Stormtrooper Vision Test Tries to Get to the Bottom of Things

Have you ever wondered why Stormtroopers can’t hit the broad side of a barn with their blasters? Perhaps they’re not getting enough Vitamin C? Or is it that the lenses of their helmets distort their vision? Maybe they just all have bad eyesight and need glasses. This hilarious painting from artist Travis Chapman is going with the latter view of things.

This one-of-a-kind original 24″ x 24″ acrylic painting is available for sale on Etsy for $700, and features an image of a stormtrooper as he sits for a vision test at the Empire’s designated optometrist, as the eye doc tries to figure out how to correct the soldier’s eyesight. Is this one better? Or this one? 1 or 2? 2 or 3? Better… or better?

Perhaps if all of the stormtroopers went through a proper eye exam and got contacts, they would have done so much better, and taken down that pesky rebellion back when they first tried to get their hands on the Death Star plans.

Pierre Hardy’s VIBE sneakers embody the perfect Stormtrooper aesthetic

The black and white aesthetic is often lovably referred to as the Stormtrooper color finish, named after the bungling, comedic elite army force of the dark side on Star Wars. Truth be told, it isn’t just the use of black and white, but rather the interesting interplay between the two, and the combination of colors usually is usually heavier on the white than on the black. Pierre Hardy’s Vibe Sneakers, for instance, are a perfect embodiment of that aesthetic, with its jagged zebra-esque design that gives the shoes heavy dynamism and contrast, making them absolutely eye-catching and jaw-dropping.

Built with a gum sole and a calf-leather upper, the Vibe sneakers from Pierre Hardy are luxury and style wrapped in a singular package. Creating an edgy contrast with the racy geometric stripes, the Vibe’s patterns actually draw inspiration from sound waves, which are translated onto the shoe’s body by pairing leather cuts all the way from the bottom to the very top. While this Stormtrooper-esque version is my favorite, the Vibes come in an absolutely delicious gradient version too!

Let’s Hope Razer’s Stormtrooper Accessories are More Accurate Than Their Namesake

Star Wars fans, Razer has taken wraps off of their Stormtrooper Edition accessories, which include a BlackWidow Lite mechanical keyboard, the Atheris wireless mouse, and Goliathus Extended gaming mouse mat, each featuring an Imperial stormtrooper theme. Let’s hope they don’t affect your aim in game and make you get ambushed by a pack of wild Ewoks.

The special edition BlackWidow Lite Silent Mechanical Keyboard features a stormtrooper top plate, a black-and-white braided cable and an Imperial crest on the Escape key, while the Atheris Wireless Mouse sports the iconic Imperial stormtrooper helmet on the mouse itself. The Goliathus Extended Gaming Mouse Mat has an image of a squad of stormtroopers against a partial Imperial emblem and a cool black-and-white design.

Gamers who ally themselves with the Dark Side and the Empire now have some cool new gear to buy. They are available now with the keyboard costing $99.99, the mouse and the mouse mat selling for $59.99 and $34.99, respectively. These accessories look pretty sweet and all have great designs.

Maybe The Reason Stormtroopers Were Such Bad Shots Was Too Much Gin

Give your bar a geeky upgrade with these cool Stormtrooper Gin Bottles from UK outfit Firebox. The set comes with two bottles filled with gin from Bimber Distillery, which happens to be the official distiller of the Empire.

You get two gins: London Dry Gin that tastes like juniper berries, peppery spices, pleasantly dry and earthy notes with a gentle citrus finish. Then Sloe Gin that tastes like fresh berries with a kick of pepper, sweetness meets tangy sour, slightly creamy and softly fruity. I’d like to mix both of them together for maximum Stormtrooper drunkenness, but sadly they won’t ship these to the US. On the other hand, if you’re in the UK, drink up!

After a few drinks, you might just be as clumsy and random as a Stormtrooper with a blaster. These guys couldn’t hit the broad side of a bantha with an AT-AT. Fix yourself a martini or three, and you’ll be firing just like them and pouring your next drink outside of the glass. What the hell is wrong with these guys anyway? They must have like two hours of training in Stormtrooper school. They can’t even walk through doors without hitting their heads.

You can make your own low-poly sith lord!

Star Wars Gaming Chairs: For The Dark Side of Your Backside

If the Dark Side played video games, these would be the chairs that they would sit their evil butts in. You can sit your butt in them too, regardless of which side of The Force you’re aligned with. Whether you are playing Star Wars Battlefront or watching the original trilogy, now you can do it in style.

These comfy looking Darth Vader and Stormtrooper Gaming Chairs are for fans who want to show off their love for all things Star Wars. The curvy, low-to-the-ground seats feature a plywood and hardwood frame with polyurethane, PVC, and polyester upholstery over a cotton cushion with foam fill. They each have four built-in speakers, Bluetooth 4.1 technology for wireless audio streaming, a control panel, and an audio output and audio input jacks.

They will cost you $335 each from PBTeen. Not bad for an Imperial chair. I would get both because Vader should always have a Stormtrooper sitting around to do his bidding. Obviously, these chairs are for serious Star Wars fans only, given the price and the fact that these are huge Star Wars toys to have in your home. I would love to get both.

Porcelain Stormtrooper Lamp: The Empire Lights Back

Stormtroopers seem to break pretty easily, so it only makes sense that you’d make one out of porcelain, right? That’s exactly what artist Erifyli Tsavdari of Keramiki has done here with this cool desktop sculpture, inspired by the iconic white Stormtrooper’s helmet.

The porcelain Stormtrooper helmet measures about 8.5″ tall and features a textured floral pattern that’s common in porcelain work. Inside, there’s a socket for a light bulb, which casts a warm glow through the translucent clay helmet. I imagine that the rest of the porcelain Stormtrooper was shattered by Rebel blaster fire, and that’s why all we have left is this helmet.

Each lamp is handmade, so it’s likely to have some imperfections, which only seems appropriate for a Stormtrooper. Keramiki also has some sweet ceramic Darth Vader mugs if coffee is more your cup of tea.

Star Wars Conference Table Made from over 28,000 Pushpins

Check out this cool Star Wars-inspired conference table. It was made using thousands of individually pushpins. You may not have that 28,800 pins handy, but luckily that wasn’t a problem for the employees at Viking, a UK-based office supply seller.

While they could have hired a robot to do the work, instead, the image was composed entirely by hand. It took multiple employees about 39 hours to complete. When it was finished, the table was covered with a raised glass surface to protect the stormtrooper. The glass also makes it a usable conference table. It also helps to discourage people from stealing one push-pin at a time, until there’s nothing left. And you know that there are some sick people out there who would really do that.

Watch the video and see the tabletop turn into a very neat stormtrooper mosaic before your eyes.

This is probably the coolest conference table ever created. I would never be able to concentrate on the actual conference though, with this table in front of me. Great job, Viking. I wish I had a table like that.
