locate Drop.

The offline external drive feature allows users to send files to a folder on their Apple devices and then send the complete folder to Drop.

This new AirPods Pro case takes on a barrel shape to fit in pockets with your other EDC items!

Antón visualized an AirPods Pro case concept that holds each AirPods Pro in vertical placement, swapping out a rectangular build for a barrel-shaped case.

The new case for AirPods Pros is even wider than the previous generation of AirPods. Wedging that case into your pocket between your keys, wallet, and other EDC items is uncomfortable and makes our pockets too bulky. Iván Antón, a product and graphic designer based in Madrid, recently visualized an AirPods Pro Case concept that gives the case a vertical edge, ditching a wide body for a slim, barrel-shaped one.

The current case for AirPods Pro is about 20mm wider than the AirPods case, a substantial difference that requires a lot more room in our back pockets.  In contrast to the bulkier, horizontal AirPods Pro case, Antón’s concept case would fit nicely into any pocket even if it’s already stuffed with your house keys, wallet, and whatever else. Individual charging lights emanate from both ends of the cylindrical case to accurately indicate how much battery juice each AirPod has. Antón also visualized the AirPods Pro case in a matte black, a shade that we’ve yet to see Apple experiment with on charging cases for AirPods and AirPod Pros.

EDC items like house keys, wallets, lighters, and multi-tools fill our pockets daily. Finding the space to carry our charging cases for AirPods can get difficult considering the little room we do have. 3D visualizer and product designer Iván Antón created an AirPods Pro case that swaps out a bulky, rectangular build for a cylindrical one that can easily slide into the fullest of back pockets.

USB-C hubs + more MacBook Accessories designed to be the best investments of 2021 for Apple lovers!

I honestly cannot do without my MacBook, probably because it is one of my most prized possessions! It contains basically everything I hold important in my life – from work documents to memorable pictures from even ten years ago. And not to mention, I do end up spending most of my day, typing away and working on my MacBook. Since it is such an integral part of my daily and work routine, I’m always looking for ways to elevate my MacBook. I love innovative and nifty gadgets that function as the perfect sidekick to my MacBook, helping me boost up my daily productivity and efficiency. Here, we’ve curated a few of our favorite MacBook accessories that’ll promise to level up your already awesome and beloved MacBook. These are must-have accompaniments to your MacBook, and the best investments of 2021 for Apple lovers!

The HybridDrive is a lot like if your external hard drive and your USB hub had a love-child. Think of it as the one, true, all-powerful accessory to your MacBook or your iPad Pro, or even your Android phone. Armed with a two-piece design that can plug into each other, the HybridDrive is like the Yin and the Yang of computing accessories… the Yin being extra ports, and the Yang being extra storage. Compatible with most USB-C devices, the HybridDrive offsets your need for multiple hubs, dongles, and drives. With a multiport on one end, and an SSD on another, and a USB-C interface connecting the two, the HybridDrive bridges the gap between your portable devices (laptop/tablet/phone) and your desktop – in the sense that it gives you extra ports and expandable storage… something most desktops have in common.

Designed to be portable and compact, HUB–OX initially comes as a lightweight, palm-sized USB-C hub, which splits into two halves, both equipped with plenty of charging slots, HDMI connections, and ethernet ports. HUB–OX is compatible with MacBook Pro models that have four USB-C ports, generally any MacBook Pro from 2016 or any of its succeeding generations. When HUB–OX is split in two, users can plug the USB-C chargers into all four of their MacBook Pro’s ports, lifting their laptops to an angle of 7.7° to keep them charged and at eye level for the rest of the day. Working at our laptops for long periods of time often makes us want to crane our necks and spines to meet our screens. The small hoist HUB–OX gives our MacBook Pros is just enough to keep our necks straight and spines against our chairs. In addition to helping our posture while working, the built-in laptop stand allows for better heat dissipation from our laptops’ heat sinks, keeping our laptops cool and their fans low.

This Leather-crafted MacBook case gives your precious $2,000 machine all the protection it deserves but doesn’t get. The case covers both top and bottom, making sure you don’t end up scratching the beauty (after all, aluminum doesn’t stand a chance against your keys), and even forms a lip around the edges and curves so that accidental drops don’t dent the edges of your machine. The case even doubles up as a stand for your laptop, allowing it to tilt upwards and forwards just a little bit to give you the angle you desire (especially for you standing-desk types).

This Dongle truly empowers iPad Pro users into connecting pretty much anything to their iPad Pros. With one USB-C port at one end, and a WIDE variety of possibilities at the other, the latest dongle lets you connect everything from a LAN cable, to a pair of headphones, to memory cards, to even iPods (Hallelujah!) “With the dongle’s multi-purpose design, there’s something for everyone”, says Jonathan Ive, to which CEO Tim Cook adds, “We believe this is truly the best iPad Pro and MacBook accessory we’ve ever built. We can’t wait to see how the dongle helps users in their day to day tasks”. The dongle even comes with a proprietary cable technology that ensures that the dongle’s multitude of wires don’t get entangled, and is available in a wide variety of colors.

You can now keep your entire collection of Apple products super organized with the Kensington StudioCaddy Apple device storage system. The nifty storage system has designated spots for your MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, Apple Watch, AirPods, and iPhone! It ensures that your devices are always organized, charged, and ready to be used! It helps you maintain a clean and tidy desk, and maximizes your desk space. And it even holds your MacBook in a vertical position. How cool is that?!

The Henge Docks Vertical MacBook Pro Dock holds your MacBook vertically! This helps to make more space on your desk, allowing you to make the utmost use of it and keeping it super organized. Amped with intake and exhaust vents, the dock ensures that your MacBook will not get overheated while standing upright or while being used. This dock is a must for a tidy desk that maximizes productivity!

