EDITOR'S QUOTE:

Cute, compact, and capable, the Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe charging station is a great addition to any Apple fan's arsenal if they can overlook the charging time and price tag.

With Apple’s trifecta of mobile devices that can charge wirelessly, there has been a rise in charging stations that try to accommodate all three. While it isn’t always the case, many people who own an iPhone are likely to also own an Apple Watch or AirPods. Conversely, those who own an Apple Watch or AirPods are guaranteed to own an iPhone. 3-in-1 wireless charging docks for these three initially came in the most common form of a flat bed, but this design has become somewhat old-fashioned and impractical because of the amount of space they take up. Some charging dock designs have become smarter and fancier to use very little space, but these beautiful docks are not things you’ll be able to take with you on your travels. Casting its net wide, Anker launched a rather adorable 3-in-1 Cube charging station for that very purpose, so give it a few spins to see if it’s more than just a pretty face.

Designer: Anker

Aesthetics

The Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe’s design is uncommon enough to grab anyone’s attention, at least anyone that’s paying too much attention to your desk or stuff. In its inactive and folded form, the charging station almost looks like a desk toy if not for the obvious Anker branding. Its black surface and premium looks do suggest that it’s no plaything, though, but it will still be eye-catching either way.

When fully unfolded, the Cube looks like a toy battle station with its tilted top and extruded shelf on one side. Those familiar with wireless charging accessories will now see telltale signs of that kind of functionality, especially with the ring that marks MagSafe-compatible chargers as well as the white concave surface common to Apple Watch chargers. When all charging surfaces are occupied, the charging station definitely looks the part of a battle station. Some might find it too busy to the point of being distracting, but it definitely saves a lot of horizontal and vertical space to keep your desk or shelf tidy.

The accessory is pretty minimal in terms of visual design, but Anker put a few odd accents that try to spice things up without making much sense. There is a small patch of reflective material on the front for the hinge of the adjustable phone charger, for example. Even stranger, however, is the mirror surface beneath that “lid,” reflecting the AirPods case charger or the case itself. Its purpose is a complete mystery since it can’t really be used as a mirror for your face, nor does it reflect anything that you wouldn’t be able to see directly anyway.

All-in-all, the Cube’s unique appearance makes it a good accent on a desk, whether folded or unfolded. Its compact form, however, is also ideal for stuffing into your bag when you need to travel with all your Apple devices. It is a bit heavy at 14.46oz/409g, but that also means it will stand without wobbling on desks or tables, even if all you’re charging is the Apple Watch and nothing else.

Ergonomics

The Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe has a simple appearance that belies its functionality. After all, who would expect that a small box would be able to hold three devices all at once? Fortunately, the accessory is also so easy to use that you can never go wrong, even if you try hard. It’s trivial to set any of the three charging spots up and still fold the box down in a flash, making it ideal for people who need to pack up and go at a moment’s notice.

The charging area for iPhones and other compatible smartphones lifts up like the lid of a treasure box, except that the opening is facing away from you. This allows the phone to be tilted to face you rather than always looking up at the ceiling. It can only tilt as far as 60 degrees, but that’s more than enough to see the phone’s screen comfortably. Since this is MagSafe charging, the phone won’t slide down in that position, either. Even better, you can put the phone sideways, too, turning the charging station into an ad hoc stand for watching videos.

The Apple Watch charger pops out from the side with a simple push, revealing a familiar surface for placing the phone. This retracting mechanism makes it super easy to access that function without getting in the way when you don’t need it. There is enough space to accommodate Apple Watches from any generation, though the small space might make for a tight fit for the larger Ultra model. Unlike the iPhone charging part, the Apple Watch charging platform is fixed at its angle, so you won’t have access to its Nightstand feature while charging. That might not be necessary since the iPhone can be charged at a visible angle, but that won’t be the case if the Apple Watch is the only one sitting there.

In comparison to the iPhone and the Apple Watch, the charger for AirPods is a bit more awkward but still convenient nonetheless. You’ll have to flip the phone charging “lid” open to put the charging case in the gap, so there’s no way to keep that top closed while charging the AirPods. Since it will be lying at the back of the charger, there’s no way to check the case’s charging status without having to turn the box. It’s not exactly too much work, but it could be inconvenient, especially if you consider that the charging cable could be pulled in the process.

