A sleek detachable handle transforms this iron frying pan into a handsome plate

There’s nothing more appetizing than seeing a scrumptious meal placed in an eye-catching arrangement on your plate. While all food ends up the same way in our bellies, making a good first impression is not something that should be taken for granted. Chefs take great care when arranging food on plates, but those of us who cook at home might not have the same talent. Or perhaps you simply want to cut out the middle man and just eat immediately after a meal has been cooked. Whichever way you want it to go, this iron frying pan and plate in one lets you do exactly that and in a beautiful design that embodies Japanese minimalism.

It might sound ridiculous at first. Why would anyone want to eat out of a frying pan in the first place? Of course, that question is valid if you only consider those large, messy, and sticky frying pans in everyone’s kitchens. JIU, however, is different. You could almost say that it’s a plate that you can cook your food on or a frying plate with a removable handle. Whatever you call it, it’s definitely a novel way to look at cooking and eating.

Part of the secret of what makes this proposition both possible and even attractive is the uncoated, thick iron plate that makes up the body of the plate or frying pan. Thanks to this material, you can cook food slowly under low heat, never letting natural juices go to waste and keeping the crispiness of the ingredients inside. And since you don’t have to transfer the food from pan to plate, you can enjoy your meal while it’s warm.

Of course, one of the reasons why people will think it’s crazy to eat from a frying pan is because of the cookware’s handle that will undoubtedly get in the way. This is easily solved with an innovative, patent-pending design that’s genius in its simplicity. The sliding mechanism will let you easily attach and detach that wooden handle as needed, latching securely onto the wide rim of the plate to give stability when lifting the metal vessel, never touching the food at any point.

As a frying pan, the JIU isn’t “seasoned” or treated, so it’s ready to use right out of the packaging. It’s stick-resistant and easy to clean, so you don’t even need detergent to wash off remnants on the pan. Best of all, it looks quite stylish in its minimalism, the dark iron surface letting the colors of the food really pop out. Now you no longer have to worry about styling your food after transferring it to your plate because your plate is the same pan you cooked your food on. With this iron frying plate, cooking and eating become one.

These circuit board coasters let you get your geek on at parties

Many people probably want to impress guests with their furniture and home decor during social gatherings. Those can go anywhere from a new coffee table to a fancy shelf to maybe even a hi-tech gaming desk. Occasions such as these often involve drinks in glasses or even bottles that could ruin the otherwise pristine surfaces of wood, metal, or even plastic. That’s how coasters strike two birds with one stone, protecting furniture while also showing off some of your tastes. Coasters can come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and designs, some even sticking to a specific theme. This set, for example, is a fine way to spark your guests’ interest and subtly flaunt your inner geek.

Designer: MODelivery

There was a time when being labeled as a “geek” meant the end of your social life. While some of that stigma still remains today, “geek culture” has become a more widely accepted phenomenon that is earning big bucks too. Superhero movies and shows are billion-dollar businesses as much as gaming continues to be. Almost everyone knows how to use computers these days, and some are even pushing for programming to become a basic subject taught to grade school students.

This wider acceptance is partly thanks to the role that computers and electronic devices play in today’s civilization, and nothing represents such products better than the good old PCB or printed circuit board. Acting as the nervous system of computers and advanced electronics, circuit boards are easily identifiable and memorable for decades, unlike floppy disks. And as it turns out, they make pretty good decorative products as well.

These coasters are the real deal, at least as far as the accuracy of their lines or traces goes, as well as the materials used for their production. The patterns are actually based on a real PCB for a microcontroller, not unlike the popular Arduino that modders and makers just love to use. Instead of simple copper, however, the traces use a super-thin layer of gold to make them really stand out and retain their luster over time.

These aren’t just for show, of course, as the coasters are also treated to make them insensitive to extreme temperatures. This makes them perfect for setting down any kind of drink, be it a cold soda can or a hot mug of coffee. Whether you’re showing off at parties with like-minded individuals or just looking for a coaster that reflects your interests, these PCB coasters definitely offer an eye-catching way to protect your table from stains and precipitation.

These cups are made from recycled coffee waste. They’re reusable, shatter-proof, and smell like coffee!

Show me a better way to profess your love for caffeine than to drink coffee from a cup made out of coffee!

