This DIY Propane Rifle Is Explosive

The Backyard Scientist’s propane rifle looks super cool when it fires. The spark and the propane going through the tubing create a neat effect, making it look like a sci-fi rifle. It is mesmerizing.

It is pretty easy to build, though it’s always dangerous to play with propane and fire. You’ll only need a few simple components: a self-igniting propane torch, some 7/8 inner diameter tubing and a plastic bottle of some sort for the muzzle end. This guy added boric acid to make the flame green. If you want an orange flame with some sparks, add some powdered charcoal.

This is a fun and beautiful weapon. Well, not really a weapon, but it is a great way to have fun with science. I could watch that firing effect all day long.

Fan-made Halo 4 Light Rifle Metal Replica Weighs 28lb.: For a Fit Forerunner

Prop maker David of Naughty Zoot Design went all out when he made this replica of the Z-250 Light Rifle from Halo 4. Instead of relying on a paint job to get an authentic look, David used 14 gauge cold-rolled steel and copper to capture the weapon’s appearance.

The replica measures 40″ and weighs a crazy 28lb. David also applied a cold-bluing solution to the steel parts to protect them and enhance their metallic glint. The cold cathode lights last for up to 2h on the built-in 5000mAh battery, and are frosted with glass shards to emulate the in-game rifles’ sizzling core. The rifle also has a squeezable solid copper trigger and a decorative scope.

David spent about 500 hours and $2500 (USD) to make this replica, which he finished late last year. Now he’s selling it to help pay for a new car. Fawout Wazer Wifle Weplica Wooks Wicked

For just £395 (~$670 USD) you can get yourself this amazing life-size laser rifle from Fallout 3. You might recognize it as the Wazer Wifle, which is a unique version of the AER9 laser rifle. It was made with wood and fiberglass by Thomas Hughes.

This is a super nice replica of the rifle in the game. I’m not sure if you will do any damage to your enemies, but at least you will look the part when wandering the wasteland. The seller says that is about 95% accurate to the in-game model.

Flickr member, LEGO enthusiast and Bionicle pilot Nick Brick made life-size scale models of some of the weapons in the hit FPS Titanfall. Nick made the EVA-8 Shotgun, the Smart Pistol MK5 and the R-101C Carbine.

Nick’s replicas may not be exactly the same as their virtual counterparts – Nick made the pistol and the rifle months before Titanfall came out – but they still look awesome and even have a few moving or detachable parts.
