Reebok’s adaptive footwear collection truly wants to make life easier for disabled

Everyone deserves a pair of sneakers that amplifies the craving for everyday success. That said, the power of comfortable and accessible footwear should not be exclusive. Thankfully Reebok really wants to help the physically challenged community with a gimmick-free collection of lifestyle and performance-oriented sneakers.

Brands like Nike have lately offered adaptive sneakers for people with disability but were they affordable? Surely, not. The Go FlyEase hand-free sneakers are a good example of this fact. They were at one point in time very inaccessible, and some resellers listed them online for an exorbitant price tag of $2,000. In the end, their purpose of helping the disabled community got juxtaposed. Rebook wants to fix this with the Fit to Fit accessible footwear collection which is practical and priced sensibly for everyone to explore without burning a hole in the pocket.

Designer: Reebok and Zappos Adaptive

The new edition of sneakers is designed in partnership with Zappos Adaptive, and includes two sneakers crafted for easy on-and-off wear to facilitate disabled people. Dubbed the Nanoflex Parafit TR and Club MEMT Parafit, these sneakers are low-cut and feature removable sock liners (for orthotics) and high abrasion rubber outsoles for superior grip. While the Nanoflex Parafit TR has a breathable mesh upper, medial zipper and heel pull tab for easy putting on or taking off – the Club MEMT Parafit has a leather upper and extra 4E width.

Thankfully both the sneakers come in unisex sizing, and can be purchased as a pair, or as a single shoe too. Reebok has priced them both sensibly as the Nanoflex Parafit TR retails for $90, while the Club MEMT Parafit comes for $65. We genuinely hope the sneakers will not go out of stock, and end up selling for more prices at later stages. If that’s not the case, Reebok and Zappos are surely going to be popular brands among disabled people and physically challenged athletes. After all these functional pairs of footwear permit a life of independence and free movement. All this while maintaining Reebok’s iconic design and timeless silhouettes.

NikeCraft GPS Design

Ah, shoes, glorious shoes. Of course, nothing is going to stop us from getting a thrill over a new pair of shoes. Sneakerheads know the excitement of being shown a new pair, colorway, or iteration, especially if they are from a famous sports brand.

The NikeCraft lineup is getting a new addition in the form of the NikeCraft General Purpose Shoe (GPS). The new pair is described as an “Ordinary Shoe for Extraordinary People” as it can allow you to do everything, everywhere. The NikeCraft GPS celebrates a 10-year collaboration between Tom Sachs and Nike. This partnership has introduced several pairs already that offer new things for the future of sports and every athlete.

If you are to own only one Nike pair, the NikeCraft GPS should be it. It lets you enjoy all your activities with proper support and comfort. This pair is really for everyday use as you can even call it your daily tool.

Nike and Tom Sachs have been designing shoes that have an appeal of a sculpture. Some shoes these days are designed just to look good, but this new pair is wearable and actually comfortable. In addition, the NikeCraft GPS comes in a remarkable shape. The upturned toe is very obvious but complements the shoes’ distinct profile.

NikeCraft GPS

NikeCraft GPS X Tom Sachs Collection

The NikeCraft GPS comes with an ultra-breathable knit, microfiber collar, and straps with a signature. The three-piece molded cup sole appears differently, but it makes the pair very durable. The sole system comes with a very durable rubber outsole, EVA foam core, and a soft rubber midsole. The outsole has been redesigned with a rubber waffle laden with the US Patent and NikeCraft logo.

The shoe design appears simple, but the NikeCraft GPS’ structure and engineering enable the necessary support and comfort. Speaking of comfort, the pair boasts a lightning-holed foam tongue package with a heat-sealed edge. The NikeCraft woven label is found underneath the tongue.

NikeCraft GPS Tom Sachs

Artist Tom Sachs has this to say about his collaboration with Nike: “It took me years to best advantage the superpowers of scale and to deliver value while still reflecting the standards of my studio. A great collaboration is something that no partner could do without the other, and NikeCraft has always been a 50/50 collaboration.” He described the pair as something with “an understated quality.” He also mentioned, “they’re meant to do all the things that you do and tell your story.”

