This home gym comes with a smart fitness mirror designed to help you workout like a pro!

Home workouts are still very much a part of 2021, which, I think, is one of the everlasting changes 2020 has made in our life. While working out at home is easier said than done – consistently and with the same intensity – there are hundred possible ways to get fit, but only a handful of them actually work. Frankly speaking, working out without the assistance of a gym instructor is a pipedream only a few out there can achieve. Sure there are tons of fancy home workout equipment and accessories, but the question remains – do you still use them after a month or two, shelling out hundreds of dollars?

This is where the NordicTrack Vault comes in and literally aids you with the training at a professional athlete’s level thanks to the iFit trainers enrolled with the platform. This smart home workout equipment combines technology, practical usage, and professional challenges only a trainer can throw at you to get fitter by the day. The freestanding smart mirror comes with storage space inside for all your dumbbells, kettlebells, resistance bands, and anything else for which space is left. You can call it an all-in-one smart fitness studio with an integrated 32-inch HD touchscreen cum mirror. So, as you select your training programs and follow the instructions of the trainer on-screen, you can actually keep an eye on the correct form of any exercise.

You’ll be able to receive feedback based on your workout regime, and it can’t get more interactive than training alongside your coach as you emulate the moves and correct them in real-time. For a more personalized fitness regime, you can hook on the heart rate monitor that shows your vital statists on the screen. To get you in the groove the embedded speakers can be a good way to play your favorite workout playlist as you sweat it out each day. NordicTrack Vault will come at a price tag of $2,999 which includes the accessories to put inside the cabinet and a 1-year iFit Family Membership. The intuitive home workout gym is slated to release sometime this year and it’ll be interesting to see how people connect with the idea of personal training of this magnitude.

This curved manual treadmill promises natural motion, giving you the perfect workout regime

Most of the treadmills that keep you fit (only if you use them for a prolonged period) are too tech-savvy, and one wishes at times they were a tad simpler. All that while having an aesthetic form that’s good to go with your modern interiors. The Sprintbok by NOHrD breaks the conventional norms normally associated with treadmills – giving fitness freaks one more reason to burn those calories out of the system and stay fit for life!

This curved manual treadmill crafted from solid hardwood doesn’t have any fancy settings or electronics to make you go out for an indoor run. Rather it uses flexible wooden slats and ball bearing engineering for a natural running motion that’s actually powered by the user’s legs. It feels like you are running in a forest and the low noise makes it ideal for an apartment setting. You can run as fast as you can or as slow as desired on the Sprintbok – it’s that simple. The treadmill’s curved shape lets you experience ascending difficulty with bigger sprint steps. To keep track of your progress there’s a bit of basic tech-infused – a 17.3-inch tablet and a compatible Sprintbok app. This way you can choose from a platter of pre-designed running workouts with scenery runs.

Since the treadmill is made from high-quality natural materials that are recyclable, the treadmill is light on the environment too. Sprintbok is more or less a maintenance-free fitness machine which is a great advantage, as modern treadmills can cost a lot in maintenance if not used properly or some component malfunctions. The treadmill belt is made up of 62 movable wooden slats having a linoleum finish – making the machine absorb most of the shocks and vibration produced during running. Truly this treadmill deserves to sit any interior, it’s designed to catch eyeballs for sure!

This home workout machine merges the ease of minimal design and the functionality of classic gym gear!

Finding the right home fitness station is a lot like the story of Goldilocks. There are home exercise systems that don’t look like they belong in anyone’s home unless you’re the CEO of Equinox – too hard. There are the fitness stations that might sacrifice functionality for aesthetics, looking more like sofas than operative pieces of equipment – too soft. The new SlimBeam from NOHrD is that bowl of porridge – or, home cable station – that’s just right. SlimBeam is an elegant, multifunctional home cable machine that offers a wide array of workout options for users and its sleek, wooden body fits into any interior living space.