Performance

While the 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe offers the convenience of charging all three devices at the same time, it doesn’t exactly offer the fastest charging speeds for any of them. On the box, the iPhone MagSafe charger maxes out at 15W, while the AirPods charger goes up to 5W. Perhaps the most disappointing figure is the Apple Watch charger at its max speed of 5W.

The 15W output of the iPhone charger is admittedly faster than what the old Apple chargers put out for years, but it’s hardly the fastest now that Apple has adopted more modern technologies. It can charge an iPhone 14 Pro Max to full in almost three hours, but smaller iPhones will definitely charge faster. The magnets are definitely strong enough to keep that large iPhone in place, but some people might want to take particular note of the cases they use, just in case they’re too thick to make a proper connection.

At 5W, the Apple Watch charger is sadly behind the times, but that might not matter much to people who charge the smartwatch overnight or during working hours. It takes about two hours and a half to fill the Apple Watch, which is plenty of time except if you’re in a hurry. Anker is definitely capable of providing more power, but it might have had to make some compromises in order to gain Apple’s certification for MagSafe products. In a compact box like this, higher output could result in higher temperatures that could, in turn, become a safety risk.

Anker ships a 30W charger in the box along with a 5ft/1.5m USB-C cable (more on that later). That high output is necessary to supply enough power to all three devices simultaneously, so it’s also good that the respective chargers need very little in the first place. The power brick has foldable plugs that make it compact and easy to throw in a bag, along with the 3-in-1 Cube. Given its output, it might even be the only charger you’ll have to bring along aside from your laptop charger, even for some wired devices.

Sustainability

Like many accessories for mobile devices and consumer electronics, the 3-in-1 Cube for MagSafe uses plenty of plastic materials. Fortunately, Anker is one of those companies that are trying to change that formula and reduce its negative impact on the environment. The charging station itself is typical in that regard, but Anker has taken steps to mitigate the damage.

Like Apple itself, it started by reducing the amount of plastic it uses in packaging by an average of 90%. It has also switched the inner material of the packaging from plastic to pulp and has used 100% FSC-certified recyclable packaging paper, which also uses natural soy ink to reduce the use of harmful chemicals. While the Cube itself has plenty of plastic, its more compact size allowed Anker to reduce that by 30.9g during its construction.

Unfortunately, those sustainability gains are undone by shipping a charger with the Cube. On the one hand, it is definitely convenient since you won’t have to scavenge for a 30W charger, presuming you don’t already have one anyway. Admittedly, not all iPhone users have such a fast charger since Apple no longer ships one with iPhones. With the addition of adapters for different plugs, that still adds quite a significant amount of plastic to the total package, not to mention making the packaging bigger than it could be.

There’s also the worry of repairs and replacement parts, especially with a pop-out mechanism for the Apple Watch charger. It’s a little more complex than a simple hinge and adds moving parts that will wear and tear over time. It could definitely be the part that will get damaged first, and it won’t be something that owners will be able to fix on their own. And once that mechanism is broken, accessing one of the critical functions of the device also goes out the window.

Value

In terms of design and convenience alone, the Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe looks like a solid deal already. Cute, attractive, compact, and multi-functional, it is both an excellent travel accessory as well as an eye-catching desk decoration. And since it comes with a Made for MagSafe certification, it comes with the same confidence and trust that people give Apple’s first-party products.

It does cost a rather hefty $149.95, which is quite higher than what other 3-in-1 docks cost. Given how average the charging speeds are, you might be reluctant to make such an investment, especially if you’re one that relies heavily on super-fast charging. That said, you’d be hard-pressed to find something as adorable and as space-efficient as this, especially one that you can easily pack with you on your regular travels.

Verdict

Who said that charging docks have to be literal docks that take up a lot of space on your desk or shelf? Who says that they have to stay on said desk or shelf in the first place? The Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe Charging Station definitely doesn’t say so and challenges the status quo of its kind. Yes, it is a bit pricey, and the charging speeds could be better, but one can imagine that Anker had to make some compromises to keep the device small and satisfy Apple’s requirements. Minimal yet attractive, compact yet multi-functional, this little box makes a great companion anywhere, whether on your desk or your hotel room’s bedside table.

