How many cameras is too many cameras for a smartphone??

Trigger Warning: Trypophobia

I’m mildly trypophobic, so yes, the idea of a smartphone dotted with camera lenses does irk me, but conceptually it’s too funny an idea to ignore. The How Many Cameras Smartphone is a parody concept by Phoenix Bai, who pokes fun at companies (Apple, we’re watching you) that just incrementally increase the number of cameras on their phones for the sake of ‘innovation’.

The smartphone directly points its guns at the L16 smartphone by Light, which had a whopping 16 camera lenses on its back. The How Many Cameras smartphone, however, sports a mind-numbing 47 lenses on the back, accompanied by four flashes on the corner. Obviously, it isn’t a concept to be taken seriously, but given the trajectory of tech, I wouldn’t be surprised if even 20% of that became a reality. (My OnePlus 8 Pro currently has 4 cameras on the back, which is 3 more than my Pixel 2 had)

What would even be the advantage of having a 47-lens smartphone though? For starters, I imagine you’d practically be able to 3D scan every photo or video you take in real-time (although your hand would feature in a lot of them). 47 bumps would even dramatically make it easier to grip the phone, preventing it from accidentally falling or slipping from your hand. The disadvantages, however, outweigh those cons by a MASSIVE margin. Imagine getting finger-smudges on those lenses? Or never being able to put a case on your smartphone because the back-panel would have to be bare? How about the fact that 47 freaking lenses would mean no place for a wireless charging coil? Or that running your camera app could drain your battery in a matter of minutes… This smartphone is clearly a parody, but it does ask a fundamentally important question. How many cameras IS too many? 4? 5? 16? At this point, I’d just prefer carrying a DSLR with me…

Car lovers, close your eyes!!

With great power comes great responsibility, said the ever wise Ben Parker, but the guys at Ford Transit Direct decided to let that piece of advice in through one ear and out the other. Armed with rendering and Photoshopping power, they took a few classic, luxury, and powerful automobiles and turned them into *long exhale* pickup trucks. The series (a parody, thankfully) gets rather cringe-worthy as brands like Lexus, Lamborghini, Lotus, Bentley, and even Rolls-Royce weren’t spared the torturous treatment. Some people just love to see the world burn!

If Jony Ive Designed a Toilet

No one looks cool on the toilet, but that’s only because toilets have lacked Apple’s design sensibilities. It’s time we were set free from our generic toilets, with the help of SNL host Benedict Cumberbatch.

This fake commercial makes fun of Apple’s history of over-the-top marketing to unveil a toilet from Kohler that takes things to the next level. The Koohl toilet of course, comes in Jet Black, and provides a revolutionary – dare I say courageous – new seating position. Never before have you actually looked cool on the toilet. This changes everything. I can’t wait until we can pre-order these. And that flush! How cool is that?

Of course, we will have to upgrade every year to get minimal improvements in bowl storage size and water capacity and such.

Apple Parody: The New iPhone 7 Is… Just Worse

On September 7th, Apple announced its latest generation of iPhones during a special live event in San Francisco. Ever since, fans and detractors have not been very that happy about one of the “improvements” to the device ever since. Naturally, the internet was flooded with parodies.

College Humor joined in on the fun with this parody video. This fake Apple-style interview featuring a very anxious Tim Cook who looks about ready to have a nervous breakdown, when he suddenly realizes that removing the headphone jack maybe wasn’t the best idea. He also explains that lots of other things are turning up missing thanks to Jony Ive.

You’ll get a good laugh whether you agree with Apple’s recent decisions or not.

Boston Dynamics SpotMini: The Mech with a Mouth

Remember SpotMini, the Boston Dynamics robot dog of doom that does chores around the house? Well, he’s back, and it turns out he has a really foul mouth.

This parody video comes from British comedian vagabonds. His version of the robot’s demonstration video reveals SpotMini cursing up a storm, complaining about the smell in the room, challenging Stacey’s ex-boyfriend to a fight, and more.

He’s having a really bad day. You might say he’s having a dog day afternoon. Slipping on that banana peel really caps it off. It’s not easy being a dog/servant robot. Really makes you feel for the little guy.

Darth Vader Yule Log Video: The Warm Side of the Corpse

Did you actually listen to Darth Vader’s breathing for 10 hours straight? Then YouTuber BenjaminApple’s Christmalloween video should be a walk in the park for you. He took the scene in Return of the Jedi where Luke burns his dad’s body on a funeral pyre and turned it into a 5-hour virtual fireplace.

Sit back, relax and listen to the sounds of a child killer’s flesh burning:

I hope there’s a rickroll or two in there.
