Funko and Target Are Unleashing an Adorable Darth Vader Toy

Impressive. Most impressive. Darth Vader was pretty badass in Rogue One and now he goes back to being adorable with this new Funko Pop figure. He’s super adorable.

This figure has a Death Star base and Darth Vader is riding his TIE Fighter as if it was one of those coin operated rides for kids. The Dark Lord is sitting on top ready to pew pew pew some X-Wing Fighters. Darth Vader and his TIE Fighter will be a Target exclusive sometime next month. When that happens, you’d better grab him while you can.

Have you ever seen the Sith Lord look so cute? I think not.

Star Wars TIE Fighter Gas Grill: Imperial BBQ Cooker

It turns out that the Empire’s TIE dogfighters can do more than just fly and shoot, they can also grill a mean burger. I present to you the Star Wars TIE Fighter gas grill.

The TIE Fighter’s “wings” fold out for food prep and it uses propane to grill everything from Bantha burgers to Dewback Ribs. It is made of cast aluminum, has 220 square inches of cooking space, and comes with a custom TIE Fighter analog thermometer.

Now you are cooking with the might of the galactic Empire. Sadly it doesn’t have a security system that shoots lasers if someone else tries to steal your steaks off of it. It will cost you $400(USD) from Amazon.

Boy Battling Brain Cancer Gets a TIE Fighter Wheelchair

Volunteers at Magic Wheelchair have created something truly amazing for an 8-year-old Oregon boy battling brain and spinal cancer. They made him this awesome TIE Fighter costume that he can cruise around in this Halloween.

The Imperial spaceship brought an amazing smile to his face and warmed his heart too, as well as our own cold dead hearts. This isn’t just any TIE Fighter. It’s Vader’s TIE Fighter. That’s why Daniel Shaughnessy is dressed as the Sith Lord.

The non-profit organization spent about 200 hours transforming the chair into the vehicle. Daniel’s mother Jessica Thomas had tears in her eyes:

There were definite tears! Definite tears… And being able to see the look on his face when they took the cover off, and he got to see it, was amazing. The things that they do and just out of the goodness of their hearts that they do these things is so amazing.

It is amazing. The folks at Magic Wheelchair are true heroes.

Star Wars TIE Fighter Desk: For Imperial Accountants

Do you dream of being an Imperial pencil pusher? That’s how Grand Moff Tarkin got started. This TIE Fighter desk is part of Rooms to Go’s Star Wars line of furniture and it looks just like the starfighters of the Galactic Empire.

Yeah, it’s for kids. So what? We are all just big kids. The $399 desk measures 40″ x 28.5″ x 35″ inches, so there’s enough room to get real work done. The frame is powder coated steel, with textured details, with a clear tempered glass top.

I wonder if they use these to study in TIE Fighter pilot school. Makes sense to me.

If you want to make one for yourself she has provided instructions and a list of the materials that you will need. It is a pretty simple project if you have made built things with wood and know your way around a paintbrush.

It is pretty cute and perfect for a kid’s room. If you scaled this design up, it would make for an awesome bench too. Or a stand for all of your Star Wars action figures.

Star Wars Mirrors: Shiny Side of the Dark Side

Everyone needs a mirror or two around the house, if for nothing other than ensuring you don’t have a booger on your face before going out. If you are a sci-fi geek, you might want these Star Wars mirrors.

There are six mirrors in the set with the largest looking like the Death Star. The other mirrors include four TIE fighters and one TIE advanced fighter. The Death Star is 16″ in diameter, the TIE Advanced fighter is the larger at 7.75″ x 4.75″ with the others just a bit smaller.

LEGO Star Wars Minifigs in Ship Costumes: A New KanColle

Flickr user Nick Chen aka solscud made a cute collection of Star Wars minifigures wearing their respective vehicles. For instance, Kylo Ren has his command shuttle, Han Solo is wearing the Millennium Falcon and Rey is, well, in the Millennium Falcon, but with the new different radar dish.

DIY Star Wars First Order TIE Fighter Toy Quadcopter Mod: The Babies Awaken

Like the Imperial speeder bike quadcopter we saw earlier this year, YouTuber ajw61185’s quadcopter started out as a toy. He modified Hasbro’s First Order Special Forces TIE Fighter, and turned into a flying day care center.

Ajw61185 cut holes on the toy’s wings and the bracket that holds the wings so he could install the propellers and motors, then he hid the battery inside the cockpit.

Here it is in action. You should lower the volume because the toy’s propellers make a wailing sound that will make you want to shoot it down:

Waaah!

TIE Fighter Music Box: The Empire Strikes Chords

Watchmakers MB&F created this TIE fighter-themed music box with an an amazing eye toward craftsmanship – and debt. You see, it will cost you almost $20,000.

tie_fighter_music_1zoom in

On each side of this mechanical marvel, there is a roller dotted with over 1,400 tiny pins that have each been assembled by hand into 1,400 tiny drill holes. It also sports a precision-tuned 72-tooth comb made from a special steel alloy that plays six tunes, including the themes from Star Wars, James Bond, Mission Impossible, The Godfather, Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence, and The Persuaders. It seems like an odd combination of tunes for sure.

These custom music boxes were made to celebrate the company’s tenth anniversary in 2015. MB&F only issued 99 of these music boxes in all. It is lovely, but I would rather spend that sum on Star Wars toys myself.

Star Wars Schematics Hawaiian Shirt Is Geeky on More Than One Level

Sometimes we have stuff to talk about that is sort of like Inception – something wrapped in something similar to itself. This Hawaiian shirt is a perfect example. You have to be a geek to wear a Hawaiian shirt to begin with, or at least over the age of 55. So the guy in the shirt is Geekception layer number one.

On top of that, this shirt has a Star Wars print making up Geekception layer number two. On close inspection, you will find schematics of AT-ATs, Walkers, and TIE Fighters with tags pointing out their parts. The shirt even has Imperial logo buttons.