NikeCraft GPS Sole

The NikeCraft GPS will be available in different colorways. The launch version, though, will come with a more neutral look and feel with a muted white upper, gum rubber midsole, and the blue donning straps. The pair will be available in Women’s and Men’s sizes with a $110 price tag. That is an affordable rate you can get at nikecraft.com beginning the 10th of June.

As with some interesting pairs from Nike, the NikeCraft GPS becomes more beautiful over time. The shoes arrive in a custom box that features the NikeCraft logo. This Nike and Tom Sachs’ latest baby is expected to sell fast, especially with its price.

PATRON Tequila x John Geiger GF-01 Sneakers is one stylish and versatile pair

Patrón x John Geiger GF-01 Sneakers

Cinco de Mayo may be over, but we love interesting finds, especially if they are about our favorite things: alcohol and sneakers. Okay, so we’re not fans of alcohol, but we believe the market is so big that the world will and shall never run out of those special drinks.

Alcohol, specifically tequila and sneakers, may not be the best combination, but this special collab has become a success. Patrón Tequila has teamed up with designer John Geiger for a limited release of the GF-01 Sneakers. The pair’s design and color palette are based on the place where tequila production starts—Jalisco, Mexico.

Designer: John Geiger

Patrón x John Geiger GF-01 Sneakers Design Details

Patrón Tequila isn’t new when it comes to fashion collaborations. It released a streetwear line last year, and now, a new pair of special sneakers are ready. Well, they’re also sold out, but we doubt this will be the last of it from the brand and the designer.

The PATRÓN Tequila x John Geiger Limited Edition GF-01 Sneakers are made of rare materials with the designer’s creative principles in mind. Geiger was thinking about style, comfort, and versatility—and that’s what the sneakers offer. The shoes are versatile, like the PATRÓN tequila, so you are free to use the pair on the street or the court.

Patrón x John Geiger GF-01 Sneakers Collab

John Geiger’s signature street style and ‘g’ logo have been applied to the pair. The green and white colorway will remind you of the agave fields in Jalisco. The upper boasts a leather material with a white base and two shades of green. The white laces and outsole add to the calmness of the look. The brown collar then complements the white tongue. On the rear, we finally see Patrón’s bee logo. This is definitely one unique pair we know sneakerheads will dig.

Each pair was sold for $250 on the John Geiger web store. Patrón’s VP of marketing Chloe Lloyd-Jones shared, “Patrón has a captivating energy that brings like-minded partners together with us—these collaborators become part of our family.” She noted that Patrón is excited to be teaming up with John again.

Collab Patron x John Geiger GF-01 Sneakers

Sneaker collaborations are pretty standard, but this particular team-up between a tequila brand and a creative designer is perfect. It’s great for those who know great shoes and drinks. In the past decade alone, Vans, Nike, and Adidas have released numerous collabs and collections. Expect more collab deals will be signed, sealed, and delivered since this collaboration is a success.

Watercolor Sneakers perfect for the minimalist sneakerheads

Watercolor Sneakers Trainers

Designing a sneaker appears to be easy, but it’s not. It involves several processes and numerous people, especially if the new pair is from a top fashion or sports brand. In addition, design can take a lot of time as many things must be considered in the creative process.

Thomas Le has designed these Watercolor Sneakers. The industrial designer was the same guy who worked on the wireless earbuds with a spinning dial. He also presented the Di-Fuse Smartwatch—a minimalist watch that uses light and sound to convey information. For the sneakerheads, the designer also introduced the Adidas Air Jordans.

Designer: Thomas Le

Watercolor Sneaker Design

Controlled organic forms and patterns inspired the Watercolor Sneakers. The designer mentioned this pair was an exercise on surface modeling, visualization, and CMF exploration. It’s only a concept, but we want the design to go into production and the sneaker market.

The pair is no Nike or Adidas, but the brand can consider the design. It doesn’t feature any shoelace as it’s a slip-on. The upper appears to be something similar to the Charles Birshaw Modular Mule. There is a separate tongue, but the shoe collars are like Nike’s Flyknit.