This MagSafe power bank can charge an iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods all at once

We’ve come to rely on a lot of gadgets in our lives today. From smartphones to smartwatches, we surround ourselves with battery-powered devices that often need to be charged every now and then. That’s especially true if you’re knee-deep into Apple’s mobile ecosystem, owning an iPhone and the accessories that go along with it. Keeping these devices charged at home is no longer a problem, thanks to a variety of multi-functional chargers that try to accommodate all of them at the same time. When you’re on the go, however, it’s an entirely different matter, especially because they have different ways to charge. This new portable battery pack from Momax, however, solves all of that and is the only power bank you’ll need to top up your Apple gadgets all at the same time.

Apple’s new MagSafe for iPhone opened the doors to a new breed of accessories that could take advantage of the magnet-aligned wireless charging technology. Many docks for home or office use incorporated these wireless technologies to create a haven for iPhones, Apple Watches, and compatible AirPods cases, many of which can charge all three devices simultaneously. While convenient, the problem with these docks is that you can’t bring any of them outside, let alone use them when there’s no power outlet to plug into.

MagSafe-compatible power banks do exist, but those are designed only for iPhones, leaving no room for its accessories. That’s where the Momax AirBox Go comes in, providing a home away from home for your Apple devices. Even more importantly, you don’t actually have to choose between those devices which to charge first because you can charge them all at the same time. Even if you don’t actually need to charge them simultaneously, it’s still reassuring that you can use the same power bank for your iPhone, Apple Watch, or AirPods.

The AirBox Go uses a rather ingenious design to make this possible. There is a small circle that flips up in order to support charging an Apple Watch even in Nightstand mode. There is a cover that reveals a nook for an AirPods wireless charging case. And, of course, there’s that telltale circle for MagSafe for iPhones. In addition to ensuring a precise alignment every time, the magnet is also strong enough to hold an iPhone in place, even while holding the power bank upside down.

The Momax AirBox Go is also no slouch when it comes to actual power output. With a 10,000mAh battery inside, the battery pack can charge an iPhone three times over at a fast 15W output. That’s twice the output of most aftermarket MagSafe power banks. And for everything else, there’s still a 20W USB-C port that can be used to juice up other devices, such as an iPad mini. Of course, it can also be used for any USB-C device, like that odd Android phone you might have lying around.

Portable, powerful, multi-functional, and convenient, the Momax AirBox Go offers the ultimate flexibility in charging your iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods wherever you go. Mixing the best of Apple technologies with innovative design, this power bank might very well be the only one you’ll ever need. For just $136, you no longer have to worry about your Apple devices running out of power, especially when you need to charge them all at the same time.

This minimalist 3-in-1 MagSafe charger seems to defy the laws of physics

MagSafe has been around even before the time of the iPhone, but Apple repurposed the brand for an almost magical innovation. The company famed for its design chops took existing technology and added just a single, simple thing, and it opened the floodgates to accessories that made wireless charging not only popular but also hip. MagSafe wireless chargers now come in a variety of forms, from cardholders that stick to the back of your iPhone to folding mats that you stick your iPhone onto. It also gave birth to quite a few innovative or downright crazy designs that took advantage of the science of magnets. Without going overboard, this compact wireless charger not only brings a space-efficient way to charge three devices at once, but it also makes your iPhone seemingly hover on top of your nightstand or desk like magic.

Designer: Twelve South

It isn’t necessarily a general truth, but more often than not, an iPhone owner would also have other Apple products in their possession. This could be an Apple Watch, a pair of AirPods, or even a MacBook. Apple’s deep dive into magnetic wireless charging means that almost all these accessories support MagSafe, which, in turn, means each one might have its own wireless charger. It’s that situation that has given rise to many 2-in-1 or even 3-in-1 MagSafe chargers, many of which start to look like each other. Twelve South’s new HiRise 3 stands out not just because of how tall it is but because of how little space it takes up to charge an iPhone and two of its friends.