It’s a shame that the Macbook Pro ditched everyone’s favorite, the light-up Apple logo at the back. It was truly one of the unnecessary yet most loved design details on the laptops (some people even modded their iPhones and iPads to have the glowing logo). Nevertheless, we as a human species have always persevered and in most cases, come up with our own solutions to life’s problems. The Brik Book is one such solution. It ditches the boring metal Macbook back for something more playful. “We don’t stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing” once said the wise George Bernard Shaw, and that’s exactly why we need the Brik Book.

If you want to cover your webcam for safety purposes, then the StopSpy Compact Webcam Cover is the ideal product for you! You can use it to cover the webcam on your MacBook, iPad, or even your iPhone if you like. The super-compact cover is thinner than a credit card and measures 0.3 millimeters. Not to mention, it’s super easy to use and attach to your webcam!

With minimal material and maximal robustness, the Curve SE elevates your laptop 6.5 inches from your desk, allowing your neck to rest at a much more comfortable angle. Made from a single curved piece of anodized aluminum, the Curve SE’s clean design complements your MacBook perfectly although it works universally with all laptops. Silicone grips ensure your expensive machine is held well in place so any accidental nudges don’t knock it over. The Curve SE’s elevated (in the literal sense) sense of design even helps keep your laptop ventilated, promoting proper airflow so your machine doesn’t heat up. In the event that it does, though, I imagine the metal body serves as some sort of heat sink to help dissipate heat and cool your machine down faster.

boost_case_2

Boost, as its name says, is a razor-thin case that gives the Macbook a much-needed adrenaline shot, making it powerful in ways beyond Apple’s imagination. The case comes in two halves that cover the upper and lower parts of the MacBook. The upper half of the case comes in a decorative decal that not just ups your mac’s style quotient, it also prevents your laptop’s delicate Aluminum body from scratching or denting. The lower half of the case, however, steals the show. This absolute tech marvel turns your MacBook into nothing short of a performance laptop. With six different ports/readers and not one, but TWO 3300 mAh batteries cleverly hidden inside its sleek design, the Boost has the body of a laptop case, but the personality of a multi-port dongle and a power bank.

Apple Watch Accessories to give your smartwatch the power-packed upgrade it deserves!

With renders of what the new Apple Watch 7 may look like spreading throughout the design world, everyone’s pretty excited to see what Apple will actually pull off with the latest version of their smartwatch. Currently, the Apple Watch is the most popular watch in the world, and this honestly doesn’t come as much of a surprise, when you take into consideration the number of people you see jogging or walking on the street, with their Apple Watch armed on their wrists. In celebration of this one-of-a-kind watch, and in anticipation of what its latest version may unveil, we’ve curated a collection of nifty accessories that will perfectly complement your beloved Apple Watch. From a watch case that looks like an iPod to a band that lets you control your smartwatch without touching the screen – we’ve put together a range of diverse and interesting Apple Watch accessories that even hardcore Apple lovers will go gaga over!

pod_case_2

pod_case_4

Is that a new iPod?! Nope! It’s the new Apple Watch in its coolest, old-schoolest external case yet! Joyce Kang and C.O Design Lab’s Pod Case gives the Apple Watch a much-needed history lesson, introducing it to the ancestor that started the Apple craze. The watch’s screen roughly matches the screen size found in classic iPod Nanos, while its body is only a slight bit thicker. The Pod Case, made in silicone, slides right over the Apple Watch body, giving it a funky throwback, while also letting you use the watch as-is. On the other hand, it’s a very comfortable feeling to use the latest tech with a product we have loved for a while. Obviously, the jog-wheel on the front is a dummy one (although it could work if it connected via Bluetooth), but the watch can easily be navigated using the touch-screen. Besides, this one comes with heavy-duty speakers of its own too!

Working on a tech quite similar in outcome to the Google Soli chip found in the Pixel 4, the Mudra is a wristband for the Apple Watch that comes with its set of sensors that pick up hand gestures by measuring nerve activity in your wrist. The Mudra band allows you to use your watch without touching it, but more importantly, it gives you the ability to use your left hand to control parts of the Watch experience, being able to snooze alarms, accept or reject calls, play/pause/skip music tracks, or even playing an old-fashioned game of Snake. The band picks up directly on gestures sent to your wrist via the motor nerve, almost forming a brain-to-device interface.

Inspired by the daily sunrise, industrial designer Taesung Yoon has thought of the 2 in 1 Apple Devices Charging Stand (yes, that’s the name of this accessory) that does what it says. Designed after feedback from the data-driven research and realizing what people actually want in their unified Apple charging stand, this accessory has been cleverly designed for form and function. The charging stand’s vertical stance with a slightly arched top means that the iPhone sits comfortably without the fear of accidentally toppling it over with an accidental shove. Right behind this port is the space for setting up the Apple Watch for refueling in style. So, you can charge your iPhone and Apple Watch at the same time. The compact design of the accessory means it is easy to carry in your backpack.

Meet this cool new camera feature coming along with a strap designed exclusively to house your Apple Watch. Called the Wristcam, the band features two cameras: an 8MP lens on the front and a 2MP camera that faces you when you lift up the wrist to see the watch screen. The front-mounted 8MP camera can shoot images in 4K resolution while recording videos in Full HD. The selfie camera can be used for video calling – or either camera for live-streaming. The Wristcam comes with its own 8GB of storage and a battery good enough for a day’s fun. According to the company, the Wristcam is water-resistant up to 1-metre, it connects to the Apple Watch over Bluetooth Low Energy, and with the iPhone via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. Taking pictures and capturing videos is as easy as pressing the button on the band.

