Nerd out over this retro watch that yells out the time like a 1980’s answering machine!

Nixon’s Dork Too Smart Ass Watch is as its name suggests a dorky watch with an eccentric smart ass personality! Inspired by the 1980’s answering machine, the watch yells out the time, as your answering machine once recited out your messages to you. The 34mm perforated stainless steel case comes with a center button, press it and have the time yelled out to you!

Retro and modernity meet in this geek-chic watch, with a custom digital LCD that displays the time, date and any alarm you may have set. An EL backlight helps light your way whenever you’re fumbling in the dark. Simply plug the Dork Too into a USB to charge it efficiently, whenever its battery runs low.

Available in four different shades of black, gold, rose gold and silver, Nixon’s Dork Too Smart Ass Watch provides a comfortable eye-free time-telling experience. Quirky with an entertaining personality, you’ll never get bored with a watch like this!

Nixon Sentry SS SW Millennium Falcon Watch

This awesome Nixon watch didn’t make the Kessel run in 12 parsecs, but could help you time it – in hours, minutes, and seconds. Yes, now you can put the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon right on your wrist, with the Nixon Sentry SS SW Millennium Falcon edition.

The top of the dial features the view from the Falcon’s cockpit as she enters hyperdrive, and looks absolutely gorgeous. As far as Star Wars watches go, this is the best as far as I’m concerned. The back is engraved with the Falcon’s cockpit windows and Han Solo’s quote “Never tell me the odds”. It also features a double-locking clasp with micro adjust.

This is a stylish watch for a more civilized age. The Falcon’s cockpit going into hyperdrive on your watch? Seriously, what more do you need? It’s worth every penny of the $249.99(USD) pricetag from ThinkGeek.

Nixon x Star Wars Boba Fett Backpack: Journeyman Packtector

Watchmaker Nixon recently launched a collection based on Star Wars villains. Naturally the bulk of the collection are wristwatches, but I think the best of the lot is the A-10, a backpack based on the interstellar gunslinger Boba Fett.

The bag is about 20″ tall and has a large main compartment, two front pockets with waterproof zippers, a side-loading laptop compartment, mesh side pockets and a base compartment. It’s not visible in these photos but apparently one of the inner pockets has a Han Solo zipper pull.

Nixon Blaster Bluetooth Speaker Will Outlast The Last of Your Partygoers

There are plenty of Bluetooth speakers, but finding one that lasts more than 10 hours is a rarity. Nixon’s first Bluetooth speaker is supposed to have 18 hours of autonomy on a single charge. Now that’s long, and it will keep the music playing late into the night.

Nixon’s Blaster Bluetooth speaker touts an impressive battery life, especially when you compare it to speakers like the Jawbone Jambox, which lasts between 8 to 10 hours, and that’s long for these kinds of devices. Most of the specs haven’t yet been announced, but the Blaster is supposed to be weather-resistant as well.

The Blaster goes on sale this May, and prices haven’t yet been announced. I’m sure people are excited about having extra battery life and not always having to charge their speakers up. Hopefully the speaker will be competitively priced. Spending any more than $150(USD) for a Bluetooth speaker is a bit of a non-starter for me.

Nixon The Synapse Watch Offers Touch-Activated Geekiness

The Synapse is Nixon’s touch-activated digital watch that’s futuristic-looking enough to please sci-fi junkies (and robots) everywhere. This LCD watch is waterproof up to 100m, and has a digital movement with a touch-activated face. It includes an alarm chime timer and the usual features you’d expect from a digital chronograph watch.

I like how the main face of the watch displays a lot of information at the same time, with minimal use of graphics. Time, alarm, chronograph and date information is all displayed simultaneously using stylized dot-matrix digits.

Its all-chrome look is definitely modern, but if you’re retro-obsessed, go for the golden version. If that doesn’t rock your boat, then the stealthy gunmetal version might work for you.

The Synapse watch is available for $200 to $250 directly from Nixon.