True to its name, the HiRise 3 takes inspiration from tall buildings that take advantage of vertical space where horizontal space is scarce. It maximizes each and every surface of the vertically-oriented stand, like using the base as a charging pad for compatible AirPods cases. In fact, that base can even be used to charge Android phones capable of wireless charging. And despite how many devices it can hold at the same time, it manages to keep a clean, minimalist appearance that looks beautiful without calling too much attention to itself.

Its real talent, however, is how it manages to hold an iPhone 12 or later models hanging from a small height. Not only does this solve the problem of space, leaving enough room for AirPods or another phone underneath, it also lets owners easily see their iPhone screen, whether the stand is on a work desk or on a bedside table. Some might find that position a bit nerve-wracking as if waiting for the iPhone to fall down, but the strong magnets used in MagSafe ensure it won’t meet any accidents while you slumber.

The Twelve South HiRise 3 might not be the perfect solution for everyone, especially those that prefer to use their Apple Watch in Nightstand mode. The package also doesn’t include a 20W USB-C charger that’s needed to juice up the three devices at the same time, employing the same line of thinking that has banished iPhone chargers from the box. Those, however, might just be little nitpicks that don’t completely detract from the HiRise 3’s multi-functional yet minimalist appeal, especially when you consider that there are very few that have a very small footprint like this.

Gameboy-inspired MagSafe powerbank gives up to 10000mAh extra power

MAG.L MagSafe Powerbank 10000mAh Product Designer

MAG.L MagSafe Powerbank 10000mAh Product DesignIt looks like the MagSafe connector system is here to stay, and we believe it will be until Apple says otherwise or there is a new technology available. This MagSafe system offers easy connectivity and wireless charging for Apple gadgets, allowing many devices from the brand to be more accessible, convenient, and efficient to use. There are plenty of MagSafe-compatible products and accessories, but there are not many power banks or battery packs available. We may have seen a few already but perhaps nothing like this MAG.L MagSafe Powerbank with its 10000mAh capacity. Introduced by Neo Bie and Leigui Lui for Stylepie, this thing aims to improve the wireless charging and power bank experience of anyone who will get this portable accessory.

Designers: Leigui Li and Neo Bie

MAG.L MagSafe Powerbank 10000mAh Details

The MAG.L MagSafe Powerbank will remind you of an old Gameboy for its shape and design, featuring the usual four operation buttons: SELECT, START, A, B, and a d-pad (directional pad). The lower portion of the yellow powerbank has a cover that slides to work as the stand of the powerbank. There is also an LCD screen that we assume will show basic information like date, time, battery level, or the charging status. Unlike the Gameboy, this one has a thin body but is sturdy enough to hold a smartphone. From a different angle, we can see the accessory looking as if there are several layers of cards, and on one side, there are small LED lights that indicate the battery level. This is mainly a power bank, but unlike the old style we know, this one can stand on its own and can hold a phone at a safe and convenient angle.

The designers developed a new stand structure using a combination of leather, magnets, and iron for the wireless charging station that can offer up to 10000mAh of power for most of your MagSafe-compatible gadgets. The newly-designed MAG.L MagSafe Powerbank for Stylepie can be compared with the MAG.T MagSafe Phone Case for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13, also from Stylepie. In addition, the brand based in Shenzhen has been offering different mobile accessories like the iMac G4 MagSafe charger + stand, and we know more related products will be introduced.

MAG.L MagSafe Powerbank 10000mAh Details

You see, the MagSafe’s return and reinvention result from the arrival of new iPhone models beginning with the iPhone 12. The MagSafe accessories suddenly became an instant hit after several years, primarily because of the magnetic mechanism. There is something novel about things sticking to your phone, and like most charging pads, this can also work with Apple gadgets like the Airpods or the Apple Watch.

There is a MagSafe accessory just for your every need, and we recently shared with you the Top 10 Apple MagSafe accessories we know. But, of course, we won’t forget that Momax Q.Mag Power 8 transparent MagSafe wireless power bank that was released on the market a few months ago. Neo Bie also previously introduced a dual-duty MagSafe power bank that has got you covered as made possible by the double capacity compared to other conventional MagSafe devices.

Apple MagSafe Accessories that are the best investments of 2021 for tech lovers!