The Interval Swim Earphones from H2O Audio build on the Apple Watch’s ability to work underwater. Designed as an attachment/accessory to the watch, these bad boys strap around your head using your goggles (giving them a universal fit) and allow you to dock your Apple Watch right into them. They come with a pair of Bluetooth earphones too, that aside from preventing water from going into your ear, allow you to listen to music, podcasts, ebooks, motivational speeches, or feedback from your coach. The Interval Swim Earphones come with an endorsement from avid-user and Olympic legend Michael Phelps too. They’re 100% waterproof, engineered to sound great underwater (with an increased bass response), and come with physical controls for adjusting the volume as well as for play/pausing your audio tracks.

There’s an undeniable simplicity and beauty to Yohann’s iPhone and Apple Watch charging dock+tray. Handcrafted from walnut wood (there’s a lighter, Oakwood variant too), the charging dock+tray takes into account the space it’s going to be kept in and adds a homely, classy touch to your wooden work desk, bedside table, or coffee table. The dock/stand’s choice of wood as a material gives it a classic appeal, making it look elegant even when it’s empty. The underlying tray provides a nice surface to keep your keys, USB sticks, and even AirPods; while channels running along its base you cleverly organize your charging cables. The stand’s waist provides the perfect place to stash/charge your Apple Watch, and the lightning port on the upper surface lets you easily dock your iPhone vertically, so you can charge it while you answer calls, view your calendar, attend conferences, or just browse through social media!

satechi_watch_grip_mount_1

satechi_watch_grip_mount_2

Satechi’s Grip Mount for the Apple Watch allows you to attach the device (sans the wristbands) to your car, cycle, or motorbike, allowing it to work in conjunction with the vehicle, serving the purpose of a navigational device that also lets you answer and reject calls, or even control music. The fact that the Watch comes with Bluetooth makes it perfect for your car, allowing you to connect it to the car’s audio system for onboard calls, navigational guidance, or controlling music playback. You can also use it on a bicycle, letting it run the Cyclemeter app to capture the amount of exercise you’re getting too! The Apple Watch, chock-a-block with cutting-edge technology, is capable of being much more than a wrist-mounted smart device.

elago_wristfit_1

elago_wristfit_2

Elago’s products are just sensible and help you use your Apple products more efficiently. Take for instance the Wristfit, a band for your Apple Watch that lets you conveniently dock your Airpods in them too. At the time of their release, the Airpods were criticized for being too ‘easy to lose’. This spawned a wide variety of products like the Elago Airpods strap that helped you secure your expensive earpieces in place, eliminating the danger of losing them. The Wristfit is another such ‘sensible’ product that simply gives you the ability to dock your Airpods on your Apple Watch. Keeping them in a place that’s easy to access, the Wristfit secures the Watch around your wrist, and the Airpods right on the strap like a sort of holster for your earphones. Push them right in when you’re not using them and you won’t have to worry about them at all.

Go ahead and add yet another incredible feature to the iPad Pro. The tablet already did have the ability to reverse-charge devices, but with Satechi’s Apple Watch dock, the iPad Pro can charge and dock your smartwatch right beside it! The way the Apple Watch docks on the iPad Pro is similar to the way the Pencil does. It sits right on the edge, allowing you to wirelessly charge your watch while you comfortably use your tablet uninterrupted. Like all of Satechi’s products, the USB-C Magnetic Charging Dock comes with Apple-certified MFI charging and works across all generations of the Apple Watch. The dock plugs right into the side of the iPad Pro or the MacBook Pro, although you could just as easily use it with any power bank too. The sleek aluminum design does a pretty good job of blending in with Apple’s design language, while inbuilt magnets securely hold onto your watch as it charges, allowing you to dock your iPad on a stand without worrying about the watch slipping or falling off.

Designed as a pretty nifty throwback to Apple’s golden era of the iPod, Elago’s W6 stand is a perfect tribute to one of Apple’s most ground-breaking products ever! The W6 is a part of Elago’s rather remarkable throwback series of stands for the watch, ranging from stands that resemble the Macintosh Computer to the gloriously colorful iMac G3, to even the Nintendo GameBoy. The W6 takes on a more recent ancestor of the Watch, the iPod Classic, which made its debut in 2001, nearly twenty years ago! A modern reinterpretation of the old plastic-and-metal device, the W6 stand is tiny and comes made from silicon, allowing it to flex as you slide your Watch in, and preventing it from accidental bumps or scratches with its shock-absorbing exterior.

MagSafe accessories that are the best investments of 2021 for your Apple devices!

The arrival of the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro models was accompanied by the reinvention and return of MagSafe. This lead to a whole new world of accessories being unleashed! Designers and creatives were racing to create a whole range of products for the repurposed MagSafe. And we’ve been loving every bit of it! From an aluminum MagSafe wallet that snaps onto your phone, to a pair of TWS earbuds – there’s a MagSafe accessory out there for your every need. And, we’ve curated a bunch of products that we truly believe are worth buying and investing in. This army of accessories will truly amp up your Apple experience!

The Snapods by Scendo are a pair of TWS Earbuds that come with a flat case that snaps right to the back of your phone. Building wonderfully on the capabilities of the MagSafe feature introduced in the latest iPhones, the Snapods make carrying earphones convenient. Just snap them to the back of your phone and you’ve got yourself a pair of earphones that are easy to store, quick to access, and hard to lose. The case’s design is inspired directly by where it’s located. Made to sit against the back of your phone, the Snapods case comes with a flat, wedge-shaped profile, making it easy to slip your phone into your pocket. The slim case doesn’t just dock the earphones, it charges them too, giving you an impressive 45 hours of playtime.