The shoe features a pull tab for easy removal. The tab’s design features several X’s sewn onto the rear. The midsole and the outsole appear to be integrated as one unit. We can expect it to be comfortable and soft as trainers should be.

The Watercolor Sneakers’ design is very contemporary with a bit of a futuristic aesthetic. Interestingly, the pair can still be minimalistic even with the colors because of the simple design. The watercolor design offers that cool and refreshing appeal ideal for summer. In some ways, the structural design of the shoe reminds us of the Feebes Sock Sneakers.

Watercolor Sneakers Designer

Thomas Le rendered the Watercolor Sneakers in different colors: Peach, Blue, Neon Green, and White. The white version is the simplest of all. Of course, it could also be just the prototype, but the white pair can be a bestseller since many sneakerheads are always looking for the next best white sneakers.

Thomas Le’s shoe designs show us that he is a great industrial designer. If only this design and his other works would go into production, we’ll have another famous designer to talk about. In particular, his Adidas Air Jordans were presented as a natural collaboration between Michael Jordan and Adidas. Of course, that’s never happening, maybe not in this lifetime, but no one’s stopping you from dreaming.

LAYERS Modular Sneakers ready for a more sustainable fashion and economy

Layers Diogo Pimenta 8

A sustainable future is really possible with many big companies working on eco-friendly solutions. Whether products or services, there is the goal of efficiency towards a safe future and a planet that is healthy and habitable for our children.

Layers is a sustainable sneaker system that is self-locking. In addition, it boasts a renewable design that is intended for a circular economy. The modular sneakers result from a project that aims to facilitate a three-fold innovation. This includes increasing product life, encouraging customization, and switching to renewable footwear from a traditionally disposable design.

Designer: Diogo Pimenta

Layers Diogo Pimenta 5

The LAYERS sneakers system was a 2021 nominee for the Green Concept Award. It’s been recognized for its design and objectives. Diogo Pimenta knew what he was doing as he made his design easy to assemble and disassemble.

It’s a fact that for sneakers to be durable, they need to be properly glued, stitched, and assembled. The process is effective, but it makes the sneakers challenging to disassemble or recycle. The unsustainable method now has a solution: a self-locking system.

Layers Diogo Pimenta 5

Layers Diogo Pimenta 2

The new system features three main components: sole, outer sole, and cut. They make the shoes easy to assemble and disassemble. The system also results in the reduction of having too many or complicated elements in the footwear. This then results in easier maintenance, upgrading, and recycling for future use.

Layers Diogo Pimenta 10

The three-part modular sneakers will enter the circular economy. This isn’t the first pair of sustainable shoes we’ve seen, but we haven’t heard of modular sneakers until the LAYERS. The pair allows full personalization and reduces carbon footprint. The latter is possible because the sneakers are made locally in Portugal when usually, sneaker production is based in Asia.

The modular system allows the user customization of materials, colors, shapes, and finishes. The system will enable you to design and create your own pair of sneakers that are like no other. Feel free to express yourself with the LAYERS because the footwear allows sustainability while supporting the local economy. For the eco-conscious, a low carbon print can be noted.

Layers Diogo Pimenta 6

Diogo Pimenta shared a roadmap being promoted in Europe. The European Green Deal aims for a carbon-neutral Europe by the year 2050. A circular economy seeks to discover more innovation opportunities in different phases, from design to production.

Layers Diogo Pimenta 9

Diogo Pimenta believes the Design process is very crucial since it can drive change early. Making adjustments in the design process is possible so designers and manufacturers can refocus. It’s okay to make changes as you go through different processes, especially in the footwear industry.

Nike CryptoKicks NFT sneakers are for the metaverse fashion conscious

If you’re a sneakerhead in your real life, then you’ve got be ready for the coolest pair of sneakers in your virtual life too. That luxury comes courtesy of the Nike CryptoKicks for the metaverse worlds. And yes, don’t forget to lace them up while strolling in VR!