The cable machine comes with an incorporated pull-up bar, weights, accessory adapter, and plenty of different cord options for different weight exercises like tricep extensions or pushdowns. The designers at NOHrD made all of these exercise options available to users because cable machines are intended to target those deeper layer muscles that isolated weight training misses. SlimBeam’s body might be slim and minimal, but no functionality was sacrificed in the making of this cable machine. Standing at just over seven feet tall and 16 inches wide, SlimBeam offers cord extension of up to eight meters, giving users the chance to practice that golf swing or rowing stroke.

Additionally, SlimBeam makes it all possible with its butterfly swivel, which equips the cable machine with dual-side function and adaptive function for changing heights. Fit snug inside the wooden body, fourteen, rubberized weights are available for weight training and can be adjusting to decrease or increase the workout’s intensity. Finally, it wouldn’t be a fitness system for 2020 if it didn’t come with an app. Currently only available for Android, SlimBeam’s app displays the station’s pre-set weight along with the user’s repetition and range of motion and also provides instructional video for different workouts chosen in cooperation with sports scientists.

If you’re anything like me, you’d rather get a good sweat going in your own home than give into a monthly gym membership. Depending on your situation, however, bulky gym equipment and scattered dumbbells just might not comfortably fit into your space. SlimBeam swivels somewhere in the middle, offering everything from pull-ups to drive practice, something Goldilocks would approve. A home gym system that provides, but then, when necessary, can also hide – ah, just right.

This 3-in-1 home gym is smaller than your couch helping you meet your fitness goals!

COVID-19 pandemic has forced most of us in the confines of our homes with restricted possibilities when we talk of activities that in normal routine would bring some semblance of physical activity. Sure most of us tried to set fitness goals, and use our creative bit to figure out how to keep the flame burning, but in the end, it’s too hard to stay motivated for a rigorous workout session when you are going through the same boring routine with no other pals around who’ll push you for that final set.

Getting a multipurpose fitness machine is a good answer to all your excuses, but unfortunately, after a few months, they are left to bite the dust too. Moreover, they take up too much space and most of them are not that aesthetically pleasing. This 3-in-1 fitness wall by NOHrD christened Wall Compact is an exception, and surprisingly it takes up as little space as imagined – no more than your small couch. The home fitness solution is designed by WaterRower’s (expertise in developing rowing machines for over three decades) sister brand NOHrD that focuses on form and function. Their design ideology is centered on the user and the aesthetic appeal of the fitness equipment while still maintaining the highest standards of strength training backed by science.

You can tone all the important muscles in your body with this multifaceted fitness machine that comes with its own virtual coach interactive workout program accessed via the touchscreen. You can perform chest, forearm, biceps, triceps, shoulder, and back exercises on the cable stations on each side –while the SwingBells on the wall gives you more freedom of taking up your free weight training sessions. Just imagine this workout machine sitting in your living room – you’ll be instantly lured to burn out those muscles!

These home gyms designed to match your interior means no more excuses to not exercise!

My love-hate relationship with working out is a well-documented affair. From yoga, weight-lifting to even skipping or going for a pure cardio-based workout, I have tried quite a few exercise routines in my life and it’s a constant tug of war between the money I spend on joining any of these places and the amount of time I spend actually working out. Being a blogger who works from home, time is surprisingly the one thing I fall short on – you see, there is no end to publishing content, and it’s always an exciting day. What I do need is a home gym that won’t stare at me while I walk across the room and take up half of my precious floor space – I have enough guilt about late-night binging as it is! That’s when I began looking into these home gym designs and I must say – a gym that hides in a bench sounds like a great design. It keeps me working out any time of the day while doubling as furniture or at least remains a real space saver on the off days when I can only manage to crawl to my bed at the end of the day!

Oliver Perretta’s Kondition was inspired by a piece of furniture that actually resembles a standard workout bench, IKEA’s BEKANT series. Both IKEA’s BEKANT and Perretta’s Kondition have similar personalities as they appear as modest, simple furniture designs whose true essence shines through in their ability to blend into any given room. At first, an unassuming side bench or low-rise table during living room hours, and then, an adjustable home workout with a sliding bench come gym time. Perretta was certain to make bullnose corners for Kondition’s workout station in order to enhance both the piece’s adaptive nature and its approachability in its inherent baby-proof design. Additionally, Perretta plans to utilize aluminum extrusion in any eventual construction process as that would ensure a high strength to weight ratio for more intense workouts. Stamped panels also make for easy and deep cleaning so that job won’t ever feel stressful after a good sweat.