Meet the Fantom C, a MagSafe wallet designed to complement the Apple iPhone in durability and function. It comes machined from a Cerakoted billet of aluminum. The ceramic coating on the Aluminum makes it tougher and more abrasion-resistant, while a neat carbon-fiber finish on the surface of the wallet gives it a much more reliable and rugged appeal. Designed as a piece of EDC that pairs beautifully with your iPhone 12, the Fantom C gives you a dedicated space to store your cards right on the back of your phone. Magnets on its rear-side allow it to snap to the iPhone with a satisfying click, and at 0.31 inches (8 mm) thick, it’s marginally thicker than Apple’s own MagSafe wallet, but then again, the Fantom C is also capable of much more.

Moment, the Seattle-based accessories company specializing in phone camera gear has created a bunch of iPhone 12 series accessories that inherently have some kind of camera utility. There’s a whole bunch of cases, tripod mounts, and car vent mounts with MagSafe compatibility that add to the functionality of your Apple phone. First up, the cases come in two broader variations – a thinner version for better ergonomic feel in hand and the other, a more rugged one for more protection in event of accidental drops. All these cases have wrist strap loops and can endure a 6-foot drop. The cases priced at around $50 are compatible with the M-Series Moment lens system and they also work with the Moment Mounts. For photography addicts, Moment has a lineup of Tripod Mounts that have a very strong magnetic system for extra strength. These mounts work even without the case and are compatible with ¼-inch to 20-inch tripods, so you are good to go with any tripod.

The CLIP is a wireless power bank designed to snap onto the back of your phone either using MagSafe (for newer iPhone models) or using an adhesive clip (for older iPhones and Android devices). In doing so, the device aligns with the smartphone’s wireless charging coil, allowing it to charge the phone’s battery on the fly, without any cables. However, the CLIP doesn’t just add an extra external battery to the back of your phone, it also adds a kickstand that can be used in both landscape and portable formats. A metal component (shaped sort of like a carabiner clip) wraps around the power bank and can be opened out to let you prop your phone vertically or horizontally while it’s charging.

I wouldn’t outright call Grovemade old-fashioned, but rather I’d say their work is a confluence of sensibilities and materials. Primarily relying on wood and metal to craft their products, Grovemade’s designs boast of an old-world charm that’s also intertwined with modern minimalism. Take for instance the Wood MagSafe Stand, available in both Walnut and Maple variants. The stand, which sports a wooden halo mounted on a steel base, allows you to slip your iPhone MagSafe wireless charger in, routing the cable from the bottom. It then gives your iPhone 12 a nice, wooden armchair to hang out on, letting you rest it in either landscape or portrait while it charges.

The return of MagSafe has unleashed the creatives and accessory companies are racing to make the most of this feature. Front of the race is Belkin’s MagSafe Car Vent Mount PRO for iPhone 12 that lets you safely mount your iPhone 12 and keep it in your view – be it landscape or portrait mode. Best of all, the powerful magnet offers a seamless, one-handed use that keeps you driving stress-free!

Modeled on the concept of the MagSafe charger, the MagRig works with all Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C devices, which means not only does it bring the magnetic charging port back to the MacBook, it also works with the iPad Pro, most Android phones, the Nintendo Switch, and any device that use a Type-C connector. The two-part adapter attaches itself to both the port as well as the jack, giving you the satisfying magnetic click whenever you plug a device in. The magnetic connection even helps prevent damage caused by accidental cable tugs. Instead of your phone, iPad, or laptop flying right off the table because your dog snagged the wire while running around the house, the MagRig detaches with graceful choreography, keeping your gadgets safe from physical damage.

With a 100% recycled plastic body and a lifetime warranty, the Gomi Wireless Mag Charger helps reduce plastic waste as well as e-waste. UK-based sustainable design studio Gomi first hit the airwaves back in 2019 with its Bluetooth speaker designed entirely out of plastic waste. The company sought to exclusively use non-recyclable plastics (single-use plastic bags, bubble wrap, etc.) that would otherwise be dumped in oceans, sent to landfills, or incinerated. Working together with small businesses, global corporations, and recycling plants, Gomi developed a way to reuse this non-recyclable plastic as a raw material. Using the natural color variation between the different plastic products, the molding process helped create a marbled pattern that was unique to each device, allowing Gomi to effectively recycle the plastic and upscale it into a wonderful product.

Vulcan isn’t a replacement for wireless charging but is just a remarkably better cable with truly unique features that are designed to work universally across all your devices. Designed to power everything from your Xbox controller to your laptop, the Vulcan cable comes with the ability to deliver up to 100W of power and connects to your devices using a series of magnetic pins. Just plug these magnetic pins into the charging ports of your devices, and they create an interface for Vulcan to snap to, quite like the MagSafe connectors you’d see in MacBooks from before 2016. Different magnetic pins allow you to connect the same cable to a variety of devices. MicroUSB pins work perfectly for gaming controllers and Bluetooth speakers, while the Lightning pin lets you charge the iPhone and your AirPods.

The Belkin BOOST↑CHARGE PRO MagSafe 3-in-1 Wireless Charger charges all of your Apple devices in one go! You can use this super fast magnetic stand to charge your iPhone, Airpods and even your Apple Watch simultaneously. Amped with a clean and modern look, this MagSafe accessory provides a wireless charge of up to 15W. Quite fast, no?