The arrival of the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro models was accompanied by the reinvention and return of MagSafe, and it became an instant hit! There is a great sense of satisfaction, in my opinion, to have things just stick to your phone. Be it a pair of earphones (maybe that’ll be the next generation of AirPods) or have your phone just conveniently stick to a charging pad – it’s almost like magic! The reintroduction of the MagSafe led to a whole new world of accessories being unleashed! Designers and creatives were racing to create a whole range of products for the repurposed MagSafe. And we’ve been loving every bit of it! From a MagSafe-compatible accessory that turns your iPhone into a nifty DSLR camera to a pair of TWS earbuds – there’s a MagSafe accessory out there for your every need. And, we’ve curated a bunch of products that we truly believe are worth buying and investing in. This army of accessories will truly amp up your Apple experience!

The Fjorden turns your iPhone into a hybrid DSLR. It physically snaps onto the back of your iPhone, giving you analog camera controls including a two-stage shutter button, a jog dial, a zoom slider, and even an extra multi-function button you can use to do stuff like trigger the flash. The overall form is comfortably tactile and grippy (and comes with the same texture found on cameras) and orients the buttons in a way that’s intuitive and easy to use (so you don’t have to sprain your thumb to reach the shutter button while holding your phone with the same hand). Moreover, the actual physical buttons allow you to use the camera with gloves on, an understated-yet-impressive upgrade to the iPhone camera experience).

The Snapods by Scendo are a pair of TWS Earbuds that come with a flat case that snaps right to the back of your phone. Building wonderfully on the capabilities of the MagSafe feature introduced in the latest iPhones, the Snapods make carrying earphones convenient. Just snap them to the back of your phone and you’ve got yourself a pair of earphones that are easy to store, quick to access, and hard to lose. The case’s design is inspired directly by where it’s located. Made to sit against the back of your phone, the Snapods case comes with a flat, wedge-shaped profile, making it easy to slip your phone into your pocket. The slim case doesn’t just dock the earphones, it charges them too, giving you an impressive 45 hours of playtime.

The NUMBER ZERO’s design comes with a clever bit of consideration that’s often overlooked by other companies. The mount’s design was created to look good even there’s NO phone mounted on it. Rather than just use that opportunity to slap a massive piece of branding onto the mount’s design, the NUMBER ZERO comes with a neat little kinetic animation that’s powered by the wind from the AC. The mount comes with a variety of animations to choose from, all of which feature a rotating element that’s powered by the wind coming off the AC vent at the back. The air from the vent pushes a series of gears that then cause the kinetic animation to gently rotate, allowing the NUMBER ZERO to look eye-catching even when the phone isn’t mounted in place.

Chau is a wireless charger that can be either mobile or stationary. Much like wireless chargers already on the market, Chau comes in two parts: a wireless charger and its charging dock. The charging dock can be plugged into any outlet and features two charging stations for Apple products. The raised charging station holds the auxiliary charger in place so users can either leave their phone to charge on the dock or dislodge the auxiliary charger from its magnetic port and charge on the go. Working from home, we don’t have all of the supplemental charging accessories that fill up the office and our appliances with juice. Chau is designed especially for new WFH circumstances, where we move from one room to the next with our iPhones in tow and our chargers left behind. With Chau, our iPhones can always have access to some extra battery juice.

Designer Abdelrahman Shaapan has an idea – Magsafe Storage. Designed to resemble Apple’s newly launched MagSafe Battery Pack (although Abdel came up with this design all the way back in May), the iStorage is a nifty wireless drive that lets you add extra storage to your phone in literally a snap. To most people, it would seem quite unlike Apple to release a product that competes with one of its other services, but then again, the iPad is constantly pitched against the MacBook by being referred to as the laptop reinvented. For a while, the AirPods and the Beats by Dre constantly competed with each other too. Similarly, the iStorage is ‘somewhat’ a competitor to Apple’s iCloud service… although it’s purpose-built to work as more of an offline-only storage system. Snap it on, and the iPhone’s internal memory instantly gets a boost. You can back your phone up to the iStorage, or just transfer heavy files to it, like a wireless pen-drive.