Meet the Kreis Cup, a coffee cup that’s sustainable, durable, and designed to enhance your coffee drinking experience! Available in cup and travel-mug styles, the Kreis Cup is a reusable cup made from used coffee grounds and plant-based materials, free of petroleum-based plastics. It is heat resistant and designed to keep your coffee hot longer. That being said, the Kreis Cup is still ultimately biodegradable, unlike plastic-based to-go mugs you get at your local cafe, or the breakable ceramic mugs you use at home. Once it reaches the end of its lifespan, the Kreis Cup disintegrates easily into the soil, leaving absolutely nothing behind.

Given that it’s the world’s third-most consumed beverage, coffee generates tonnes of waste globally. Once the coffee is brewed, the coffee grounds are discarded, making up a significant amount of food waste generated on a recurring basis. In fact, it’s estimated that every year, the world generates a quarter-million tonnes of coffee grounds – a staggering amount of which just gets thrown in a landfill or dumped in the oceans. However, these grounds can be reused and upcycled rather cleverly. Designed to champion a circular economy, the Kreis Cup is made from spent coffee grounds that have been dried, treated, and are then suspended in a natural, plant-based polymer. The result doesn’t just look as rich as your coffee grounds do, but it has a faint, unmistakable smell of coffee. The polymer which holds the grounds together is also food-safe, heat-resistant, and incredibly resilient, unlike ceramic cups/mugs which shatter as soon as they hit the floor.

Made exclusively using coffee waste and a bio-polymer binder, Kreis solves two key problems with coffee consumption. Not only does it recycle the coffee grounds that get thrown in landfills, but it also reduces human dependence on travel cups/mugs, which are a separate and equally large problem! The Kreis Cups, on the other hand, are reusable, promoting you to generate lesser waste. They’re also break-proof, which means they last longer, dishwasher-safe, which makes them easy to maintain, and have a natural propensity to retain heat for longer than ceramic cups. Pretty neat, eh? The only caveat? You can’t use the Kreis to drink tea, juice, or anything else, given the lingering smell of coffee that come from these cups.

The Kreis Cup comes as a set of three products – a 14oz (415ml) travel mug with a detachable sipper lid, a 12oz (335ml) cup, and a saucer to complement the cup. The travel mug is ideal for your on-the-go caffeine requirements while the cup and saucer are perfect for savoring your fresh brew at home. The Kreis Cups are reusable, durable, and offer an alternative that’s healthy for the environment while ensuring you generate less waste. However, when you’re done with the Kreis Cup, it will safely biodegrade into the ground, leaving nothing behind but nutrient-rich fertilizer for the soil!

Fadi baby bowl teaches little tots self-feeding

FADI Learning Tableware for Toddlers

Teaching kids proper table manners begins at home so it is mainly the responsibility of the parents or guardians or whoever is the primary caregiver. Knowing the proper tableware is a good start but what is more important is that children know how to feed themselves. Many will probably agree that knowing how a tool or tableware works is just half the battle because kids need to learn how to self-feed after some time. Allowing a baby or a toddler to feed himself acknowledges his power to make his own choices even at an early age. It’s just food, alright, but the act is good for a child’s development as it also aids in developing hand-and-eye coordination, hand and finger strength, and fine motor skills. This is true in most cases, but it can be observed that there are toddlers having a hard time learning self-control if they are still spoon-fed.

Designer: Jian Lu

FADI Learning Tableware for Kids

Solutions for such a dilemma are available, but everything is not absolute, because what we are offered is only supplemental to what the adults should teach the children. Fadi enters the scene to teach a little person to self-feed while helping the adults and reducing the cleaning time for parents after a messy meal. Of course, toddlers will still be frustrated, but the Fadi tableware is expected to assist both the child in self-feeding and the parent in caring for the little one.

FADI Learning Tableware

FADI Learning Tableware Features

The Fadi baby tableware was recognized at the 2021 Good Design Awards for its thoughtful design, features, and aesthetics. Designed by Jian Lu, the patented learning tableware set is meant to allow a more efficient self-feeding and easier cleanup. A toddler’s utensil set should not be complicated and must be easier to use; however, some styles available in the market are not exactly helpful.