The AW3 from elago pays tribute to Apple’s original hero product from its heyday. The 1984 Macintosh-inspired silicone sleeve for the Airpods case really gives it less of a dental-floss vibe and more of a cute relic appeal. The white silicone sleeve guards your Airpods case, cushioning it from accidental bumps and scratches, while an outlet at its base allows you to charge it too. In fact, the entire sleeve is compatible with wireless chargers too, letting you use even the new generation Airpods 2 with it. AW3’s design comes with the iconic Hello engraved into its form, which also lets you see the green charging light when the case is plugged in.

In two lines, this is a Vegan Watch strap for your super cool Apple Watch. In elaborate terms, we are discussing how there are more uses for Piñatex – a natural leather alternative that is made from pineapple leaves. Many of you may be aware that all the parts of a  coconut tree are used in some form or the other. For example, the leaves are woven into baskets, the husk of the coconut is used in the coir industry, whereas the fruit is consumed in totality – water, milk, pulp, and oil! Another such fruit is the pineapple. Piñatex is a natural leather alternative made from cellulose fibers extracted from pineapple leaves. Crafting an Apple Watch Strap – perhaps the World’s First pineapple strap! The material is very ethical and sustainable and makes for a great workaround for leather straps.

The Airbox by MOMAX is a portable power bank that can wirelessly charge multiple Apple products, along with being able to wire-charge the iPad. It builds on the idea of the AirPower mat but does a FAR better job. No larger than a spectacle case, the Airbox is a slick white device made from the same glossy plastic as the AirPods case. Open it up and the magic inside reveals itself to you. Armed with dedicated areas to charge all your Apple devices (along with an MFi-certification), the Airbox has a neat zone for your AirPods case (compatible with both the AirPods 2 and the AirPods Pro), a fold-out charger for the Apple Watch, even a dedicated slot to store your Apple Pencil, and a large anti-slip zone just to charge your iPhone (or any other Qi-enabled smartphone).

At nearly 1/4th the price of Apple’s own Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro, the Mokibo Folio provides the same set of features in a portable, accessible, and universally compatible format. Designed to work with multiple devices, and with a foldable stand that lets you prop those devices up as you type, the Mokibo Folio is a QWERTY keyboard that also doubles up as an iPad case. Designed, however, with a touch-sensitive surface that sits under the entire right-half the keyboard’s key-surface, the Mokibo goes from keyboard to touch-board just simply by running your hand over the right-hand side of the keyboard’s surface, allowing you to swipe, pinch, and perform a wide variety of gestures.

It also means you don’t have to carry around their dental-floss-box-shaped carrying case either!

With Apple launching its latest 16 inches MacBook Pro, it was fairly obvious that accessories for it would follow ensuite. One such intriguing product is the DGRule. The designers of DGRule describe it as an “invisible hub” and I guess we can see why. The DGRule promises to be a convenient alternative to the limited Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports since they aren’t always compatible with all devices. Subtle, discreet, and far from bulky, DGRule snaps onto both sides of the MacBook Pro. The cushion pad ensures it stays glued onto the laptop, no matter which position you work in.

Apple accessories designed to fulfill every tech lovers dream: Part 4

Apple has released a slew of products this year – the latest being their ‘one more thing’ event that rocked the world this November with the advent of M1 chips to their MacBooks. The reviews are now just pouring in and they promise the new laptop is a beast – which makes me even more intrigued for the next series of MacBook Pro’s and while I wait for them, I shall bide my time collecting accessories that promise to take my gadgets to the next level. Each unique design here is a game-changer for every Apple lover – be it yourself or someone you know and the gifts make for great Xmas gifts for that person who seems to have it all!

The Apple x Procreate controller by Simon Pavy measures around 2-inches in diameter. With a rotating body and a liquid retina touchscreen surface on the top, the controller really lets you precisely control aspects of your workflow. The rotating knob lets you very intuitively increase or decrease brush sizes, cycle through layers, adjust colors, or even play around with other settings, while the touch surface on the top works as a brilliant dedicated color palette, and an interface for cycling through layers, experimenting with brushes, or quickly going through your list of brushes while you work on your art piece. The puck-shaped controller comes with its own battery, and a USB-C port to charge it (you could just hook it to the iPad Pro).

The dock plugs right into the side of the iPad Pro or the MacBook Pro, although you could just as easily use it with any power-bank too. The sleek aluminum design does a pretty good job of blending in with Apple’s design language, while inbuilt magnets securely hold onto your watch as it charges, allowing you to dock your iPad on a stand without worrying about the watch slipping or falling off. Neat, eh?

Modeled on the concept of the MagSafe charger, the MagRig works with all Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C devices, which means not only does it bring the magnetic charging port back to the MacBook, it also works with the iPad Pro, most Android phones, the Nintendo Switch, and any device that use a Type-C connector. The two-part adapter attaches itself to both the port as well as the jack, giving you the satisfying magnetic click whenever you plug a device in. The magnetic connection even helps prevent damage caused by accidental cable-tugs. Instead of your phone, iPad, or laptop flying right off the table because your dog snagged the wire while running around the house, the MagRig detaches with graceful choreography, keeping your gadgets safe from physical damage.

The Magic Mouse Mini by Yongbin Kim looks and feels like your regular pop-socket. It attaches to the back of your phone, giving you a pop-out grip that you can firmly hold onto between your index and middle finger as you use your phone or click selfies. Switch the device on, and the optical sensor above the Apple logo powers on, turning your iPhone into a magic mouse! The iPhone and the socket at the back work in tandem to replicate the Magic Mouse experience. The optical sensor on the socket helps with cursor-tracking, while the iPhone’s touchscreen shoulders the responsibility of providing the control surface, allowing you to left-click, right-click, pinch, zoom, scroll, and do a variety of other gestures, just like you would on a Magic Mouse.