The Tempo Studio is a gym-set that comes complete with a display and a motion-tracking camera that actively scans and monitors your exercise in 3D. With built-in exercise routines that are guided by expert trainers performing live exercise sessions, the Tempo is the equivalent of going on a Zoom video call with your gym trainer. Hop onto a personalized live session with a gym trainer of your choice and the trainer on the other side of the screen guides you through your workout. The Tempo Studio comes built-in with a workout mat as well as all the training gear you’d need, and Tempo’s AI-enabled camera module captures and tracks your body’s movement as you work out, allowing the trainer to remotely know where you’re going wrong.

Instead of answering the unanswerable (really, who can say what’s up next for 2020), the team behind G-Wall designed their home gym specifically so that it could be stored behind a closet or armoire cabinet’s door. That way the time that you would have spent making room for your home fitness system, instead is spent actually putting it to use. G-Wall’s Home Fitness System has several standout features: variable modules, user-adjustability, and compatibility, to name a few. Each user decides on which modules they want to comprise the larger system. This means that despite the amount of space in your home, G-Wall’s design makes it possible to incorporate a home gym anywhere. The different modules that users can decide on range from cardiovascular equipment, to free weights and even heavy training. The gear that comes with each module is stored in cabinets or racks that easily hang behind doors or however the user deems appropriate for their personal space.

Designed to adapt to your flexible lifestyle, the NOVA by Paul Francis lets you transform your health and body no matter where you are without needing to go to a gym. The single exercise device is a heavy-duty portable gym that uses high resistance to provide total body strength training at home, office, or on the go. “The NOVA Gym provides up to 40lbs (18kg) of resistance in each hand in all planes of movement, yet only weighs 2.5lbs (1.12Kg) and folds up to go anywhere,” says Paul Francis who created the design and is also an architect, industrial designer, and inventor. The team uses their patented SpiraFlex technology that provides weightless resistance and was actually the first resistive exercise device used in space (NASA iRED) – Francis is truly an inventor because his technology is ‘out of this world’! SpiraFlex feels smooth and linear like free-weights, without the weight or momentum. The stainless steel cables have been coated with nylon to remain durable for long-term use with high resistance.

Recognizing that most people don’t have the space for gym equipment in their home, or the money for a gym membership, or even the willpower to head to the gym every day, Josh Hume embarked on a journey to bring the gym to the household. The catch? It had to be the smallest, most exhaustive (and exhausting!) gym ever made. After multiple iterations, the FITT Cube was born. With its 450mm edge dimension, the FITT Cube occupies as much space as a footstool, and comes with a mini-stepper (with its own seven-segment LCD display), a rotating seat, gripping handles, a plyometric platform, and even resistance bands. The FITT cube also comes with a user guide, exercise chart, and nutrition guide to keep you on top of your fitness game.

Fulfilling the role of a mat as well as an instructor, the Kyoma Yoga Mat really gives you a neat menu of positions to choose from. The mat’s graphics are split into two distinct categories with 59 stretching exercises and 59 yoga postures, and there’s even a Kamasutra edition with 59 poses, but hey… we’re a family-friendly website. Go look it up on your own if you want. The mat uses a two-layer construction, with a hypoallergenic cork upper, and a TPE base that prevents it from slipping or skidding while you meditate/exercise. The cork’s naturally anti-bacterial too, so all you need to do after a yoga-session is to wipe the sweat down and you’re good to go!

The Germany based wooden sports equipment brand NOHrD has come out with the TriaTrainer 3-in-1 exercise bench! No more dragging yourself or imagining that you will drag yourself to the gym. With the TriaTrainer you can have an endearing workout session in the comfort of your own home. At first glance the TriaTrainer looks like an inconsequential wooden seating stool, however, it’s jampacked with some multi-functionality! The long solid wood bench can be used for a variety of different exercises. It serves as an abdominal trainer, back extension bench, and weight bench.