Nike had earlier filed seven metaverse-related trademark applications, clearly suggesting their affinity for the trending pop culture of virtual assets. In line with this future vision, the American multinational acquired RTFKT Studios, a digital fashion and 3D creation studio in December 2021. Now the first nectar of their creation is out for all to see. Yes, you know where this going, right?

Designer: RTFKT Studios

Nike and RTFKT’s first digital sneakers have been released and they call them the Nike CryptoKicks. It’s a design based on the Nike Dunk Genesis sneaker, and this is Nike’s foray into the world of NFTs, and eventually the metaverse. RTFKT labels this creation as the “Future of Sneakers” and we truly second that statement. Nike did hint at their interest in crafting digital sneakers and wearables back in November 2021, so after all this reveal isn’t a major surprise for keen followers.

People who own the RTFKT’s mysterious MNLTH digital box NFT which was airdropped for free to ones who have the Clone-X. There was some mystery around as to what the MNLTH cube actually holds, and now after almost three months we know one of its hidden gifts. The digital wearables can be shown off in the metaverse worlds as their look can be toggled via the collectible Skin Vials for different styles. For starters, the EVO X collection will kick off with eight different skins which can be beefed up with drip upgrades and special powers.

This virtual dunk silhouette gets an uber-futuristic bump-up with the metallic parts, a noticeably modified sole unit, and the paneling to match the swapping around of the screens for customization. CryptoKicks sneaker is going to be one of the many future releases in the pipeline and we can expect the skins library to grow exponentially too.

As Nike said at the launch of the CryptoKicks, “Nike is focused on potential ways to use blockchain technology to serve our consumers in the athletic footwear, apparel and equipment space. The MNLTH is just the start to a future of serving athletes in this space.”

Nike-inspired minimal trendy sneakers look so sleek, they’re destined for the moon!

Averted Vision is a futuristic shoe collection inspired by what sneakers might look like if they were worn on the moon.

The further we progress towards a technological future, the more tantalizing outer space becomes. It can feel like we’re closer than ever to our dreams of moving to the moon or Mars. As we dream about the possibilities, we might imagine ourselves wearing our Earth-bound clothes–a t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers.

Designer: Amr Elwan

But what would sneakers look like if they were specifically designed for use on the moon? Set on finding out, graphic designer Amr Elwan revealed his own sneakers design called Averted Vision, after “the first generation of human verbal expression on the moon.”

Defined by its cushioned design and minimalist profile, Averted Vision is practical and trendy. The cushioned soles take up around half of the shoe’s side profiles, providing ample bounce for playing without gravity. Conceptualized without shoelaces, Averted Vision could benefit from textile technology to form-fit around the wearer’s feet for a snug, comfy fit.

The silhouette of the shoe seems to be inspired by designs of today, like Yeezy Foam Runners and Boosts. These days, it sometimes feels like we’re a stone’s throw away from life on Mars, so it’s not surprising that designers tapped into the future are influenced by the trends of today. Envisioned in optic white and a slate gray, Elwan pictures his shoes with a minimalist appeal that’s rooted in the future but timeless by design.

Limited Edition Sneakers with Detachable Mullets: Party in the Back!

Because there’s a market for absolutely everything, including sneakers with detachable mullets, Volley of Australia is releasing the $85 Heritage High Mullet Edition, a sports sneaker with detachable Velcro mullets on the heel of each shoe. I can already see myself dragging those mullets through the mud, then sticking them in my own hair because I’m a wild animal.

And as if the shoes themselves weren’t enough to elicit an automatic purchase response, 100% of profits from sales will go towards Mullets for Mental Health, which raises money for mental health research. Cool shoes and a good cause – it’s a win/win!

I just bought two pairs: one to wear and one to keep mint in the box because these are obviously going to be a collector’s item one day. Or – and this has happened to me before – worth even less as time goes on. I’m a terrible investor. I may not have bought any Bitcoin when it was just pennies, but I do have a storage unit full of knock-off Beanie Babies I can’t seem to get rid of.