SuperCalla

Of all the cable-managing solutions I’ve seen in the near 30 years of my existence, SuperCalla’s solution seems the most compelling. I’ve seen thick cables, flat cables, coiled cables, woven cables, and even cable-holders, but nothing is as convincing as the video above. Say hello to the SuperCalla charging cable. It looks like most cables, except that at certain intervals the SuperCalla cable has magnets around it. These magnets effortlessly organize your cables and keep them organized, thanks to the satisfying snap of magnetic attraction. The magnets allow you to easily open the cable out, using as much as necessary, therefore keeping your drawer, bag, and general workplace as neat as possible. Besides, I imagine they’re incredibly fun to fidget with too!

Get those professional shots without having to study the manual and watch several YouTube videos, the iCamera by Cha Hee Lim aims at breaking down the complexity of advanced cameras to make people comfortable with the idea of shooting with a gadget that is not their phone. “It increases your ability and easily leads you to the world of cameras,” says the designer about the gap he wants to bridge with this concept design. The designer wanted to simplify the existing advanced cameras’ user experience by making the body more compact and lighter. The bulk of the lens is reduced but it still includes the revolving functionality to zoom. However, now you can do it comfortably with just a finger. It also aims to make transferring your files easier through cloud-based technologies – that one tedious task every photographer hates to do but has to do.

The titles available on Apple Arcade are surely a class apart, but Call of Duty, Asphalt, Genshin Impact, Minecraft, and the widely popular Among Us have been pretty popular games on the iPhone too… and that’s where the Backbone One by Backbone Labs Inc. comes in. Designed for iPhone users who are also serious gamers, the Backbone One is a plug-and-play controller that snaps to your iPhone, turning it into a makeshift Nintendo Switch-style gaming device complete with two joysticks, a D-pad, XYAB Action buttons, and four shoulder buttons. The Backbone One features a Lightning connector that interfaces directly with your smartphone, creating a more stable, low-latency connection with the device.

Called the Mosaic, Berger’s concept is sort of a part-logical-part-sarcastic way of pointing out that camera bumps on phones are so big they might as well be an independent device! The Mosaic isn’t really intended at being an Apple concept, but the camera bump and CMF options seem pretty indicative. Pop it into its smartphone dock and you’ve got a phone with a maxed out camera, take it out and the Mosaic module is just as functional, with a screen on the other side big enough to read and even type out messages. On the lens-side, you’ve got three camera lenses, a ToF sensor, a microphone, and another tiny screen that’s great for basic notifications, or a nice preview window or countdown timer for your camera! The camera module can be even used as a neck-worn or wrist-strapped device, like an activity tracker or smartwatch, and a clip-on accessory lets you mount it on yourself, like a bodycam. It even has its own volume buttons, although the evident lack of real estate on a device so compact means there aren’t any ports on it.

iPhone 12 lovers! These are the accessories you need to take your phone to the next level

The iPhone 12 is finally in our hands. Yes, we heard a ton of rumors about the design before it launched but Apple managed to surprise us once again with the return of MagSafe. While Apple lovers hold their breath with anticipation, phones are being unboxed at this very moment to enthused consumers and after getting the latest design, the next thing you want, after flaunting it without a cover for a few days, is to accessorize it with the latest tech. Discover companies and designs that are here, anticipating your excitement and ready to supply you with an army of accessories that upgrade your latest Apple adventure!

Say hello to the SuperCalla charging cable. It looks like most cables, except for that at certain intervals the SuperCalla cable has magnets around it. These magnets effortlessly organize your cables and keep them organized, thanks to the satisfying snap of magnetic attraction. I wish I had stuff to write about the SuperCalla but using it is so incredibly self-explanatory it seems borderline unnecessary. The cable can be coiled in a circular pattern, stuck together in a zigzag, or even wound up like you’d normally organize cables. Just make sure the magnets align and the SuperCalla has the innate ability to staying organized whether in your pocket, backpack, drawer, or even on your suitcase (yes, they’re travel-safe). The magnets allow you to easily open the cable out, using as much as necessary, therefore keeping your drawer, bag, and general workplace as neat as possible. Besides, I imagine they’re incredibly fun to fidget with too!

Vulcan isn’t a replacement for wireless charging but is just a remarkably better cable with truly unique features that are designed to work universally across all your devices. Once you plug the pin into its port, Vulcan does the rest, automatically locating, aligning, and connecting to the pin using a powerful pair of N52 Neodymium magnets. The magnets are strong enough to create a robust connection every time but calibrated perfectly to come apart in case the cable gets yanked or tugged by accident. Moreover, Vulcan is the only cable that works both ways, thanks to its reversible fast-charging feature. No matter which way you use the Vulcan, it supports high-speed power delivery, which does sound like something obvious, but it isn’t because other cables don’t provide the same output and speed reversibly. It’s also built to support 20W charging for the new iPhone 12, giving you a single cable that’s universally compatible, and that provides the fastest and most convenient way to quickly juice up your devices, be it your phone, earphones, tablets, gaming controllers, and even your USB-C laptop! Buy it here!

Meet the Magic Mouse Mini, a concept created by Yongbin Kim who gave the smartphone pop-socket the ultimate upgrade by also fitting an optical sensor into it! The Magic Mouse Mini looks and feels like your regular pop-socket. It attaches to the back of your phone, giving you a pop-out grip that you can firmly hold onto between your index and middle finger as you use your phone or click selfies. Given how large and slippery smartphones are nowadays (further factoring in the iPhone’s curved edges). However, a switch on the side turns the pop-out grip into something vastly more functional. Switch the device on, and the optical sensor above the Apple logo powers on, turning your iPhone into a magic mouse!

