Han Solo Frozen in Carbonite Plush: Han Softo

I remember watching The Empire Strikes Back as a kid for the first time. When Lando betrayed Han and Han ended up frozen I wanted to kill Lando. If you are a fan of that scene and want a new plush to love (I know) you will want this plush Han Solo in carbonite doll… (nope)… stuffed animal… (nope)… whatever it is, you want it.

It’s much softer than real carbonite and debuted at the ThinkGeek SDCC booth this year. You can get it directly from the website if you missed it at the show. It sells for a scant $11.99 at ThinkGeek, a fraction of the bounty on Han. It’s 7.75″ (h) x 5.5″ (w) x 3.5″ (d), and meant for ages 3 and up. It might make a nice little pillow for watching the movies for the 197,965th time.

Star Wars Black Series Han Solo Action Figure Just Looks Weird

I always liked Han Solo; he has been one of my favorite characters in Star Wars since the original trilogy back in the day. I was pretty mad when they (Spoiler Alert) killed Han off in the newest film. I only let it slide because Han was seriously old. I could only think, “man he’s old” each time I saw him on film.

This Force Awakens Han Solo Black Series action figure is kind of weird though. The image on the box looks like Harrison Ford, but the face of the action figure is all wrong if you ask me.

It’s almost like old Harrison Ford played young Han Solo in a cartoon version of The Force Awakens and they made the action figure based on that. Or, maybe this action figure is Han Solo after a round of plastic surgery and botox.

If you absolutely must have this deformed Han Solo for your collection for the sheer novelty, you can order one from Amazon for about $24. Reviewers say the head sculpt actually looks better than it looks, but caveat emptor.

LEGO Star Wars Minifigs in Ship Costumes: A New KanColle

Flickr user Nick Chen aka solscud made a cute collection of Star Wars minifigures wearing their respective vehicles. For instance, Kylo Ren has his command shuttle, Han Solo is wearing the Millennium Falcon and Rey is, well, in the Millennium Falcon, but with the new different radar dish.

Star Wars Characters Reimagined as Menacing Cars

Star Wars Character Cars 01

The launch of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens is a few days away, and UK-based online shop Carwow thought this would be a great occasion for reimagining some of the space saga’s most iconic characters as cars.

There’s plenty of Star Wars merchandise going around these days, and while the follow cars aren’t for sale, I’m sure that many wealthy fans of the saga would buy them if they were. It’s great to see that the photo manipulators who were behind this campaign included characters from both the original trilogy and the prequels. There are no characters from the upcoming movie, but I guess it’s better that way, as there’s no way to know now how much people will root for any of them.

Alfa Romeo Giulia Stormtrooper Edition

The mindless white followers of Darth Vader were reimagined as an Italian street car that’s unsettlingly elegant.

As is the case with most cars in this collection, the windshield is supposed to represent either the eyes or the visor of the characters, and Giulia’s is perfectly complemented by the frontal air intake.

Han Solo’s Millennium Hellcat

As much as I would have wanted to see Chewbacca as a car instead, it’s great to see that the photo manipulator’s haven’t forgotten about the starship that Han Solo piloted in the original trilogy.

The heavily modified Dodge Charger Hellcat captures the spirit oft he Millennium Falcon perfectly, as not only the color and massive headlight remind of it, but also the mini-antenna that’s placed next to a rearview mirrors.

Darth Maul’s Honda NSX

The red Sith Lord’s 2016 Honda NSX looks as frightening as this character did in The Phantom Menace.

Honda’s entire body features horns and spikes, in an attempt to bring Qui-Gon Jinn’s murderer.

Darth Vader’s BMW Z4 Death Star Edition

Considering Dieselgate, I would have suggested using a VW car instead of BMW’s Z4 for depicting one of the best villains in movie history.

After all, VW cars have a harmful effect on the environment, pretty much like Darth Vader did.

Wedge Antilles’ Lamborghini A-Wing

Well, at least a car made by the VW Group made the list, right?

The young pilot’s outfit didn’t take a lot of photoshopping to be turned in this vintage Lamborghini.

Jar Jar Binks as a Nissan Juke

Targeted towards the young crowd (pretty much as Jar Jar Binks was, as I don’t think any grown-up Star Wars fan has ever taken that character seriously), the Nissan Juke is the perfect car to depict the abomination that is the prequel character.

Even that tongue that’s nearly touching the road makes perfect sense!

Boba Fett’s Mercedes G-Class

Mercedes G-Class is known to be a very reliable car, as are most vehicles created by this German automaker.

And you have to admit that Boba Fett was a pretty reliable bounty hunter, as well.

Luke Skywalker as a Mazda MX-5

Anakin’s son also had an outfit that’s easy to remember.

Now all we have to do is hope that some tuning division will pick up from where Carwow left off and will turn all of these curs into a reality.

Star Wars fan 3D prints the Millennium Falcon

Millenium Falcon 3

Star Wars is more alive than ever, and all kinds of creations keep pouring out of nowhere. The latest of these we’ve seen is a 3D printed Millennium Falcon.

A lot of productions and fan creations have been coming up and about across the Internet in what we like to call “The Year of Star Wars”, thanks to the many official productions that are renewing the interest in this classic series. And while the official productions (such as Star Wars: Battlefront for the PS4, Xbox One and PC, or the next movie in the series, Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens) are all looking wonderful and great, it’s the fan reactions and creations what gives you a real scope on just how much this matters to the geek world. A fantastic example of this is the 3D Printed Millennium Falcon that we’re sharing with you today.

Andrew Askendall, who goes by just Askendall at Thingiverse has uploaded plans and pictures of his recently created 3D Printed Millenium Falcon, a fantastic recreation of Han Solo and Chewie’s iconic spaceship, the same one that debuted in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, titled simply Star Wars way back when it first released. What’s more, Askendall hasn’t just uploaded pictures of his creation, but also plans so people at home with their own 3D printers can recreate their own. Who knows, maybe we could all show up to movie theaters across the globe carrying one of these to show our love for the saga? We for one will be doing that.

In order to recreate this aaskedal just used Makerbot Desktop to slice it, and it’s a particularly clever design that doesn’t even need an external support to stay in place, as there’s room for the landing gear in a little angle in the back, where they build up from. We are glad for that, because this looks like it would look awesome when displayed, but we are not so sure if we could hang it as it looks just too heavy. Other than that, this is an incredible piece with a lot of care and thought put into it, and you can tell by all of the details covering the ship’s body, with exhaust pipes and other features taken straight from the movies. We would say this looks even better than most official recreations, save the collectible ones. And hey, you can also pick the color.

The plans for this baby can be downloaded for free at Thingiverse (who specialize in this type of thing anyways, so it might be a good idea to browse there for more geeky stuff), and they are completely free, so if you needed plans for the weekend and already have 3D printing materials and software at home, we are sure you will know what to do. Meanwhile, we will be here sharing whichever other cool creations we find with you.

Han Solo in Carbonite Backpack: Leave It Frozen

We all love Han Solo in carbonite merchandise, but this backpack is just wrong. I’m pretty sure it’s that giant deformed head, and tiny hands and feet that make this so horrible.
han_backpack_1zoom in

If Han actually looked like this in the movie, they would have just let Jabba have him. And Jabba would have passed on the idea of hanging Han on the wall. Jabba is a gangster with a fine taste for art after all. Nobody wants this on their wall. How about your back? Do you want this nightmare clinging to you all day? It looks like it is begging for the sweet release of death.

If this abomination doesn’t bother you, it is only $39.99(USD). You can pre-order it now for a November release. Just don’t blame me when it arrives.