Apple MagSafe Battery Pack

Apple MagSafe Battery Pack

The MagSafe Battery pack comes in white with a subtle gray Apple logo on it (since it blocks the logo on your iPhone when it snaps on). It comes with a 1460 mAh battery on the inside (that can juice your iPhone up to 50%) and supplies power to your iPhone at a less-than-impressive 5W. The battery pack itself charges via a lightning port at its base and supports pass-through charging too, so you can simultaneously charge the wireless battery pack as well as your iPhone. Apple’s software cleverly manages the power delivery to both the devices, and when plugged in, bumps up the power supply to 15W-20W (depending on your charger), resulting in a faster charge. Given that it’s ultimately an Apple accessory, you can see your MagSafe Battery Pack’s overall battery level on your iPhone too (just like with other Apple products like the AirPods and Watch).

Dubbed a ‘wireless charging sandwich’ by The Verge, the Magnetic Dual Powerbank from Zens is quite literally the ‘meat’ in this equation, i.e., it brings all the flavor! The wireless power bank comes with not one, but TWO charging coils, located on either side of the device, letting you simultaneously charge two devices at a time. Zens’ Magnetic Dual Powerbank comes with an internal 4,000 mAh battery that’s good for 1.5 full smartphone charges. The power bank is MagSafe compatible on one side too, allowing you to easily snap your iPhone to it without worrying about alignment. The other non-magnetic side is good for your AirPods, or potentially even a second smartphone (if you’re that kind of person).

The Bellroy Mod Case gives your iPhone an aesthetic and functional makeover, cladding it in a grippy, non-slip leather robe that feels great to the touch, along with a snap-on card wallet that holds as many as 3 cards at a time. Designed to work with the MagSafe feature built into the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro, the case + wallet comes in 4 leather-tanned colors, with a flex polymer bumper around the edge of the case, and a microfiber-lined inner to protect your phone and cards from getting scratched or damaged. The Mod Case goes beyond Apple’s leather cases with its eco-tanned, full-grain design. It highlights the leather’s wonderful grain, elevating the iPhone with its premium choice of material. The case supports Apple’s other MagSafe accessories including its wireless charger and is purpose-built to snap on Bellroy’s Mod Wallet.

Meet the Fantom C, a MagSafe wallet designed to complement the Apple iPhone in durability and function. It comes machined from a Cerakoted billet of aluminum. The ceramic coating on the Aluminum makes it tougher and more abrasion-resistant, while a neat carbon-fiber finish on the surface of the wallet gives it a much more reliable and rugged appeal. Designed as a piece of EDC that pairs beautifully with your iPhone 12, the Fantom C gives you a dedicated space to store your cards right on the back of your phone. Magnets on its rear-side allow it to snap to the iPhone with a satisfying click, and at 0.31 inches (8 mm) thick, it’s marginally thicker than Apple’s own MagSafe wallet, but then again, the Fantom C is also capable of much more.

With an output of 15W, the charger matches the power delivery of Apple’s own MagSafe Charger, albeit with a sustainable twist. The Gomi Wireless Mag Charger works with all wireless-charging enabled devices, allowing you to charge your phone, AirPods, and any other devices you may have. Its MagSafe compatibility works with iPhones 12 and future MagSafe models, allowing you to snap your phone right in place, aligning the wireless charging coils perfectly for uninterrupted charging.

This MagSafe car mount for your iPhone 12 also doubles up as a car-based air freshener

You might as well be a jack of all trades when you’re designing a product that’s got stiff competition, right? Sure, your smartphone car-mount can hold your phone, but can it freshen the air too? That’s sort of the direction the NUMBER ZERO is going for. A MagSafe-compatible car-mount that sits universally on any car’s AC vent, the NUMBER ZERO lets you snap your iPhone on without worrying about clamps, grips, friction, or flimsy parts. It secures your phone in either landscape or portrait orientation using a series of robust magnets that can hold up to 12-times the iPhone’s weight, and even comes with an air-diffuser that relies on the AC-vent behind your phone to disperse any fragrance of your choice all around the car.

You can choose between hypnotic loops, a rotating mandala, a compass, and a variety of fun space and ocean-inspired animations, or even make your own, using a blank transparent wheel that comes along with each NUMBER ZERO onto which you can stick your own illustrations.

Right alongside the fan-powered mechanism that runs the kinetic animation is NUMBER ZERO’s aroma diffuser, which lets you put a couple of drops of your favorite fragrance or essential oil. The minute you do, the fan inside the car mount rotates and projects aroma-filled air all around the car, filling it up with fragrance and getting rid of any musty smell.