FADI Learning Tableware Advantage

FADI Learning Tableware Benefits

Taiwanese industrial designer Jian Lu understands the need for simple-looking yet functional tableware because feeding a kid is not really easy, so he designed the tableware with efficiency and comfort in mind. The whole set actually includes different pieces: the toddler bowl with a lopsided design and a suction, a standable bent spoon with a curved handle, and a TPU cover. The suction keeps the bowl from slipping, the bent spoon is to make things easier for the toddler to carry food, while the spoon with its bigger handle is for easier grabbing.  The design of the Fadi allows a more enjoyable mealtime experience for everyone, and after a delightful meal, carrying out and washing are also easier.

FADI Learning Tableware Concept

This concept tableware is mainly a baby bowl that can teach the baby to learn to self-feed. The bowl won’t slip or fall off because of the strong suction, so even if the baby wants to release it, the bowl won’t fall. The Fadi tableware offers many other thoughtful functions so every mealtime can be enjoyable for the tiny tot. A happy baby means a happy mommy—so yes, what parent wouldn’t want to have this?

This teacup’s split design celebrates the history of ceramic design in both the east and west

The Hybrid Coffee Cup Eufemia’s design isn’t a glitch – it’s a side-by-side comparison of what ceramics and porcelain drinkware looked like on either side of the globe.

The distinct split in the cup and saucer’s design is a pretty clear indication of the split running along eastern and western cultures. While the use of ceramic is constant throughout the entire cup, the artwork on either half, and even the design of the cup and saucer are distinctly different. This duality isn’t to create a rift in the two cultures, it’s to celebrate their union and their unique histories.

Designer: CtrlZak for Seletti

The Hybrid Coffee Cup Eufemia comes made from Bone China Porcelain, with a two-part design that honors eastern and western cultures respectively. The eastern side is decorated in blue, as is found with most traditional ancient Chinese and Japanese porcelainware. The cup is slightly shorter, to honor the tea-drinking traditions of the east, and the saucer is perfectly circular with artistic detailing all around and on the edge.

While the eastern half of the cup has oriental artwork depicting an outdoor scene with a woman in a kimono, the western side has a more Victorian depiction of a gentleman courting a woman in the outdoors. The cup sports golden accents and a refined Victorian-style cup handle, and has a lip that’s higher than the one on the eastern side, a feature in English teacups because they added milk to their tea. The saucer is different too, with a detailed edge that’s almost flower-esque.

The Hybrid Coffee Cup Eufemia (it personally feels more suited for tea than coffee) is a rather wonderful fusion of cultures and styles from the years gone by. Designed to be less of a utilitarian beverage-holding vessel and more of a cultural tapestry, the cup comes with hand-painted artwork on it and is made out of precious Bone China porcelain rather than your average ceramic glazed cups. Each Hybrid Cup Euphemia is made in Tangshan, or the Bone China capital of the world.

These chopsticks give you a mini Jedi moment while eating in the dark

You’re not supposed to eat in the dark in the first place, but this tool will at least make it less cumbersome when you do.

Ever since the day computers invaded our homes, it has been common wisdom not to eat in front of it. In addition to potentially attracting ants or insects, the grease and the crumbs that fall off our hands could damage some parts of the computer, especially the keyboards. Such wisdom is often lost on gamers, who sometimes, by necessity, have to eat their life-saving bag of chips, which means there’s no avoiding getting those crumbs on your keyboard. You can master the art of eating with chopsticks, which is still an insurmountable challenge in the dark room of stereotypical gamers. Not unless you have special chopsticks that give a Jedi-like glow and feel to your late night snacking.

Designer: Thirdwave Co., Ltd.

Eating chips with chopsticks might sound ridiculous, but you shouldn’t be surprised that it is quite normal in cultures that rely on these utensils more than spoons and forks. It also sounds inefficient since our bare fingers are better at gently gripping thin and fragile objects like chips. That said, it does have the advantage of saving your fingers and your computer from the oils and crumbs that accumulate after getting in close contact with food. It won’t save you from the food you accidentally drop even using the chopsticks, of course.

While eating with chopsticks might already be challenging for some people, imagine having to do that in a dark room lit only by a computer monitor and RGB lights from your computer. Gamers are often seen in such settings and are also most often the ones that need to keep their keyboards and mice clean while taking nourishment in the middle of an intense raid. Leave it to the Japanese to think of a solution that not only works but also has some quirky side benefits to its design.

