Twelve South’s wireless charging photo frame shows how home decor intersects seamlessly with tech

Designed to look like a slick lucite photo frame, Twelve South’s PowerPic mod has a way of being useful at all times – either as tabletop or bedside decor, or as a gadget that charges your smartphone… because under the photo and the lucite frame sits a Qi-compatible 10W wireless charging module.

The concept of a photo-frame wireless charger isn’t entirely new. In fact, the original PowerPic was just that… although it came with a much thicker frame (or bezel if that’s what you want to call it). Although just like tech companies strive to make bezels smaller each year, the PowerPic mod focuses on going absolutely bezel-less, with a clean, minimalist design that still lets you mount photos and charge your phone.

Can be positioned vertically or horizontally.

Customizable with any 4×6 photo or custom graphic.

Named the PowerPic mod for its modern aesthetic, the lucite frame comes with a 10W charger embedded within it that’s compatible with a wide variety of wireless-enabled smartphones (yes, even your MagSafe iPhone) and even the wirelessly charging AirPods Pro. The frame lets you fit any 4×6 photo within it and cover it with a lucite panel secured in place by magnets… although the folks at Twelve South even see the PowerPic mod being a neat addition to cafés and restaurants, allowing establishments to add QR codes to their frames for customers to scan to access menus and payment methods. Finally, a USB-C port at the rear of the PowerPic mod lets you plug in any standard 20W USB-C charger, allowing your rather elegant-looking photo frame to wirelessly charge your smartphones and AirPods Pro. Rather neat, eh?

Wear your Apple Watch as an armband with this accessory for an improved workout experience!

Apple Watch presents an all-new dimension in health tracking and fitness monitoring. Its health and wellness functionalities are perhaps its unique selling proposition, and the readings are accurate when it’s placed on the wrist. However, fitness bands relocate the Apple Watch from its ideal wrist position, further up in the arm. It looks fancy and all that, but these often compromise the effectiveness of the watch. Coming up with a reworked design of the ActionSleeve, Apple accessory designer Twelve South has released ActionSleeve 2.

The ActionSleeve 2’s unique design ensures the Apple Watch Series 4 (and later) always remains in constant contact with the body, so there is no discrepancy in tracking parameters on the Fitness app. Most of us would prefer wearing the Apple Watch in its default position and deem the band worthless. In fact, that would be the case until you want to put on a pair of boxing gloves! The ActionSleeve 2 armband is meticulously designed to give people more flexibility to keep using the Apple Watch when an activity or sporting gear may restrict wearing it on the wrist or lead to discomfort. “If you’ve ever changed your Apple Watch band, you already know how ActionSleeve 2 works: 1. remove your current Apple Watch band, 2. push the Apple Watch “body” into the back of ActionSleeve 2 and 3. strap ActionSleeve 2 on, tighten and go. Your screen, crown, and button remain fully accessible and functional.” Twelve South explains.

Made from rugged stitched polyurethane fabric and featuring a reliable Velcro enclosure, the Apple Watch armband snaps just like the typical wristband. Simply remove the usual Apple Watch band and slip the device into the ActionSleeve 2, which with its open-face layout, keeps the watch case projected and leaves the digital crown accessible for you to toggle between apps on the go. The Apple Watch armband is available through Twelve South and Amazon and can be picked up right away for $ $39.99!

Turn your iPad into an all-purpose adjustable screen with Twelve South’s hovering stand

In hindsight, you really can’t call the HoverBar Duo an iPad ‘stand’. The multi-hinged, incredibly versatile, height/direction adjustable arm is capable of doing much more than your conventional stand is. In fact, think of it as a mechanical butler who just holds your iPad for you at any angle you want, for any length of time. More versatile than a stand or a tripod, the HoverBar Duo for the iPad and iPhone is better described by the things that it’s capable of… and it’s capable of quite a lot!