Phones have replaced our wallets but we can’t truly be wallet-free – at least not yet! Dango has brought to us a solution that works across multiple devices and a detachable wallet because who needs a bulky pocket? The A-series sliding mechanism sticks onto any phone (including your newly purchased iPhone12!) and Dango’s A10 wallet works directly with the polymer/vertical rail. With a thickness of only 3mm, the A10 Phone Adapter remains barely noticeable on your phone.

If the reviews are correct, iPhone 12’s photography continues improving and the major impact in this decision has been with the A14 Bionic Chip. But one thing we know, yes the original camera’s are great with an entire market dedicated to improving those camera qualities. Enter ShiftCam’s ProLens Ecosystem for iPhone 12 – these durable in-case mounts work with ShiftCam’s original case as well as any silicone case to put your well-loved lens to use.

As much as I love the new Apple iPhone 12 going back to Apple’s roots with the MagSafe feature, there’s a slight problem with the way they implement it. The MagSafe detail on the back of the iPhone allows you to connect it to a variety of modules like cases, wallets, and chargers by simply snapping them to the back of the device. While that sounds great (and it is), it relies on a stackable system… which means if you want a case with a wallet on the back of your iPhone, you need to buy a separate case, and a separate wallet module and stacks them together using the magnetic system. Mujjo’s elegant solution just combines the two into a neat wallet-case that gives you both features in a single device.

Mobile by Peak Design is an ecosystem of mounts, cases, accessories, and chargers designed to better integrate your phone with your life. While they’re made for any phone, the designs are compatible with Apple’s new MagSafe® system. Taking your phone to the next level, this series of accessories work across the board to upgrade your interactions with everything you find in your day-to-day life. The kit includes a mobile tripod, an out-front bike mount, a car mount, a charging desk stand, a wall mount, a creator kit, a kickstand wallet (phew!) – everything that can come together to help you maximize the usage of your phone in everyday life.

Belkin’s ultra-convenient 3-in-1 wireless charging stand delivers the fastest possible charge, up to 15W to your iPhone 12. Leveraging MagSafe technology, just place your iPhone 12 on the charging stand for a secure connection. After all, if you have the iPhone 12, it makes sense for you to show off your purchase while charging it – and trust Belkin’s magnet that ensures your phone stays in place while buzzing with your incoming messages!

Your new iPhone is surely going to grab eyeballs, but you want to grab the right kind of attention. What we don’t need is people spying on our screen and STARK ™ CS2 Privacy Screen is the solution you need. Not only does it keep your content safe from prying eyes, but it also protects your screen from scratches, smudges, breaks, and fingerprints. With its patented gluing system, it is very easy to attach and remove the screen again.

Apple accessories designed to fulfill every tech lovers dream: part 3

Apple launch events set the internet on fire – the iPhone 12 is finally unveiled after tons of rumors and concepts we get to e-meet the final design that matches the designs that have been circulating for a while. Now, while the YouTube reviewers go through the nitty-gritty of the phone’s design and features, what caught my attention is the lack of power adapter and earbuds. Citing the reason that the company’s aim is to be more environmentally friendly, we still need chargers and earbuds to run our phones in the day-to-day. YD brings you this recommended list of Apple accessories that will be the next purchase, maybe even before you get your hands on the latest iPhone 12, to be ready to bring home your latest smartphone!

Apple’s modern aesthetics and attention to detail meet the rugged and agile nature of a GoPro, you know sparks will fly! Varun Anand’s conceptual design features the iCam as not just a camera but an interactive touchscreen – that lets you do everything from capturing photos and videos from angles never-seen-before to an iPod nano like design that plays your favorite tunes for the lighting to get just right.

The CheerPod is a tiny, handheld device that boils the mouse down to its essentials. With a design that’s dictated by the need to be small and remote-like, the CheerPod is to mice what smartphones are to landlines – Portable, rectangular, and heavily feature-laden. It comes with an infrared sensor on its base, like all wireless mice, allowing you to drag your cursor by moving the physical device, but it also allows you to mimic gestures by swiping across screens in mobile and desktop interfaces. The CheerPod, unlike most wireless mice, works without a receiver, connecting directly to laptops, desktops, tablets, and even phones using Bluetooth. It sports a Magic Mouse-inspired touch-enabled surface on its top that lets you click, scroll, zoom, pinch, swipe, and even use multi-touch gestures… sort of like the love-child of a mouse and a trackpad.

What is worse than blowing off your savings on your beloved phone? Losing that newly purchased smartphone due to a slip of fingers! That small but persistent fear is often niggling at the back of our minds and the Analogy Designs Necklace Case is the knight-in-a-shining-armor your smartphone needs! This design may seem simple but if someone loses their phone by it slipping into a grate, let’s see who is the one left laughing then!

In its folded avatar, the MOFT Float looks and feels like any iPad Pro cover. It’s both rugged yet deceptively slim, and fits not one, but two friction hinges into its design, allowing you to open it out and pivot your tablet at any viewing angle as well as adjust the height to over 3-inches off the tabletop surface. The Float case comes with three modes of usage based on how you use the tablet. A Floating Mode gets the iPad elevated off a tabletop surface, perfect for longer, more natural viewing sessions like watching a movie, attending a zoom-call, or using the iPad as a makeshift laptop or a secondary screen for your primary computer. For more interactive usage, the Stable Mode puts your iPad directly on a tabletop surface, allowing you to tap/touch/draw on its screen frequently without having it rocking back or forth. Rotate the iPad 90° and it goes into Portrait Mode, giving you the freedom to use the iPad in its natural vertical orientation.