These LED gaming chopsticks might have a generic name, but their appearance will most likely imprint on your mind forever. The idea is pretty simple, actually. You have chopsticks that have a transparent body that allows colored light to shine from an LED module on the end of each stick. You now longer have to grope in the dark for your chips, plus the sticks look like mini Jedi (or Sith) lightsabers, which is appropriate given your Jedi-like skills in eating chips with chopsticks while playing games.

As you would expect from any gaming accessory with RGB lighting, you will be able to select your preferred color. You can have both sticks match or have them clash like dueling swords. You can even have them match the general color scheme of your gaming station, though you’ll have to do that manually rather than have it automatically sync with your Razer Chroma peripherals.

The chopsticks are guaranteed to be heat resistant up to 100 C, and you probably wouldn’t put anything in your mouth that’s above that temperature anyway. As for putting things in your mouth, the LED gaming chopsticks are advertised to have passed “food hygiene inspection.” Just don’t forget to take out the LED modules before you wash the chopsticks, or you might find yourself back to a primitive way of eating chips with your hands.

This magnetic cast iron and wooden scoop is your essential companion to brewing that perfect morning coffee

Face the day full of life with a beautiful tool that starts your morning right.

When we do things day in and day out, they tend to take on an almost mechanical nature. Sure, it becomes second nature and allows us to go on autopilot to think of something else, but it sometimes also causes us to go through life like zombies. Being mindful and intentional with some of our actions is also important for certain activities and certain times of the day, especially when our brains are just waking up for the day. We all have visual cues or triggers that cause our minds to pause and take stock of our surroundings, and sometimes, that can be a single, simple thing like a well-crafted and beautiful tool that we’ll use to scoop up coffee beans and grounds that will fuel us for the rest of the day.

Click Here to Buy Now: $39 $45 (15% off). Hurry, only 5/75 left!

It’s too easy to take for granted the tools we use for our everyday activities, like the utensils we put into our mouths or the scoops we use to make coffee. A well-designed background shouldn’t get in the way, of course, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be beautiful while being functional and valuable at the same time. A plastic scoop can work fine, but one that is beautifully crafted does more than just hold coffee grounds. It can also be the gateway to a state of calm.

The Cofee Iron Scoop is a prime example of how a product can do more than what it’s meant to do without actually doing anything. It’s a Zen-like metaphor that fits perfectly with the motif of this Japanese-inspired kitchen tool. It is made of materials born of the Earth, with a cast iron scoop whose dark gray surface contrasts and complements its handle. Made of walnut wood, that handle not only brings comfort to each touch but also some personality thanks to the grains that are unique to each and every piece.

Together, the iron and wood scoop makes a handy tool whose primary purpose is to help make you the perfect cup of coffee each and every time. The scoop is designed to hold 10 grams of coffee grounds, which is just the right amount to make a single cup. To ensure the user’s safety, the cast iron is coated with SGS-certified and US FDA-complaint Teflon. The scoop also has a special trick, thanks to its modest composition. That metal head can magnetically attach to any metal surface. This will let you keep it close and out in the open, ready for use, rather than hiding it inside a drawer that you have to search each time.

Simple yet elegant, this coffee scoop provides a gentle visual nudge to your brain, making you become more aware of your actions as you make your morning drink, encouraging you to take a breath and smell the coffee. Its dual-tone design also makes it the perfect partner to our ceramic mug, designed to look like cast iron with a wooden handle. Waking up couldn’t get more Zen than this!

This Pasta Bowl was designed to highlight the imperfect beauty of Parmigiano Reggiano’s cheese

Designed as an entry for this year’s 2022 Parmigiano Reggiano Design Challenge, Tomás Neumann’s pasta bowl sits at the very intersection of food and design. The bowl looks instantly familiar to the keen eye with its texture, color, and unique uneven surface. Rendered in KeyShot, Neumann cleverly managed to make the rim of his pasta bowl look like the cracked mountainlike surface of a Parmigiano Reggiano cheese wheel when it’s cracked open for the first time. Coincidentally enough, the uneven texture also pays tribute to the Apennine Mountains in the Reggio Emilia region, from where we get Parmigiano Reggiano cheese even to this very day!

The Parmigiano Reggiano Design Challenge is now in its second year, looking for products that elevate the human experience, inspired by the culinary works of world-renowned chefs. Launched in partnership with iconic Italian brands Kartell and Alessi, Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium is issuing its annual design challenge to creatives, inviting them to “imagine Masterpieces for the Table inspired by food.”