The NUMBER ZERO’s unique magnetic array works directly with all iPhones 12 and above (or previous models along with the MagSafe case). While its front holds onto the iPhone rather securely, its universal clip on the back mounts onto any car’s AC vent without requiring any tools or special know-how.

The mount rotates to let you use your phone in portrait or landscape, and even pops out, working almost like a kickstand on any tabletop surface. When not in use, its ambient kinetic animation keeps playing (when wind-powered by the AC vent behind it), and can even be hand-powered like a nifty little fidget toy… which you can additionally customize with your own animation design. The NUMBER ZERO is available at a special price of $15 just for YD readers, and begins shipping in October.

Crazy MagSafe ‘iStorage’ adds a snap-on physical drive to increase the storage on your iPhone

Sure, a MagSafe battery pack is nice, but how about some extra MagSafe storage for my iPhone’s camera roll?

Everyone knows those pesky iCloud fees can be an absolute bummer. Yes, Apple makes it very certain that you’re getting a whole lot of functionality for the price, but what if I just want to bump up my phone’s storage because I’m busy clicking selfies and taking videos on my iPhone? Designer Abdelrahman Shaapan has an idea – Magsafe Storage. Designed to resemble Apple’s newly launched MagSafe Battery Pack (although Abdel came up with this design all the way back in May), the iStorage is a nifty wireless drive that lets you add extra storage to your phone in literally a snap.

How would the iStorage even work in theory? Clearly, the MagSafe is built just for hooking accessories to the iPhone and chargers to the wireless-charging coil. How would the iStorage even transfer data? Well, even though Abdelrahman’s iStorage is just a fan-made concept, the real device could easily communicate with the iPhone or any other Apple device using AirDrop protocols. The snap-on feature would probably be just something of a convenience, but I could easily imagine the iStorage as being Apple’s own hard-drive… something that the company hasn’t really ever worked on.

What’s really remarkable about Abdelrahman’s concept is that it also comes in a splash of colors to match your phone. He’s been rather clever in matching the iStorage’s colors with the current iPhone 12 palette, including the new purple color-way as well as Apple’s signature Project RED edition.

While there’s absolutely no chance that Apple’s working on something like this, it’s fun to see what designers come up with. More often than not, they’re indicative of what the consumer actually wants… and I’m pretty sure no consumer wants to pay recurring cloud-storage fees!

Apple Magsafe Accessories designed to fulfill every tech lover’s dream!

Magsafe was reintroduced by Apple and it has been an instant hit! There is a great sense of satisfaction, in my opinion, to have things just stick to your phone. Be it a pair of earphones (maybe that’ll be the next generation of AirPods) or have your phone just conveniently stick to a charging pad – it’s almost like magic! Keeping in mind more MagSafe-loving tech enthusiasts like me, we have curated a list of designs that will help you use the Magsafe functionality to its maximum capability!

I wouldn’t outright call Grovemade old-fashioned, but rather I’d say their work is a confluence of sensibilities and materials. Primarily relying on wood and metal to craft their products, Grovemade’s designs boast of an old-world charm that’s also intertwined with modern minimalism. Take for instance the Wood MagSafe Stand, available in both Walnut and Maple variants. The stand, which sports a wooden halo mounted on a steel base, allows you to slip your iPhone MagSafe wireless charger in, routing the cable from the bottom.

Moment, the Seattle-based accessories company specializing in phone camera gear has created a bunch of iPhone 12 series accessories that inherently have some kind of camera utility. There’s a whole bunch of cases, tripod mounts, and car vent mounts with MagSafe compatibility that add to the functionality of your Apple phone. First up, the cases come in two broader variations – a thinner version for better ergonomic feel in hand and the other, a more rugged one for more protection in event of accidental drops. All these cases have wrist strap loops and can endure a 6-foot drop. The cases priced at around $50 are compatible with the M-Series Moment lens system and they also work with the Moment Mounts. For photography addicts, Moment has a lineup of Tripod Mounts that have a very strong magnetic system for extra strength. These mounts work even without the case and are compatible with ¼-inch to 20-inch tripods, so you are good to go with any tripod.