No larger than a spectacle-case, MOMAX Design’s Airbox is a slick white device made from the same glossy plastic as the AirPods case. A USB-C port on the outside with 20W power-delivery even lets you connect your iPad to the Airbox, practically covering all of Apple’s portable products… while the 10,000 mAh battery inside the Airbox is more than enough to get you through 24 hours with all your products. It even allows the simultaneous charging of up to 4 products, so you’re never out of power.

This wireless charging system kit by Scosche is modular and expandable, you are now free from hours of untangling cables for each device because this one dock is a home-for-all. You’ll be happy to know that it just requires one power out and given its modular nature, it is portable so you can use it at home or at work. The BaseLynx charging kit is compatible with all iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, Airpods, and even iPods – yes this station EXISTS and all us Apple fans are excited about giving our devices a resting spot as sleek as they are. It has many individual parts that you can choose and pick from to BYOB (Build Your Own BaseLynx). An interesting feature is the Vert charging module where you can charge three devices at once on the same base.

The designers at CURVED/Labs imagined what this bridge between the Airpods and the Homepod would look like. Taking very strong design cues from the Homepod, these smart headphones boast of large audio drivers that deliver spectacular sound, along with a touch-sensitive panel that lets you tap and swipe to access the headphone’s smart features. The headphones even pay tribute to the Homepod with the colored waveform-graphic found on the Homepod’s touch-panel and the faux-weave texture around it. I imagine the headphones also pack noise-canceling, as is expected with high-quality audio products, and from the looks of it, these concept headphones even come with a neat wireless charging dock/hanger. The Airpods do work with Android phones, so it’s safe to imagine that these headphones would too, but just like the Airpods, functionality would be extremely limited, and the touch panel wouldn’t be of much use.

Apple accessories designed to fulfill every tech lovers dream: Part 2

With every new product that Apple launches, there is an equally interesting increased interest in the accessories that I can use to jazz up my imaginary setup! Take for example Apple’s latest 27-inch iMac – designated to be the biggest change Apple ever made in the iMac’s configuration under the hood. Now while I imagine buying me that sleek design, I’m wondering if the Kolude’s Keyboard that doubles as a hub will be the perfect accessory, or shall I look for something new? With Apple all set to launch the new ARM-based machines in the market, let’s start looking and picking the accessory of our choice to deck out the latest config they plan to hit us with. After all, the promise of cheaper prices and a 9-10 hour battery life might be the reason we need to trade in our older models once again!

It seems that Stephen Chu may have made one of the most marvelous breakthroughs in the computer peripherals category. Say hello to the Kolude KD-K1, a sleek external keyboard with a pretty interesting twist. With circular keys that sit within a machined aluminum base giving it a neo-retro vibe, the Kolude KD-K1 keyboard is a visual treat with tactile scissor-switch keys that make it a great keyboard to type on too. Designed to be the Swiss-Army-Knife of keyboards, the Kolude KD-K1 makes sure you’ll never have to bend over and reach behind a CPU to plug a pen-drive in again.

Mokibo At nearly 1/4th the price of Apple’s own Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro, the Mokibo Folio provides the same set of features in a portable, accessible, and universally compatible format.

AXS Technologies from Brooklyn, NY has created a new and innovative product that unifies all of your most important devices into one sleek system essentially making the AirPod’s native charging case obsolete. Power1 takes portability and functionality to a new level giving you a system that’s doubly useful because it doesn’t just charge and protect for your iPhone… it charges and protects your Airpods too and ensures they are always with you and ready for use. Designed as an evolution of traditional battery cases, Power1 not only holds an extra battery but also manages your Airpods like no other system. Armed with proprietary design, Power1 comes with two modes. One, where it charges your Airpods only (up to 30 times on a full battery), and a second mode that charges your Airpods as well as your phone, giving both gadgets full advantage of Power1’s 3000mAh internal battery.

Link keyboard

The designer Evan Stuart felt the need to create a truly effortless, delightful, and seamless user experience that went beyond beautiful aesthetics. Link is a one-stop-shop to keep devices charged, synced, and ‘linked’ together with as minimal cables and inconveniences as possible. The keyboard is a constant at everyone’s desk and therefore the peripheral devices were formed to work around it like modular accessories. The set includes the keyboard along with ’tiles’ which are the peripheral accessories. These tiles include a drawing tablet, wireless charging pads, a touchpad, a number pad, and a dial which is the most interesting of them all. “Pan around. Zoom. Select. Click. Clack. Rotate. The Dial instantly becomes your favorite digital input tool,” says the designer about including the playful accessory. All modules are battery operated and magnetically connect to the side of the keyboard to dock and recharge when low on charge before being reused again. It also comes equipped with NFC, Bluetooth, and wireless charging capabilities to make it the ultimate unifying hub. Less is more, and less is specifically one cable.

To help you understand why the OMNIA X Series is such a sensible piece of tech, unlike most plugs that are designed around their components, the OMNIA X Series is designed around the footprint of a power-socket. The power-socket is a standard format and the OMNIA X Series tries to limit its shape and size to that format, resulting in a plug that’s small because being small is just a sensible direction to design in. This allows the plug to fit into sockets and strips (even over-crowded ones) without really blocking or interfering with other plugs/switches around it. The OMNIA X Series, despite its size, comes in three variants with 30W and 18W power delivery and the ability to quick-charge your Android and Apple devices with ease. It even packs foldable pins, allowing you to easily carry your charging adapter with you everywhere you go in your backpack or even your pocket.

Like all of Satechi’s products, the USB-C Magnetic Charging Dock comes with Apple-certified MFI charging, and works across all generations of the Apple Watch. Neat, eh? Maybe you could even use it as a small extended display too, running a timer, your clock, or the weather app right beside your screen as you work or browse the web!