District Vision and New Balance team up to teach mindfulness, enhance running performance

To be mindful means to be more aware of your thoughts. It’s about being aware of your feelings and thoughts in response to the environment where you are at the moment. Life is about making the right choices, and they ought to be the best.

We’re not just talking about choices in fashion, consumer electronics, and mobile devices. Choices in life must be correct as they affect your happiness and wellbeing. But of course, the easiest way to show such characteristics is in the things that we use every day like clothes and footwear. So it’s not really just being stylish or fashionable but choosing items that are mindful of the person and his surroundings.

Designers: District Vision and New Balance

Sustainable fashion is already a known movement. From being eco-friendly, we now move to being mentally healthy which is a state that isn’t exactly easy to maintain. District Vision and New Balance have teamed up to push a unique partnership that will bring awareness and build a more mindful environment in the area of sports. Another goal is to educate people about mindfulness and explore the importance of movement and meditation.

The two brands’ first collaboration brings two brand-new DV + NB sneakers. Officially called District Vision X New Balance FuelCell RC Elite v2, this silhouette is available in two colors: White and Black. District Vision is a relatively new company that is more of a running brand and wellness collective. It has released a line of eyewear that became popular. It’s now trying its luck in the footwear and apparel game, and the DV + NB FuelCell RC Elite v2 is one of the first releases.

District Vision has already teamed up with other sports brands, but this partnership with New Balance brings to light both brands’ commitment to sports, health, and fitness. The FuelCell RC Elite v2 is one of New Balance’s most popular silhouettes. The pair can inspire people to run, move, and finally get moving. With mindfulness being added to the equation, we see a collaboration that genuinely cares for people.

District Vision and New Balance are all about the empowerment of the people. Health is not just about physical movement but also mental well-being. When you want to run, you can be mindful by thinking that such activity isn’t just a temporary escape and can be part of your life.

As for the other products part of the collaboration, the collection includes lightweight activewear and apparel with designs hand-drawn by Filip Pagowski. The shoes are also available in contrasting colors, giving the two different looks and feel. The design is sleek and appears to be lightweight, perfect for road runners. Thanks to the full-length carbon fiber plate, the pair is also comfortable, which can increase energy return. The outsole rubber is also lightweight together with a mid-foot cut out, resulting in reduced weight.

Running does good for your mental health and wellness. This pair can probably inspire you to get running and then eventually learn to be more mindful. You may not be able to offer all-out performance initially, but the two brands’ collaborative effort will empower you.

The District Vision New Balance FuelCell RC Elite V2 running sneaker is now available. In addition, the collaboration includes other items like Anti-Fog Glass, Balaclava, Singlet, Men’s Long Sleeve, Sherpa Pullover, Sherpa Pants, Pack Jacket, and Split Shorts. The clothing offers are now listed for pre-order and will soon be out in key markets.

District Vision and New Balance also offer micro-courses that will help educate and increase mental health through running. You can learn mindfulness when you hear from the providers and teachers. You will discover inner peace, mindfulness, and the benefits of motion through sports as promised by District Vision.

District Vision does research and development for mindful athletes. As a result, the brand comes up with products that can enhance performance and are functional. DV believes athleticism and mental wellbeing are connected, so the approach is holistic. It has proven successful when it comes to sports eyewear for runners and is now extending the same effort to footwear and apparel. For footwear, it has teamed up with New Balance to deliver a pair that helps enhance running performance.

District Vision and New Balance aim to celebrate mindfulness in motion. The partnership goes beyond the products as there’s mental health involved. We’ll get to know about DV Tapes courses and the mindful athlete uniforms the combined forces are working on in the near future.

Nike sustainable apparel and footwear take center stage in 2022 Move to Zero Collection

Sustainable fashion is more than just a bandwagon or a passing trend. We believe this move is here to stay as there is a need to become more friendly with the environment. It is not just the tech brands and consumer electronics companies that are pushing for sustainabilities, big fashion names and sports brands like Nike have already made the “Move to Zero.”

