These Tiny Robots are Ready to Invade Your Neckline

If you are a fan of robots, or just want to ingratiate yourself to them before they take over the world, check out Tiny Robots. Their shop is loaded with all kinds of cool robot accessories like pendants, earrings, bracelets, hair clips and other stuff with tiny robots on them. Each one is made from old electronic parts and bits of hardware.

They add new tiny robots all the time, so there’s something for everyone. You know what’s even cooler? Each tiny robot comes with a certificate of authenticity. Actually, it’s even better. You get a certificate of adoption where you can add the robot’s name and the date of adoption. Now you are a parent! Yea!

My favorites are the robot pendants because they look like robots trapped in clear amber, perhaps dug up by some future civilization. While most of the robots they make are tiny, they do offer some bigger robots too.

There are more robots then you can shake an electric stick at between the Tiny Robots website and their Etsy shop. The robots in their shop are pretty darn adorable. You’ll pick one of these little dudes, and then find like ten in your cart. I suppose that’s fine, because you can’t have too many cute robot accessories. Do yourself a favor and check out all of their robot offerings.

Dell and Nikki Reed harvest gold from old laptops for jewelry

Dell's no longer just an electronics company -- it now makes jewelry too (sort of). It has teamed up with actor and activist Nikki Reed on The Circular Collection, which comprises pieces made from gold recovered from Dell computer motherboards. These...

Ctrl-Alt-Del Keyboard Ring: Punch to Reset

They’re three little keys that every Windows user dreads having to use, but Ctrl-Alt-Del have been part of PC life since all the way back in the 1980s. If you’ve endured your share of soft reboots and Task Manager app quits, then wear these as as a badge of honor with this awesome ring.

Joy Complex’s cast steel statement ring looks almost as badass as a set of brass knuckles, but I don’t recommend using it to punch your computer monitor or the guy at Geek Squad who told you that all your data is gone.

The Ctrl-Alt-Del ring is available in a few different steel finishes, and a variety of sizes over on JoyComplex’s Etsy shop, and prices range from $80 to $90. They need to make a “Command-Option-Esc” version for Mac users.

Glow-in-the-Dark Carbon Fiber Rings Is Modern Jewelry at Its Best

Other than tradition, there’s really no reason that jewelry has to be made from precious metals and gemstones. Personally, I’d rather wear one of these slick glow-in-the-dark rings, fabricated from carbon fiber.

Israel-based Composite Corporation handmakes these rings using carbon fiber and composite materials, along with epoxy resin, and a special phosphorescent powder. The resulting pieces look super cool day or night. When the lights are on, you see that sleek and technical carbon fiber texture, when they’re off, they glow quite brilliantly.

The rings’ makers don’t specify how long you need to charge them, or how long they glow, but there are phosphorescent powders out there that can last anywhere from 15 minutes to 15 hours, depending on the color, so I’m guessing the same applies here. Greens have a tendency to glow longest, followed by blues, with yellows and reds having the shortest glow times.

They’re available in a variety of designs and colors over on their Etsy shop, with prices starting at $79(USD), and each one can be custom ordered to your exact ring size.

Encode Ring Takes Your Voice, Makes It Into A Ring

3d-gold-ring-1170x652

A recording of your voice can easily be visualized in a computer with a waveform printout. You can say something cheesy like “I love you”, and you’ll see your voiceprint as a series of peaks and valleys representing the audio waves generated by your voice. Now a company called Encore Ring can take this waveform and turn it into a ring for you. When you visit the company website, you’ll be prompted to record a 3 second message which they’ll visualize for you and will even convert into a 3D model of the ring you could decide to purchase. You simply have to choose which type of metal you want, and select a ring size. Prices start at ¥12,960 (roughly $124USD) for a stainless steel ring, and go all the way up to ¥129,600 ($1,235USD) for Platinum.

It’s very similar to the Sound Advice Project we wrote about in 2009, and which proved to be a runaway success.

R2-D2 and C-3PO Best Friends Necklaces: Droids4Ever

I always thought C-3PO was sort of a dick to R2-D2. He was always smug and giving R2 a hard time even though R2 turns out to know best most of the time. Still, they are best friends, so go figure. If you have a bestie and you need a gift for the holidays here is the perfect thing.

3p0-pals-1

The two necklaces together make a heart and each half of the heart is printed with one of the droids you are looking for. The necklaces are made of stainless steel and on the back it says “Best Friends.”
