Whoever said cheese couldn’t be whimsical and fun hasn’t seen the ‘Slice and Mice’ cheese knife collection! These cuties are not your average, run-of-the-mill knives. They are a delightful blend of functionality and quirky design, guaranteed to bring a smile, polished stainless-steel knives with handles that resemble teeny tiny mice. The only mice you would appreciate in your kitchen. This unique cheese knife set is all about elegance and making a statement!

Designer: Igor Mitin

The core objective behind ‘Slice and Mice’ was to create something more than just kitchen utensils. These knives were designed to be eye-catching, conversation starters that add a dash of glamor to any cheese platter. By integrating whimsical mouse designs into the handles, the knives become more than mere inanimate objects; they become an integral part of the dining experience and interior decor.

These little mice are not just there to look pretty, the designers nailed the comfort factor too. The handle design of these knives is a standout feature. The meticulous attention to detail ensures that the handles replicate the adorable characteristics of miniature mice while maintaining a sleek and polished appearance. The stainless steel construction provides a smooth and pleasant touch, while the ergonomically shaped handles fit perfectly in hand. The designers aimed to create a comfortable grip, allowing the palm to rest effortlessly on the wide, mouse-shaped handle.

Despite the emphasis on elegance, the ‘Slice and Mice’ cheese knives do not compromise their practical functionality. When using these knives, the ears of the mouse-shaped handle provide an additional grip spot, facilitating better control and precision. Moreover, the stainless steel handle adds a satisfying weight to the knives, enhancing the overall tactile experience. A crucial aspect of these knives is their ease of cleaning after use. The meticulously crafted mouse parts are designed to facilitate effortless cleaning, ensuring convenience and longevity.

Let’s not forget the blades! Shaped like slices of cheese, they’re a feast for the eyes. The designers didn’t stop there; they added indented circles to make sure you really feel that cheese-loving vibe. These details not only complement the overall concept but also serve to reinforce the connection between the knife set and its intended purpose. The ‘Slice and Mice’ collection successfully strikes a delicate balance between visual appeal and practicality.

In a world where cheese reigns supreme, the ‘Slice and Mice’ cheese knife set exemplifies the creative possibilities of merging functionality with artistry. By combining polished stainless steel with adorable mouse-inspired handles, the designers have crafted a collection of knives that transcends their utilitarian role and become a delightful addition to any dining table. With their seamless blend of elegance, ergonomic design, and easy cleaning features, these knives are a testament to the vision of creating utensils that warm both the eye and the heart.

Velveeta Cheese-Scented Nail Polish: Finger Lickin’ Good

Available as a limited-edition collaboration between Velveeta and Nails.INC, the Pinkies Out Polish Creamy Smooth Cheese Scented Nail Polish Duo is a $15 two-pack of Velveeta-inspired nail polish that smells like cheese when dried. The pinnacle of human achievement: we’ve finally reached it. I never imagined it would happen in my lifetime, yet here we are.

Per Velveeta’s official announcement: “What’s up, mother forkers – We’re introducing the world to Velveeta Pinkies Out Polish, a red and yellow cheese-scented polish that’s bold, over-the-top, and made to stand out with your smallest finger out. That’s #LaDolceVelveeta.” Wow, first we reach the pinnacle of human achievement, then I’m addressed by a cheese company as a ‘mother forker’ – today is just full of surprises.

So, the question remains: if my wife is wearing Velveeta cheese-scented nail polish, am I going to try nibbling her fingernails when she puts her arm around me? That remains to be seen. Or, in my case, tasted. So yes, the answer is yes – I am absolutely going to do that.

This sleek foldable phone’s practical form factor is designed to boost smartphone photography!

Foldable smartphones hit the scene in a big way a couple of years ago, but they have failed to make any major inroads (as speculated when they first burst into the scene) in the highly competitive segment of the phone market – yes, I’m talking about the flagship segment. The form factor so far has been limited to the clamshell of the Moto Razr, the Galaxy Z Flip, or the bigger tablet-like folding form of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Huawei Mate X. To liven up things and give consumers a sneak peek at how foldable smartphone technology is going to shape in the near future, concept phones refresh the monotony of the predictable designs that we are used to.

The Compal CHEESE is the latest to catch our eye, and it seems good both on the practicality front as well as form and function considering what the end-user actually looks forward to. This smartphone is designed to satiate the cravings of photography fanatics with a very compact form factor that justifies daily use-case-scenario. CHEESE has only one camera module on the top, and the upper third half of the phone folds to be used as a selfie shooter. While you might be sucked into believing that it is similar to the Asus Zenfone 6 or Zenfone 7, but they have a rotating camera system and not a folding display like the one on the CHEESE. Without being too bulky or wide (like Samsung or Motorola), the phone manages to balance out the daily phone usage with photography perfectly.