MOVE TO ZERO is Nike’s official campaign towards zero waste and zero carbon. It may seem impossible to achieve, but Nike knows it is our responsibility to protect the future of sports enthusiasts and Mother Earth. We have learned about the Nike playground constructed with 20,000 upcycled sneakers in recent months. We also remember the Nike Atsuma made from offcuts and the eco-friendly Nike SB Dunk High Cork.

Nike Collection Spring Summer 2022 Move to Zero

More products from Nike will prove that sustainability in fashion and the sneaker business is possible with new seasonal collections. These new footwear and apparel mix lines are a perfect mix of style, function, and sustainable materials. So as a new season begins, Nike is ready with collections that take advantage of sustainable methods and materials.

Nike is committed to achieving a future with less waste and reduced gas emissions. The target is zero waste—no waste should go to landfill by 2025. The mission seems ambitious, but it is good to have such marks. The new capsules are a clear move in the right direction for going green.

Nike’s impact on fashion and sports goes beyond what is sold in the market. These sustainable innovations will make the planet healthier and teach people to be more conscious about the environment and their choices. The new Nike capsules include popular silhouettes such as the Air Max Moti, Tech Pack, Nike Pro, Nike Sun Club, and some of the classics reimagined.

Nike Classics

Nike Classics Move to Zero Sustainable Fashion

Nike, the top sports brand in the world, has shared the latest environment-friendly seasonal collections. Let’s start with the Nike Classics as this collection is released in time for the company’s 50th anniversary. Three classics now have sustainable versions: the Nike Dunk Low Next Nature, Nike Blazer Mid ’77 Next Nature, and the Nike Waffle One Crater Next Nature. The latter actually boasts 25% recycled synthetic leather on some details and 100% recycled polyester twill upper. Even the Crater Foram midsole, heel clip, and midsole are made of at least 10% recycled materials as described.

Nike has maintained the iconic styles but with a twist. There is less impact on the environment as some 20% of the materials are utilized. According to Nike, this set honors the brand’s “roots while looking to its future.” The designers decided to make use of Nike Grind rubber and recycled synthetic leather and recycled polyester.

The combination of colors alone shows us this collection is not just about sustainability. The sneakers are fun and ready for Summer. Like the Nike Classics, the new pairs are made of recycled laces, recycled synthetic suede, and recycled textile uppers. About 20 percent of content is recycled by weight. This particular series features different classic silhouettes such as the Nike Court Vision Lo NN, Nike Blazer Low ’77 NN, Nike Air Force 1 LV8 NN, and the Nike Air Max Pre-Day.

Nike Air Max

Nike Air Max Dawn

The Nike Air Max is well-loved by sneakerheads for several reasons. The series is famous for its Air Max and Nike Air technology, and it’s getting modern versions in the form of the Nike Air Max Motif, Nike Air Max Dawn, and the Nike Air Max 2021. In time for spring/summer 2022, the Nike Air Max 90, Nike Air Max 95, and Nike Air Max 97 are re-stocked but now with uppers made of recycled content.

Nike Pro

Nike Pro Shorts Move to Zero

This collection of apparel takes advantage of sustainable and lower-impact materials. The use of such materials is crucial, especially for popular products like the Nike Pro shorts and tights. Nike has been using materials of at least 50% recycled polyester for most Nike Pro products.

Nike Sportswear

Nike Sportswear Nike Move to Zero

Nike Tech Pack Move to Zero

The more eco-conscious Nike Sportswear includes small parts made with Nike Grind materials. You will notice them in the logos, drawcords, and zipper pulls. The new Nike Windrunner jacket is also made of recycled materials such as more Nike Grind chips, virgin TPU, and even recycled Nike footwear Airbag TPU. The 2022 Nike Sportswear Capsule collection features clothes and apparel from previous waste like recycled TPU and more recycled nylon mixed with organic cotton fibers.

Nike Tech Pack

Nike Jacket Move to Zero

Nike Tech Pack is another result of sustainable innovation. Recycled materials such as recycled nylon and recycled content are combined with organic cotton fibers. This year’s Tech Pack includes a new parka for women, an insulated vest for men, and new woven pants. The pair of pants come in washed color due to less use of chemicals.