Yes, a simple web search can lead you to a host of foldable and space-saving exercise bikes but if you do your research, you’ll find there are none that can provide professional quality work out at home and fold up to the size of a carry-on bag when you’re done! This is where the Breakaway Bike by John Stump steps in with its immensely compact size. Made from aerospace-grade aluminum, the bike measures 16 x 23 x 8-inches when packed down and weighs only 35 pounds. The bike boasts of being the world’s first exercise bike that can be conveniently folded down so you can pick it up and store away in a closet at home or under a table in the office until it’s time to get pumping! Get a full-sized workout, close up shop in seconds, and hide it away under the bed – it’s all so easy. Interestingly, you can also load the Breakaway Bike in the boot of your car or can fit in the overhead bin to be carried where your work takes you!

No larger than two shoe-boxes kept end-to-end, the Gym Box by James Wall looks deceptively small for a home gym, however, it transforms into an extensive resistance and box-training kit once opened. Complete with an adjustable bench, a step-up box, a resistance platform, and multiple resistance-bands, the Gym Box can be used in a variety of ways, spanning more than 165 exercises to give you full-body workouts for losing weight, toning up, or building muscle mass. Designed to be two things – Compact and Versatile, the Gym Box allows you to fit all your gym-equipment into something that’s small enough to slide under your bed or into the bottom shelf of your wardrobe. It weighs 28 lbs, and measures not more than 45-inches in length, making it perhaps one of the smallest all-in-one home-gyms. Once it opens up, its parts can be configured into any variety of arrangements, or even used independently. The adjustable bench can be set to a 90° angle, or reclined to a full 180°, with 1¼-inch thick steel tubing to ensure it’s just as robust as the equipment you find in gyms.

The Groove was conceptualized around the efficiency of pilates reformers, resistance training, and gymnastics, integrating an entire gym into one piece of furniture. Hannah Fink reimagined working out at home by merging practicality with style. The Groove mounts three cushioned units onto quiet, rubber wheels and connects them with resistance bands, allowing for a catalog of possible exercises: heel raises, bicep curls, leg presses, sliding planks. Pulling on inspiration from pilates and gymnastics, The Groove incorporates the four pillars of fitness: aerobic, strengthening, stretching, and balance. Since most pieces of home gym equipment focus on only one pillar, users might unknowingly neglect other muscle groups, which can lead to an imbalance that contributes to overuse injuries.

This IKEA inspired bench holds a home gym while merging with your living room interiors!

Stuck inside with quarantine, we’ve all had to get creative when it comes to staying healthy, but with working out indoors, it’s hard to not feel distracted by all the clutter from our home gym equipment. Our living rooms get left with little to no walking room because dumbbells get scattered across the floor and yoga mats and resistance bands take over closets and coat-racks. Our homes have turned into micro-networks of all the businesses we had once frequented daily. Oliver Perretta, having had enough of it too, recently designed Kondition, a flexible piece of home fitness furniture, in order to maintain the comfort of our home all while providing a solution for those who want to remain physically active.

Kondition was inspired by a piece of furniture that actually resembles a standard workout bench, IKEA’s BEKANT series.

The pull-out drawer is perhaps Kondition’s defining feature as this solves the problem of home gym equipment taking up too much space. On the planning surrounding Kondition’s drawer feature, Perretta says, “The drawer in this concept utilizes load-bearing rails of 100kg plus and small castors on the underside to make pulling the drawer out easy.” Along with Kondition’s drawer frame, Perretta integrated fixtures all around the bench that will allow users to perform resistance band movements such as rows, bicep curls, tricep extensions, and lateral raises. From the more disguised features such as the fixtures and hooks to the ample storage space given by the drawer, and then to the casual, yet durable upholstery that fits into living rooms and office spaces alike, giving your workouts that plush, extra comfort sometimes needed – Kondition, as Perretta remarks,  is as “adaptable both functionally and aesthetically.”

This furniture design doubling as a home gym is the perfect fit for your home interiors!