Simply put, the HoverBar Duo holds your iPad or iPhone wherever you want it, and in any orientation you need. The multi-hinge arm is infinitely adjustable (sort of like the lamp on a dentist’s chair), and the choice between a flat-base and a clamp-base gives the HoverBar Duo the ability to be placed practically anywhere – on a table or a kitchen counter, or even suspended from a shelf or a rod. A universal clip allows the HoverBar Duo to hold onto a wide variety of devices, including older and later models of the iPad as well as all generations of the iPhone (this obviously means it works with *most* Android phones and tablets too). The rather long two-part arm allows the HoverBar Duo to hold your device at eye-level, giving you the ability to turn your iPad into an extra monitor that’s on the same level as the iMac, while the multiple hinges mean you could position the iPad to serve as an angled kiosk/terminal, a sketching tablet, or even an impromptu television or FaceTime machine. Moreover, the infinite adjustability means you could potentially use the HoverBar Duo to position your smartphone or tablet’s camera at any angle, turning it into a makeshift tripod with varying degrees of freedom! As I said earlier, the HoverBar Duo isn’t just merely an iPad ‘stand’… it’s a whole lot more!

This innovative curvy stand for the MacBook cantilevers it beautifully, like the new iPad Pro

If you own a laptop and an external display, here’s a fun observation game you can play. Keep both of them side by side and compare the angle at which your neck bends when looking at the display on a laptop, versus an external display. Most external displays come with an elevation that’s factored in especially for ergonomic reasons, something that the laptop doesn’t have, because it’s attached to a keyboard that needs to maintain a relatively lower elevation for easy hand accessibility. That difference in height amounts to approximately 10° in your neck’s angle, which doesn’t sound like much, but it’s enough to cause neck aches over prolonged hours.

So what’s the solution? A more expensive one would be to buy an external display and hook it to your laptop, a more sensible one would be to just elevate your laptop and use a regular wireless keyboard. Twelve South’s Curve is all about the latter. In fact, they have gone a step further and introduced a Matte White version – Curve SE – that perfectly matches clean modern office spaces and white desktops.

With minimal material and maximal robustness, the Curve SE elevates your laptop 6.5 inches of your desk, allowing your neck to rest at a much more comfortable angle. Made from a single curved piece of anodized aluminum, the Curve SE’s clean design complements your MacBook perfectly although it works universally with all laptops. Silicone grips ensure your expensive machine is held well in place so any accidental nudges don’t knock it over.

The Curve SE’s elevated (in the literal sense) sense of design even helps keep your laptop ventilated, promoting proper air flow so your machine doesn’t heat up. In the event that it does, though, I imagine the metal body serves as some sort of heat-sink to help dissipate heat and cool your machine down faster. That’s speculation on my end… although the fact that it’s sure to make working on your laptop less of a pain in the neck, that’s guaranteed!

Curve SE Lifts Your MacBook While Elevating Your Desktop Style

With MacBook accessories, design matters and that’s why you should place it on top of Curve SE. With its beautiful matte finish and improved ergonomic design, it is the ultimate partnership of style and functionality.

Place alongside an external display to create the perfect dual-screen setup.

Elevates your screen to a healthier, more comfortable ergonomic height.

Matte White for Your Inner Minimalist

White blends nicely into beautiful modern workspaces and clean white desktops. Since your white desk will likely outlast your favorite color notebook, doesn’t it make sense to own a stand to match the environment it lives in?

Curve SE also complements your Magic Mouse, Power Adapter, cables and the keys on your Magic keyboard.

Ergonomics 101

Curve SE helps prevent pain by elevating your MacBook screen an ergonomic standard 6.5 inches off your desk. When you sit up straight and look directly at your screen, you’ll feel less tension in your neck and shoulders, allowing the ideas to flow out of you. The way it should be.

Solid, One-piece Design

Curve SE has two slender arms that allow maximum airflow and easily support today’s ultra-light MacBooks. Plus, Curve lets you freely open and close your MacBook without the hinge getting hung up like it does on flat, old stands.

Curve SE is made of metal accented with non-slip silicone grips on the bottom and arms. The curved one-piece design has no extra parts, which means there’s nothing to lose, fall off or break.

Your AirPods can now be used to watch in-flight movies with this wireless headphone adaptor!

Wireless headphones seem to have taken over the world and I have to say they’re quite convenient! No more 15 minute long sessions dedicated to untangling your wired headphones. However, the boon of owning wireless headphones can turn into a curse pretty soon, once you’re in an airplane or on a treadmill. Airline entertainment systems are equipped with wired headphone jacks, so using your Airpods to watch some in-flight movies becomes impossible. It’s similar to when you want to catch up on some news on the screen attached to the treadmill while working out, but there’s zero compatibility with your wireless headphones! However Twelve South has just come up with their AirFly Pro. A wireless headphone adaptor, AirFly Pro is “the missing link between wireless headphones and wired headphone jacks.” It lets you connect your AirPods, AirPods Pro or wireless headphones of any brand to devices (lacking Bluetooth connectivity) with a 3.5mm headphone jack. The dongle allows two people to listen to music or watch a movie, making it a splitter! You can finally share/watch things wirelessly with your friends, if you’ll share the same taste in entertainment that is. The AirFly Pro also connects with the Nintendo Switch, enabling you to listen to the audio using your favorite wireless headphones while playing your favorite game!

