A Mug with Magnet Magic

mug_plus_1

Clankity clank. That’s one sound we avid tea drinkers wouldn’t mind never hearing again! But it’s not because of the spoon sound, it’s because of how it moves! The stirring spoon we use can be such a nuisance once your finished using it. It drips if you take it out right away, and it tumbles around if you leave it in. Mug+ eliminates the problem with a cleverly integrated magnet that keeps the spoon in place when you’re not using it to stir! Better yet, it comes with a specially shaped metal tea strainer that fits snugly against the interior wall of the cup where the magnet is so you barely notice it’s there!

Bob Ross Heat Change Coffee Cup: Happy Little Caffeine

I always wanted to learn to paint despite the fact that I have little artistic talent. I watched a lot of Bob Ross on The Joy of Painting growing up, and he always seemed to make creating an awesome landscape look like it was dead simple.

I always liked that there were no mistakes in Bob’s world – only happy accidents and happy little trees. Now you can celebrate Ross’ unending positivity every time you take a sip of your coffee.

When you put a hot liquid into the cup, a cool night mountain scene appears on his easel. See, I told you he made it look so easy. The mug will cost you $12.99(USD) at ThinkGeek.

If you feel like getting your paint on, drop by the official Bob Ross YouTube channel, where you can watch a bunch of classic episodes.

The Best Part of Waking up Is Fallout in Your Cup

I know some people who can’t think until they get at least a few cups of coffee into them. Fans of coffee and Fallout will want to start their day out right with this Pip Boy molded mug. This thing is a big and bulky mug that looks like a Pip Boy ready to be attached to your arm for life.

The beast holds an impressive 48 ounces of liquid, giving you enough to get through at least the first half hour of your day. The mug is made of ceramic and won’t remove Rads from your drink, so consider yourself warned.

You do have to hand wash the mug, but you can nuke it to warm your beverages making it perfect for post-apocalyptic caffeine intake. It sells for $19.99(USD) and is available at ThinkGeek.

Weeping Angel Relief Mug: Coffee with Sugar and Creep

Before you know it, the annual office Secret Santa thing will start up and you will end up having to buy a gift for the that odd guy across the hall. Coffee cups are a great gift idea for such occasions, because they aren’t so personal that the person you give it to will try and talk to you about it.

Every fan of Doctor Who I have ever met has had some sort of tell to indicate they like the show. All you need to do is look for a TARDIS something or other on or about their person. It might also be in their office or cubicle. If you find that Who indicator, you should order this coffee mug.

The Who fan will be ecstatic if they get it as a Secret Santa gift. And if you do one of those randomly-selected gift exchanges and the recipient doesn’t like Doctor Who, you’ll scare the crap out of them. That might be an even better result.

The creepy ceramic mug holds 12 oz. of coffee, but you can’t microwave it or dishwash it. Also, don’t blink. It’s on ThinkGeek for $9.99 (USD).

Star Wars Stormtrooper Mug Will Miss your Lips

I think if you are trying to reduce your caffeine intake, this is the perfect coffee cup for you. It’s a Stormtrooper helmet and since Stormtroopers are notoriously bad at hitting things, the drink will never make it into your mouth.

That means your 24 ounces of coffee will stay in the mug – or spill all over the table – thereby reducing your caffeine intake. There, I just solved your issue with jitters. You’re welcome.

This mug goes perfectly with the Darth Vader helmet mug, which is known to force crush caffeine cravings. Get your own Stormtrooper mug at ThinkGeek for $24.99.

Brando Coffee Cup Bluetooth Speaker: A Prank for the World’s Best Dad

When my boss sent the link to Brando’s Bluetooth speaker I thought it was going to be a coffee cup that doubled as a speaker. I’ve clearly been out of touch with this wacky company. Because of course this is their take on a coffee cup speaker.

Just look at where its buttons and switches are. *slow clap*

The foam in this cappuccino of craziness is its price: Brando is selling the speaker for $52 (USD). Keep fighting the weird fight guys.

Plantable Coffee Cup Needs Seed Money

Drinking coffee is so wasteful when you consider how many people order a coffee everyday and then throw their cups away. But there may be a better way to drink coffee and not harm the environment. The World’s First Plantable Coffee Cup aims to help.

seed_cup_1zoom in

This Kickstarter campaign will produce biodegradable single-use coffee cups that have seeds embedded in them that will grow when planted. I’m not sure how many people will actually take the time to plant the cups instead of just throwing them out, but even if they get thrown on the side of the road these at least have a chance to grow into something pretty rather than grow into a trash pile.

The project has already beaten its modest $10,000 fundraising goal, so it’s definitely moving forward. It’s a cool idea. Give them some seed money and watch it grow.

Cute Creatures Crawling Out of Your Coffee Cup

attachment

What look like inconspicuous cups from the outside are in fact lairs of cute creatures that rest at the bottom, waiting for you to finish your coffee or tea so that they can crawl out.

This might sound creepy, but the concept oozes with creativity and awesomeness, at the same time. ...

Garcon, one Cup of Light please

There’s a little light in every wonderful project, and here on Yanko Design we’ve got to appreciate the tools just as much as the ideas we produce – for example here a tiny light producer called “T Light”. What this little lamp is essentially a lightbulb in a coffee cup covered by a bit of cloth which enhances the overall quality of your experience. Look like your cuteness to go?

That’s exactly what’s greatest about this project: the fact that it is cute as well as quite possibly the most ergonomically designed tiny lamp in the land. Place this unit in your coffee cup holder, set it on your desk, and place it on your nightstand – all of this works great with a tiny bit of light!