The return of MagSafe has unleashed the creatives and accessory companies are racing to make the most of this feature. Front of the race is Belkin’s MagSafe Car Vent Mount PRO for iPhone 12 that lets you safely mount your iPhone 12 and keep it in your view – be it landscape or portrait mode. Best of all, the powerful magnet offers a seamless, one-handed use that keeps you driving stress-free!

Moment’s Magsafe friendly case lets you follow your photography enthusiasm without giving up on your other Magsafe Goodies! The wooden casing gives a vintage yet elegant touch to your phone. It’s an accessory that will never go out of style! The design is a convenient way to protect your iPhone 12, and it even works with Qi wireless charging without having to remove the cover.

Vulcan isn’t a replacement for wireless charging but is just a remarkably better cable with truly unique features that are designed to work universally across all your devices. Designed to power everything from your Xbox controller to your laptop, the Vulcan cable comes with the ability to deliver up to 100W of power and connects to your devices using a series of magnetic pins. Just plug these magnetic pins into the charging ports of your devices, and they create an interface for Vulcan to snap to, quite like the MagSafe connectors you’d see in MacBooks from before 2016. Different magnetic pins allow you to connect the same cable to a variety of devices. MicroUSB pins work perfectly for gaming controllers and Bluetooth speakers, while the Lightning pin lets you charge the iPhone and your AirPods.

The Apple MagSafe Charger’s fast wireless charging gadget attaches directly to your iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro. This MagSafe wireless charger speeds up your wireless charging experience. While it’s great for the newer iPhone models, it also works with older phones, too. So if you have anything from an iPhone 8 or newer, you can use it with the Apple MagSafe Charger.

The CLIP is a wireless power bank designed to snap onto the back of your phone either using MagSafe (for newer iPhone models) or using an adhesive clip (for older iPhones and Android devices). In doing so, the device aligns with the smartphone’s wireless charging coil, allowing it to charge the phone’s battery on the fly, without any cables. However, the CLIP doesn’t just add an extra external battery to the back of your phone, it also adds a kickstand that can be used in both landscape and portable formats. A metal component (shaped sort of like a carabiner clip) wraps around the power bank and can be opened out to let you prop your phone vertically or horizontally while it’s charging.

The stand, which sports a wooden halo mounted on a steel base, allows you to slip your iPhone MagSafe wireless charger in, routing the cable from the bottom. It then gives your iPhone 12 a nice, wooden armchair to hang out on, letting you rest it in either landscape or portrait while it charges.

Modeled on the concept of the MagSafe charger, the MagRig works with all Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C devices, which means not only does it bring the magnetic charging port back to the MacBook, it also works with the iPad Pro, most Android phones, the Nintendo Switch, and any device that use a Type-C connector. The two-part adapter attaches itself to both the port as well as the jack, giving you the satisfying magnetic click whenever you plug a device in. The magnetic connection even helps prevent damage caused by accidental cable tugs. Instead of your phone, iPad, or laptop flying right off the table because your dog snagged the wire while running around the house, the MagRig detaches with graceful choreography, keeping your gadgets safe from physical damage.

With a 100% recycled plastic body and a lifetime warranty, the Gomi Wireless Mag Charger helps reduce plastic waste as well as e-waste. UK-based sustainable design studio Gomi first hit the airwaves back in 2019 with its Bluetooth speaker designed entirely out of plastic waste. The company sought to exclusively use non-recyclable plastics (single-use plastic bags, bubble wrap, etc.) that would otherwise be dumped in oceans, sent to landfills, or incinerated. Working together with small businesses, global corporations, and recycling plants, Gomi developed a way to reuse this non-recyclable plastic as a raw material. Using the natural color variation between the different plastic products, the molding process helped create a marbled pattern that was unique to each device, allowing Gomi to effectively recycle the plastic and upscale it into a wonderful product.

The Belkin BOOST↑CHARGE PRO MagSafe 3-in-1 Wireless Charger charges all of your Apple devices in one go! You can use this super fast magnetic stand to charge your iPhone, Airpods and even your Apple Watch simultaneously. Amped with a clean and modern look, this MagSafe accessory provides a wireless charge of up to 15W. Quite fast, no?