Boasting a battery life of 16 hours, AirFly Pro has another interesting feature hidden up its sleeve! You can plug the Pro into any 3.5 mm AUX port, transforming it into a wireless receiver. This is extremely useful when it comes to the stereos of certain older car models. However, the biggest plus point for me is the fact that I get to use my AirPods to watch a movie the next time I’m jet setting on a vacation! AirFly Pro is compatible with a wide range of wireless headphones including Apple AirPods, Powerbeats Pros, Bose QuietComfort 35, Beats Solo and Sony WH-1000.

Twelve South made this discreet looking picture frame that also charges your phone

Turning a pleasant, memorable piece of home-decor into a useful product seems to be this year’s general consensus. Twelve South’s PowerPic is, outwardly, a photo frame, but it also happens to hide a wireless charger within it. The PowerPic sits on side tables, mantelpieces, workdesks, or coffee tables, and can hold any 5×7 photo of your choice within it. When not in use, the PowerPic is just another photo frame with a picture of your dog, parents, kids, siblings, or favorite artpiece. However, place your wireless-charging-compatible phone into the PowerPic’s thick-lipped frame and your phone instantly begins charging. Twelve South even went the distance by programming your phone’s screen to stay awake and display your wallpaper while charging, so your photo frame doesn’t get covered by a blank, black smartphone. The frame even uses authentic black or white New Zealand pine to look absolutely dapper, and conceals all unnecessary wires and cables into the photo frame’s footstand at the back. The things people think of these days!

Twelve South Picture PowerPic Frame Hides Your Qi Charger in Plain Sight

If you or your significant other are worried about your gadgets interfering with your home decor, the Twelve South PowerPic will make you very happy. This Qi charger is designed to look like a traditional photo frame, so it won’t stand out like a sore thumb. In fact, it is a picture frame that also happens to charge your phone.

It can be positioned anywhere you like – on your desk, your nightstand, on a shelf, wherever you want. It won’t look out of place anywhere. Put any 5″ x 7″ print inside the frame to make it your own. Then, all you have to do is put your smartphone in the frame when you need to power up, which will prompt the Qi-enabled technology inside to charge your device.

This decor saver is compatible with all brands of Qi-enabled smartphones. You can get it in either white or black over on Amazon for $79.99, and if you order it today, it can still arrive in time for Christmas. If your wife often complains that your gear is messing up the the home decor in the house, she will appreciate this as a gift. When you aren’t using it, it’s just a picture frame and when you are using it, it looks much better than the alternative.

This MacBook Charger is from the year 3018!

With the way Apple’s developed an entire ecosystem around its products, making sure you buy all their offerings, instead of just one gadget out of their lineup, it’s honestly plain stupid that there’s little to no cross-compatibility. The MacBook uses a Type-C charger. The iPhone and iPad use lightning connectors, and they come with USB ports at the opposite end, so if you want to plug your iPhone into your MacBook (to charge them both together), you’ll either need a dongle or an entirely separate cable. Dumb, isn’t it? The iPhone charger doesn’t even charge the iPad properly because the tablet has a higher power requirement.

It’s a good thing that the PlugBug Duo is here to solve your problems. Built by the true geniuses at Twelve South, the Plug Bug Duo simply connects to your MacBook Charger, supplying power to it while also giving you two extra USB ports to plug other devices/cables into it. The red adapter is compliant with all MacBook chargers, and even works as a travel adapter, allowing you to use your MacBook charger with international sockets. It comes with 5 different snap-on plugins that let you plug your MacBook into any international socket you may be subjected to.

Besides giving your MacBook charger international compatibility, the PlugBug Duo’s two USBs are heaven sent, since they let you run your MacBook as well as power your iPhone and iPad simultaneously. The USB ports provide the full 2.1 amps and 10W of power needed to supercharge your iPad too, letting you effectively charge three devices together, internationally, using just one power outlet! I’d choose that bit of innovation over flipping ARKit 2 any day of the week.
