Pixel Cartridge Wallpaper: 1000-in-Wall

Coat your room in nostalgia with Masaaki Enami’s doubly retro wallpaper, which he aptly calls Pixel Cartridge. The wallpaper comes in four panels, each about 67″ wide and 95″ tall, although you can also ask for custom sizes.

I bet half of these are palette-swapped Super Mario Bros. clones. You can order the Pixel Cartridge wallpaper from Japanese store WALLTZ for ¥21,571 (~$197 USD).

Freenter Concept is a Handheld Wallpaper Printing Machine

In this day and age where people can get most things done instantly thanks to technological developments, you’d think that they’d have done something to make home decorating (or redecorating) quicker and less of a pain.

Designers Kim Kwang-hyun, Roh Ga-young, Kim Su-hyun, and Shin Jun-won thought about it, and they decided that something like the Freenter is something that people would need to make the process easier.

Freenter0

Their Freenter envisions a handheld “free printer” that lets users print on virtually any surface in an instant. They don’t expound on the technology behind the concept, but the design is fairly simple. The printer looks like a tablet of sorts with a surface where you can draw, doodle, type, or insert images and patterns of your desired wallpaper design.

Enter the command to print and press the printer onto the wall or surface that you want to print on – and presto! Instant wallpaper.

What do you think? Would you be able to print over old designs when you want to redecorate?

Legend of Zelda Link’s Swords Wallpaper: Take These. All of Them.

Link may have headed out alone for most of his adventures, but he always had his trusty weapons by his side. deviantART member James aka BLUEamnesiac made a huge wallpaper that contains all of the canonical swords, grouped according to the game that they appear in:

The original image has a 3,200 x 2,000 resolution. I chopped some of its parts down so we can appreciate James’ art a bit better. Hardcore fans of the series will see that James slightly tweaked the art of some of the swords, particularly the less ornate ones.

Head to deviantART to see the full size of the wallpaper. And yes, James also compiled all of Link’s shields.

Chrome OS update revamps app list and Google Drive saves, allows relentessly adorable wallpapers

Chrome OS update revamps app list and Google Drive, allows relentessly adorable custom wallpapers

Aw, wouldn't you look at the cute little... wait. Right, there's a Chrome OS update. At its heart, the upgrade to Google's cloud-based platform introduces a streamlined app list that both occupies less space and carries an internet-wide search box. It's also possible to save files directly to Google Drive, and audio can now play through either HDMI or USB. Don't lie to yourself, however: the real reason you'll rush to update your Chromebook today is newly added support for custom wallpapers, which guarantees all-day, everyday viewing of your most favorite dog in the whole wide world. Or at least, a nice change of pace from Google's run-of-the-mill backdrops. Isn't it so sweet?

Mac OS Old School Desktop Would Look Smashing on Retina MacBook Pro

There have been other throwback GUIs in the past, but this one created by the Amsterdam-based art director Ben Vessey looks pretty cool. You can retrofy your modern Mac OS machine thanks to this set of icons and wallpapers.

Ben Vessey was sick with the current trend of making icons shiny, thanks to the overuse of shadows and gradients, so he decided to make his own. He started out making a minimalistic design, but then went into full retro mode by using the style of the original Mac Finder, circa 1984. Then, he made some wallpaper to replicate the original OS ’84 backgrounds.

The Old School interface can be yours for the low, low price of a single tweet or Facebook post. Now that’s what I call a deal!

Protect Your Network Security with Anti Wi-Fi Wallpaper

attachment

Pesky neighbors taking advantage of your wireless internet again? Sometimes even the strongest of passwords won’t help. But now there is a new anti Wi-Fi wallpaper that will stop them from stealing your internets.

Most likely your neighbors already know your password to get onto your Wi-Fi network. (Trust me QWER1234 ...

Anti-Wi-Fi Wallpaper Keeps Nosy Neighbors off Networks

Unless you vary your passwords often, it’s possible that some tech-savvy neighbors have figured out the password to your Wi-Fi home network, and they could be using it to download massive amounts of data, porn and pirated movies, or to snoop on your personal network. Instead of getting caught by the MPAA, it’s probably best to get this anti-Wi-Fi wallpaper to take care of business.

anti wifi wallpaper

This wallpaper has special patterns of silver crystals, which have been placed to block the Wi-Fi frequencies of your router, keeping signals from leaving(or entering) your space. The wallpaper goes on sale in 2013 from Alhstrom, a Finnish company, and it will cost the same as mid-range traditional wallpaper, so you won’t break the bank putting this up in every room. Of course, if you put it up in every room, there’s a good chance you’ll disrupt Wi-Fi inside your own home, so you might just want to stick with exterior walls. It’s probably best used in a commercial setting, like an office building to keep other businesses from hopping on your network.

If don’t like the pattern it comes in, you can cover it up with paint, but I actually think the pattern looks cool. You’ll also have to put this wallpaper up on the ceiling as well as the floor for it to work. Naturally windows are still a problem, so if you don’t live in a basement or a Batcave, you still might be out of luck.