Working out in your own home can get overwhelming. Crowded spaces and clunky machinery are eyesores in any space. It seems the only available workout equipment on the market today caters to those who already have space, money, and time for a separate home gym altogether, so putting a big treadmill in the middle of the living room isn’t even part of the question. Hannah Fink, a designer with Pratt Institute, constructed The Groove in order to make the benefits of working out possible while maintaining comfortable living spaces.

The Groove was conceptualized based around the efficiency of pilates reformers, resistance training, and gymnastics, integrating an entire gym into one piece of furniture. Fink reimagined working out at home by merging practicality with style.

Home gyms should provide versatility for bodily ambulation; miniature experimentation offered Fink insight as to how The Groove could deliver that. The three levels of resistance that connect the units emphasize that mutability. After working alongside fitness professionals, Fink conceptualized and manufactured a final product that implements resistance bands of varying strength levels, along with handles, and barbell attachments for seated rows, tricep extensions, and bicep curls. Solid, white oak wood with beveled edges enhance the furniture’s aesthetic value, and an upholstered cushion made from weatherproof, washable fabric can easily be removed for deep cleaning. The versatility and simplicity of The Groove remind us that taking care of our physical health can be as convenient as it is healthful, so long as we allow it to be.

This 4-foot box fits an entire home-gym inside it and costs as much as a smartwatch

If you’re still contemplating over getting yourself or someone you know a Peloton membership for Christmas (jeez, it’s already 2 months to Christmas-time), you’re at the right place (or the wrong place, depending on how determined you are). The Gym Box is arguably more versatile than a bicycle. It integrates an entire home-gym into it, spanning a range of workout-styles and fits in a compact box that you can store under your bed. Unlike your gym-membership, the Gym Box is a one-time purchase… and unlike most home-gyms that cost an arm and a leg to set up, the Gym Box boasts of a price tag that’s well within the $300-400 range, making it effectively the same price as your fitness-tracking smartwatch.

No larger than two shoe-boxes kept end-to-end, the Gym Box looks deceptively small for a home gym, however, it transforms into an extensive resistance and box-training kit once opened.

The seats are fitted with high-density foam and anti-skid vinyl layering too, for that high-end workout experience. The box itself (which doubles as a stepping box) is crafted from a high-performance polymer for a combination of strength and low-weight, along with the resistance board that is fitted with stainless-steel anchor points for your resistance bands.

The Gym Box allows you to work out no matter what your experience level. With resistance bands of different grades, the Gym Box lets you upgrade your workout as you go, ranging from novice to expert, with more than 165 exercises for you to rotate between to keep your body at peak performance. If you’re looking to switch things up, you can add optional accessories to your box, from a straight-bar to a pair of push-up bars, an ab-roller, and even door-anchors! The concept of a home-gym isn’t new, although the Gym Box aims at giving you a level of versatility that most home-gyms can’t. Each Gym Box ships with a 1-year warranty, and fits a whole set of configurations and routines into its small avatar, giving you a full-body workout experience from the comfort of your home… for roughly the same price as your Apple Watch.

Gym Box – An Entire Gym in a Box

The Gym Box is a compact, lightweight home gym that comes with everything you need to get full body workouts. Perform over 165 exercises you get with free weights, a weight bench, pulley machines, and more.

Box Exercises

With the Gym Box set up for storing, it can be used for planks, jumps, step ups, aerobics, cardio, strength training, etc.

Resistance Exercises

The Gym Box uses resistance bands encased in a nylon sleeve that protects the user. At each end are carabiners for quick attachment and release along with the level of resistance.

The resistance ranges from 10-300 pounds for each hand with 10 pound increments. Each band is independently anchored, eliminating standing on bulky bands and looping through anchors. You can use a single band or stack up to four bands.

Standing Exercises

Remove the lid, flip it over, and place it on the floor. This becomes the band anchor station for all the resistance exercises. It is also used as a platform you stand on for all your standing exercises.

Bench Exercises

Remove the storage section and place its notched sections into the slots of the platform. This secures the two together with perfect alignment.

Now place the bench on top of the storage section. The bottom of the bench drops into the storage section securing the bench.

The bench can be set to the flat, incline, and upright positions. The height of the back rest will allow up to a 6′ 3″ person’s head to rest centered and comfortably.

