A cradle that grows transforms into a rocking horse and folds as a suitcase, ready to journey!

When it comes to designing a space for our little bundles of joy, a crib that promises not only a safe and comfortable haven but a world of imaginative possibilities is a definite winner. Case in point, Schwan! Designed to make your baby smile even in their sleep, Schwan is far and beyond this idea. It ensures that every stage of your baby’s growth is met with excitement and comfort.

To that accord, this is a cradle that literally grows out of its essential idea of a cradle into one that doubles as a rocking horse or triples as a suitcase to be carried along when you shift base with your toddler. Beat that!

In its primary feature, Schwan provides a plush sleeping surface that delicately cradles your baby’s growing body. The ergonomic design ensures that your little one enjoys a restful sleep, night after night. But the magic doesn’t stop there.

As your baby starts to explore the world around them, Schwan transforms into a rocking horse: a delightful combination of entertainment and exercise. With a comfortable seat and handles perfectly sized for tiny hands to grip, this rocking horse feature becomes a source of endless joy. The gentle rocking motion not only brings giggles but also has a calming effect.

This safe haven for your child’s sleep and playtime adventures takes on yet another guise – that of a suitcase – with a simple flip and a few folds. The innovative crib becomes a convenient travel companion as foldable legs and a secure lid ensure that your baby’s essentials are packed away neatly, ready to journey.

As parents, we’re always seeking the best for our children. We want them to feel safe, cherished, and inspired. Schwan beautifully captures these aspirations, offering not just a cradle, but a whole world of possibilities with its image of a memory-maker on wheels!

Horseman of the modern world!

trote_chair_1

The Trote chair is an excellent example of combining work and play. Not only does it function as a proper chair with a dedicated table-space for your gadgets or work related paraphernalia, it rocks too! Literally!

Functional, yet frolicking at heart, the chair has the look and feel of a seating device, but the spirit of a rocking horse! Made out of cushioned fabric, the chair is comfortable, and an ideal pick for workspaces where having fun is as important as being productive.

The Trote Chair is a part of Wayon’s display at the Salone Satellite in Milan this year.

Audi Rocks!

audi_rocking_horse_10

Whoever gets this for their kid is the coolest parent ever! The rocking horse is often the first driver-like experience we all have as little ones. Another unforgettable experience is the first time we sit in our mom or dad’s car and pretend to “drive”.

Designed with these sentiments in mind, this ultramodern rocking horse aims to give kids an Audi of their own! It’s the purest form of the rocking horse, largely inspired by Audi’s design guide. Its polished carbon fiber is in keeping with the brand language and makes it highly durable for years of play!

Rocking Horsepower!

nok_rockinmoto_1

Who rides horses anymore?? No one. Then why do little kids have to ride wooden ones? I mean, what are we preparing them for?! Nextofkin, or NOK Creatives designed this awesome rocking horse series that gives kids the taste of something slightly more contemporary. Built with amazing detail, comfortable seats, a mock headlight with handlebars, and even adorable little helmets (hey, we need to teach them road etiquette from the start), the NOK Rockin’ Moto is the perfect upgrade to the century old wooden rocking horse design!

Hipster Horsie

Expose young minds to creativity and it really nourishes them mentally. That’s one way in which designers are made! The Epona is a rocking horse for your little toddler that’s re-purposed from old copper cables. Many would be cautious about letting kids close to copper wire and whatnot, but hey I wouldn’t worry too much about it. I’m absolutely loving this horse’s quirky visual appeal! I’ll just have to give it a few minus points for using Rabbit fur for the saddle. *sad face*

DIY Speeder Bike Rocker: Back and Forth of the Jedi

The last time we featured Instructables Tez_Gelmir was for the portable LEGO building station he made for his son. This time it’s for a kickass speeder bike rocker that he made for his 1-year old daughter.

star_wars_speeder_bike_rocker_by_tez_gelmir_1zoom in

Tez_Gelmir made the rocking speeder bike out of plwyood, steel tubing and a variety of 3D printed parts, including the hull. He also installed a used DC motor to make the rocker’s power turbine spin, and added an LED and sound effects to the  blaster.

Safety is the point of this ride. Hover to Instructables for Tez_Gelmir’s build log.

Bob rocks!

Bob is an eco-friendly, minimalist version of the rocking horse that was designed to not only reduce waste but keep childhood memories alive! Once little ones have outgrown the horse, it transforms into a seat by hiding the rockers under the main body. Use it as a functional keepsake and then pass it on when your kids have little ones of their own!

AT-AT Rocking Horse

AT-AT Rocking Horse  You know how we are crazy for all things Star Wars, right? Well, here is another example of creativity at its finest. Jen over at EPBOT got an incredible idea to create an AT-AT rocking horse from scratch. Why would one want to take on such a task as this when rocking horses are not the kids dream toy these days? Because she can!

The picture above is of the project in the beginning stages the finished project is shown below. As you can see from the finished result she put a lot of time and effort into this. It sounds like she will be posting the pattern for the rocking horse on her site soon. Also, if you are interested in this one, she is working with Florida Garrison of the 501st on having a silent auction at Megacon in Orlando, FL on March 21-23.

Get out Your Tow Cables, the AT-AT Rocking Horse Is Finished

Remember that AT-AT rocking horse that we all wanted, even though it wasn’t even painted or detailed? Well, now it is finished. Behold the rocking horse for young Imperial forces in training.

This was one of the coolest kids toys we had seen in some time and now that it is finished, it looks even cooler and we want one. Cakewrecks and EPBOT creator Jen Yates has finally finished this masterpiece and it has all the right details.

She added a seat back and an extra sturdy T-bar handle for safety, along with some extra-long bumpers on the bottom rails to prevent it from rocking too far. To quote Vader, “Most impressive!”