The thing here to note is that the phone folds as the dual cameras face outward in the phone mode. The major half of the screen is for you to use as a viewfinder and photograph composition, and if you’re clicking a portrait of your friend, he/she can see themselves in the folded part of the screen facing them. Furthermore, the side edges of the display act as the camera shutter or be used for other functions like zoom or even to display notifications when you’re not clicking pictures. While it’s still a blueprint of what Compal could make in the future – pricing of anything under $1,200 will keep prospective buyers interested.

Hitting the Books: What really goes into your artisanal cheese

Keep your white picket fences and 2.5 suburban-raised children, there is nothing more American that tearing into an individually-wrapped slice of hyper-processed, luminescently orange milk-derived consumption commodity. But American is not the only v...

This packaging design knows the heart of every cheese (lover!)

Okay, I am going to cut straight to the chase…or shall I say let’s cut to the cheese? I apologize in advance for puns, I hope they stink less than blue cheese! This old Amsterdam cheese cover brie-longs with your cheese because it understands the matters of the heart. No, it literally does – this cover is built in a way that it showcases the heart of your cheese and also protects it. The conceptual cheese cover is appropriately named ‘El Corazon’ which translates into ‘the heart’.

The center of the old Amsterdam cheese is usually served as tapas or aperitif (small savory dishes that complement beverages) and therefore deserves to be displayed like the showstopper of the snack bar that it is. The case also prolongs the cheese’s life in the refrigerator while turning into a functional showcase when needed. The goal of designing this cheese cover was to keep it simple yet effective while preserving the contents and also showing them off. The concept was tested with a prototype made using SolidWorks, CAD, and 3D printing, ensuring that your cheese always feels gouda about itself!

Fondoodler is a Glue Gun for Cheese

Kraft cheese? More like craft cheese. Everyone knows that cheese is basically the world’s greatest food, that’s a well researched inarguable fact. Now you can turn cheese into the ultimate building material with the Fondoodler. Create your own edible 3d creations. Aerosol canned cheese (wiz) is limited to just one type of very odd tasting cheese- what’s up with that taste? Yuck. But with the Fondoodler you can use not only any variety of cheese you wish but virtually any form of cheese- blocks, shredded, sting cheese. There’s no wrong type of cheese- well maybe something crumbly like feta, but really any cheese that melts well can be the mortar for your cracker creation.

Make a healthy sugar-free gingerbread house with crackers instead of cookies and cheese instead of icing. The culinary possibilities are endless. Think cracker castle. Just load up the Fondoodler with your cheese of choice, let it heat up for 3 minutes and then push down like a caulk gun of delicious dairy extrusions. It comes apart into 3 pieces that can easily be cleaned in the dishwasher.

2 X 2 Rubik’s Cube Made out of Cheddar Cheese: Solve, Then Eat

When I was a kid, solving a Rubik’s Cube was tough. Only geniuses could do it. The rest of us had to learn cheats just so we could look smart. These days it seems everyone is solving these puzzles with ease. They are even making their own. And sometimes they are made out of some really weird materials. Here’s Rubik’s cubist Tony Fisher demonstrating a very edible 2 x 2 Rubik’s Cube he made out of cheddar cheese.

I have to say, he did a gouda job. I would have gotten feta up with it halfway through. Since it is cheese we are talking about here, he had to use colored thumbtacks to identify the sides. Hope no one ate it thinking they were edible. The only problem with this cube is that the more you turn it, the more cheese crumbs end upon the floor. No problem if you have animals. My cats would love it if I played with this cube.

Some might say it’s cheesy to use cheddar in this build. It’s not that Tony is anti-brie, he’s just pro-volone. See, now the cheese jokes are out of hand. I admit it, I’m a real muenster! Maybe a gorgon… zola that is!

Stormtrooper Cheese Board: May the Roquefort Be With You

Until now, the only things that were truly cheezy about the Star Wars universe were the prequels, especially Jar Jar Binks. But now you can have a Star Wars and cheese combo any time you desire, thanks to this fun stormtrooper cheese board set.

This cherry wood cheese board is laser engraved in the shape of a stormtrooper helmet, and when you remove the mask, you’ll find a Stilton knife, a Cheddar knife, a hard cheese knife and a cheese fork hiding underneath.

I think that’s it’s a much better idea to go with knives than laser blasters, since we all know that a stormtrooper can’t hit the broad side of a space freighter, let alone a block of gorgonzola. Perhaps they’ll do better with melee weapons like these.

You can pre-order the stormtrooper cheese board over at The Fowndry for $47(USD), and it should ship this November. Naturally, you’ll need to provide your own cheese and crackers.
