Hasbro Unveils Dancing Groot Vol. 2

Dancing Groot is back! Hasbro has unveiled a new figure, which I like to call Dancing Groot 2: Electric Boogaloo.

This sound-detecting and limb-shaking Groot collectible stands 11.5-inches tall. It lights up when it plays and dances to a music clip from the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 soundtrack, which is sure to be awesome. You can use your own tunes too, and when the music is playing, Groot’s eyes light up and his roots move to the beat.

He’ll cost you $34.99(USD) and will be available in the Spring of 2017. Now you and Groot can dance the night away! Now is the time on Sprockets when we dance!

Baby Groot USB Car Charger Dances to Your Music

The only thing that I want from a Baby Groot USB Car Charger is dancing. Lots of dancing. Fortunately, this Groot delivers. Just bring him along in your car and he will dance around to your music all day long.

He can also charge two tablets simultaneously, thanks to two 2.1A USB charging ports. It is compatible with anything that charges via USB as long as you have the cable. He will sit in your cup holder and dance until you get tired of him, which honestly, I can’t see happening. Baby Groot will also work on your desktop via a USB input if you don’t want to leave him in the car all day.

Dancing Baby Groot Mug Wants Your Coffee Black

If you stayed to see the after credit scene in Guardians of the Galaxy, you saw baby Groot growing back after being destroyed while helping his friends survive the spaceship crash. Baby Groot was probably the cutest thing about that movie, if not during the entire summer of 2014.

Groot fans will want this Guardians of the Galaxy Dancing Baby Groot mug. Groot doesn’t actually dance but he has his little tree arms in the air, waving like he just doesn’t care. Groot is on the lid of the mug and the works sort of looks like the pot Groot was planted in from the film.

When you remove the lid, Groot goes with it and it will look like a plain white mug. The lid should keep bugs out of your coffee, so there’s that too. The mug sells for $14.99(USD) on ThinkGeek.

Join Geeky Hooker’s 2015 San Diego Comic-Con Amigurumi Hunt!

Geeky Hooker loves to crochet amigurumi. Sometimes she sells them, but mostly she gives them away by dropping them off at various locations. She’s at the San Diego Comic-Con this week, and she’s hiding eight of her creations for anyone to find. Up for grabs are Star-Lord, Groot, a white walker, Chewbacca, Baymax, Batman, Scarecrow and the cutest Deadpool you’ll ever see.

To join her hunt, follow Geeky Hooker on Twitter and watch out for her #CRITTERDROP tweets, where she’ll drop clues on the location of an amigurumi. She’ll only place one amigurumi at a time, and she says there will be times when “you’ll have to work for your critter.”

Groot Spores Bracelet: Grootlet

Guardians of the Galaxy was the best of all the Marvel movies in my opinion. It had plenty of action and it was funny to boot making it great fun to watch. I can’t wait for the next movie to come out. One of my favorite characters was Groot, a tree of few words.

If you have a lady friend that is a big Groot fan, you can get hands on this Groot Spores Bracelet. From a distance, it looks like a wide bracelet, but up close, you can see a Groot wood pattern and yellow spore thingies.

It’s stretchy so it should fit most folks no matter your wrist size. This is a neat bit of Groot fan gear that you can pick up at ThinkGeek for $24.99(USD).

Doctor Groot T-Shirt (aka “I Am Doctor”)

And I thought the War Doctor had it bad, not fitting in and being an outsider. If you have ever dreamed of Groot being a Time Lord, this is the shirt for you. One thing is for sure. This Doctor is not going to be talking his way out of bad situations.

He would have to have Rocket for a companion. Time Lord Groot would be pretty awesome and since we can’t see him on the BBC, you should at least get this cool shirt. It is called “I am Doctor” and features Groot as each of the 12 Doctors.

It is just $10 from shirt woot. I’m totally buying one.

3D Printed Geeky Laughing Buddhas: What is the Sound of One Han Shooting?

Tap into the force of Luck with Chris “muckychris” Milnes’ 3D printed geeky Budai statues, which swaps the jelly bellied deity’s head with characters from Star Wars and other sci-fi franchises.

As much as I love Groot and Rocket’s two for one deal, I think Palpatine is the only one that fits seamlessly into the monk’s body. That’s creepy. Chris sells the statues on his Etsy shop. They’re available in three sizes: $8 (USD) for 2″, $18 for 4″ and $28 for 6″.

Hot Toys Baby Groot Toy is Grootsome

I tried to get my ten-year-old daughter to go with me and my son to see Guardians of the Galaxy in the theater. She said it looked “lame” and refused to go. I thought it was the best movie of the year and when it finally hit video, I fired it up, and she watched it with me. She ended up liking the film very much and her favorite character was Groot.

groot-ht-1zoom in

When Groot was smashed during the crash, she asked a billion times if he was dead. When they put Groot in the pot and started to grow him back, she thought that was awesome. If you like baby potted Groot as well you will love this 1/4-scale Little Groot collectable from Hot Toys. If you thought the movie groot was tiny, this one is even smaller, measuring just 4.75″ tall.

groot-ht-3 groot-ht-4 groot-ht-5 groot-ht-6 groot-ht-7 groot-ht-2

It has movable arms and has three interchangeable heads. The body of little Groot is flexible as well. The best news is that this Groot is affordable, which isn’t something that can be said of Hot Toys collectables. It will ship in January for $44.99(USD), and you can pre-order him now over at Sideshow Collectibles.