Leg Exercises

The shoe straps are equipped with four D-ring attachment points (top, inside, outside, and heel), making the push or pull of resistance smooth and comfortable.

This modular home workout setup fits in your closet, no more excuses to not exercise!

Few industries have changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic like the fitness industry has changed. Acclimating to the increasingly strange times, home gym designers have taken to the drawing boards by storm. Working out at home is possible, yes. Fun? Depends. Comfortable? Hard to say. What’s definite is that the team at G-Wall turned the everchanging state of 2020 into the well-knit, conceptual core of their sleek, modular home gym design. Recently, the designers behind the G-Wall Home Fitness System were presented with 2020’s K-Design Award.

Once quarantine started, many of us twiddled our thumbs while figuring out how to stay healthy and active within the confines of our respective homes. Fitness and health remained a top priority for many global citizens. It was never a question of compromise or adjustment when it came to working out during quarantine. Rather, designers and gym-goers took to the drawing boards to concoct their own solutions. That’s all to say that while the fitness industry has indeed changed with 2020’s unpredictable timeline, some of the most innovative new designs have been devised. Such deliberate and convenient designs like G-Wall prove that as unanswerable as some questions may be, as uncertain as the time may feel, design’s practical and adaptive nature is one thing on which we can always depend.

This 180° foldable workout mat is a space-saving alternative to the traditional treadmill!

Okay if home fitness was a porridge then Goldilocks would absolutely go for this one! The WalkingPad S1 is the perfect middle ground for those looking for something that falls between a yoga mat and a treadmill. This 180-degree foldable smart mat is a home workout essential for those who want to build up their fitness without building a full home gym in their apartments. This way you can avoid risking your health by going to the gym in a pandemic while continuing your summer-less summer body journey!

The biggest advantage of the WalkingPad S1 is that it saves 95% space when folded up and also when compared to a treadmill without compromising on the workout. It has been redesigned to fit more people and more scenarios that come with a flexible life. It is also 20 lbs lighter and takes up to 45% less space than the older model. I love that it has a noise reduction feature so it can be accommodated in different rooms without disturbance. “Equipped with premium materials of the frame and the running belt, we aim to deliver the best workout experience at your home. Wake up to a morning walk at home when it’s raining or burn some calories before going to bed; WalkingPad S1 is your perfect solution to an efficient and effective daily exercise – anytime, anywhere,” says the team.

It comes embedded with a feet sensory technology that allows you to adjust and control your pace automatically based on your personalized training data (eg. HIIT training!). There is a pressure sensor at the bottom of the workout appliance that accurately measures your position change. If you want to increase the speed, simply walk to the front of the pad and it will accelerate intuitively. Once you’ve reached your desired speed, move back to the middle of the pad, and it will maintain the speed for you. To stop just walk towards the back of the pad and the belt will slow down steadily to a halt. By identifying different areas, the rate of speed changes accordingly and reduces the chances of you losing your balance when you have to manually control the speed while exercising. If needed, it comes with a detachable handlebar for those who may need support or are dependent. Safety comes first and the S1 will automatically stop if no movements were detected on the running belt. “The pre-set speed limit intends to avoid any injury due to operational errors making it perfect for senior citizens as well. The anti-slip mat is made out of EVA material and it has less friction coefficient when exercising,” assures the team.

An alternative to traditional treadmills, the WalkingPad S1 adopts a patented foldable design that allows you to literally fold it in half and store it anywhere. It occupies minimal space and can be stored vertically or horizontally, so if you have a small space or office you can still get your steps in without rearranging all your furniture! Another feature that stands out in the WalkingPad S1 when compared to a treadmill is the noise. A treadmill would generate a noise reading at a range of 65 dB on the sound scale which is a significant amount while the WalkingPad S1 minimizes the noise to an average of 45 dB. The embedded power engine increases durability while reducing noise which makes it a better fit for any environment and especially shared spaces. You can control the WalkingPad S1 using the remote control, their own app, or simply by walking. Watch my steps go from 41 to 10,000 because I will be walking while I work, cook, and watch Netflix!