Designer: Tomás Neumann

Neumann’s entry pays the perfect tribute to the iconic Pasta Cacio e Pepe. Given the dish’s deeply intertwined history with the Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, this made it a perfect pick! Neumann’s pasta bowl, titled “Appennino Interiore” (or Apennine Within) highlights and celebrates the mountainous texture that’s formed when a wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano is broken into. The hard cheese’s crystalline surface ruptures unevenly, creating a miniature Apennine-like surface that’s packed with the cheese’s signature aged flavor. That flavor is accentuated not just through the pasta, but through the dish it’s presented in. The Appennino Interiore is designed with an iconic textured rim, while also boasting of a grain-like pattern that’s a hat-tip to the texture found on the rind of the cheese wheel, left behind by the fabric it’s tied up in. The Appennino Interiore is also designed to be sustainably made. Neumann mentions that the bowl is, in fact, made from a “food-grade biodegradable resin/Linen composite that utilizes discarded linen cheesecloth from the cheese production, adding this to a list of already recycled and upcycled by-products of Parmigiano Reggiano production.”

This guilt-free fiberglass cutlery set will let you dine in style anywhere

After more than a year of being stuck indoors, people have finally started meeting their urge to go out and enjoy the great outdoors. Some have even started working on their “revenge travel” plans. Whatever the reason or the distance, food is almost always involved, which often means dealing with utensils to eat them with. Cutlery has never been high on a lot of people’s priorities until they find themselves dealing with fragile plastic forks, bulky spoons, or deadweight knives. Carrying your own cutlery, even just for your meals at the office, can feel like a burden and a chore unless you get this handsome set that’s not only lightweight and easy to clean but also has an interesting sustainability story to tell.

Designer: Gary Lin

Click Here to Buy Now: $41.65 $49 (15% off). Hurry, sale ends May 3.

Utensils we carry around all the time are one of two kinds. There are the typical metal ones that can be a literal drag, weighing down our bags and taking up a lot of unnecessary space. On the opposite extreme is the typical plastic cutlery that weighs next to nothing and is also practically useless against tougher food. And despite their unassuming demeanor and clean, white surfaces, these are vicious killers of the planet like most plastics are.

Lightweight, toxin-free, and resistant to corrosion, making it the most ideal portable cutlery to help you go eco-friendly.

That is what sets the S+ Cutlery apart, offering the best of both worlds without the guilt. Taking advantage of Glass Fiber-Reinforced Polymers or GFRP, these utensils wrap lightness and durability in a reusable and recyclable package. And you won’t have to worry about that last part anytime soon anyway because these things are made to last a long time.

GFRP weighs about 6 times less than stainless steel and 3 times less than titanium.

GFRP is known for how light it is while still boasting mechanical strength, which means your knife and fork aren’t going to break on you just because that steak wasn’t cooked the way you liked it. As if that weren’t enough for portability, each of the members of this set can be split in half for even more compact storage. Thanks to medical-grade 316 stainless steel inside, it’s easy to screw and unscrew the parts but still maintains a firm connection so they won’t just suddenly split on you.

Free of n-Hexane / Cadmium / Mercury / Lead / PBBs / PBDEs / DBP / BBP / DEHP / DIBP, so you won’t be consuming toxic elements when enjoying your favorite meal.

Most travel utensils are also a headache when it comes to cleaning up. Of course, you’ll just throw plastic ones away, but that doesn’t mean they won’t ruin your dinner as it happens by soaking in too many sauces or oils from other foods. This cutlery, on the other hand, is resistant to odors, stains, heat (up to 110 °C or 230 °F), and acid or alkali. It’s the all-rounder tool you can use to poke, scoop up, or cut anything and everything you’d put in your mouth (that is edible, hopefully). Even better, it’s easy to wash, either by hand or inside a dishwasher.

This cutlery set includes anything and everything you need to enjoy your meal, including a fork, a spoon, a serrated-edge knife, and chopsticks. There’s even a chopsticks rest, so you don’t have to worry about where to place them when you’re not holding them in your hands. Of course, there’s an equally beautiful carrying case in matching color to safely stow your utensils after use. With this glass fiber-reinforced cutlery set, you’ll be able to focus on enjoying your meal using a handsome set of tools and feel good about doing your part in helping protect the environment, too.
