This robot-powered gaming chair looks so comfy that you might want to sleep on it

We’ve recently seen a rise in gaming chairs that would make your gaming desktop rig cry. To call them a chair might be an understatement, especially since they look more like elaborate, extravagant, and over-the-top lounges outfitted with everything you need to play games and not get up except for bodily necessities. While those chairs almost always advertise gaming comfort, they honestly look more like hard and cold traps designed to keep you from getting up and finishing your games. In contrast, you might never want to get up from this gaming chair concept, but only because it might be too comfortable and too soothing to leave. And to arrive at that kind of experience, the designers took inspiration from the most unlikely source, a supercar like a Lamborghini.

Designers: Ryan Kim, Yaeji Hong, Dongwoo Han

Gaming and cars don’t really have much in common unless you consider the concept of speed that’s associated with both machines. That’s not to say they can’t learn from each other, and cars today are getting more technologically sophisticated, running on powerful computers that might also be found in PCs. The Moiin Robodesk Gaming Chair concept takes the sharing in the other direction, with car aesthetics informing how a gaming chair could harmoniously blend contrasting elements of warmth and cold, comfort and performance.

The chair part of the Moiin, for example, has the same leather materials that Lamborghini would use on the seats of its supercars. While existing gaming chairs do have cushions and soft materials to offer comfort to the gamer, this goes over and beyond the call of duty. And if that weren’t enough, the chair is actually a massage chair that could help soothe those aching backs and shoulders from hours of gaming on end. Not that you should be playing games for hours on end in the first place.

The gaming part isn’t going to be left behind and will easily remind people of the sleek and shiny surfaces of high-end sports cars. LED lights around some edges give it that gamer aesthetic that makes it look equally futuristic, but the polished appearance of the “colder” parts of the setup actually complements the warmer personality of the leather-wrapped chair quite nicely. It’s a harmony of opposites that you’d find so executed so perfectly in sportscars and supercars.

That isn’t the end of the wonders of this gaming machine, though. If that monitor and keyboard stand looks more like a robot arm to you, you aren’t that far off. Rather than burden gamers with having to manually adjust the chair to their comfort, the robotic arm does all the work for them, leaning in and back as needed. It’s the ultimate reclining chair comfort made just as smart and as sophisticated as the gaming machine that it’s running.

Of course, there might be some concerns about whether making gaming too comfortable could lead to an even more sedentary lifestyle. At the same time, gamers might have the worst postures of all computer users, and having a desk and chair combo that not only encourages ergonomics but also adds comfort could at least help give their bodies a bit of a break. Admittedly, Moiin’s aesthetics might not appeal to all gamers, but those that love supercars and the Lamborghini design style might have found heaven in this concept.

If it sort of looks like an angry cobra with its hood flared, ready to strike, know that it’s completely intentional. The Razer Iskur X is yet another addition to the company’s reptile-inspired gaming gear. The ergonomic throne is calibrated for the most comfortable gaming experience, with a durable multi-layered synthetic leather-clad, high-density cushioning, 2D armrests, and fully adjustable recline, tilt, and height. It’s also $399, putting it slightly on the expensive side… although not as expensive as Logitech x Herman Miller’s $1,595 gaming chair.

Called the Rival Rig gaming chair, it is the perfect bridge between the physical world and the virtual world – giving the users a functional sensory input while being utterly comfortable. An ideal proposition for streamers and Esports professionals indeed. The idea is to analyze the player’s movements and adapt to their sitting position for a weightless feeling sans any physical stress during long hours of casual or professional gaming. This adaptive stance leads to sustained performance of the player not limited by physical or mental stress. Rival Rig is embedded with sensors that detect the rise in body temperature and then beam cool air to the particular area. They call it the Microclimate Control System.

This behemoth of a chair is designed for the most comfortable gaming experience, with a race car-style seat with controls that allow you to lean forward, backward, adjust the seat’s height, recliner angle, and leg-rest angle… you know, like a dentist’s chair, but one that gives you a different sort of adrenaline rush. The futuristic scorpion-inspired gaming throne called The Acer Predator Thronos comes with a swiveling keyboard tray and a moving rear arm that holds three high-resolution curved displays practically giving you the power of panoramic vision while gaming.

This coffee table doubles down as a gaming console and it is exactly what we need while staying home in 2021. An homage to retro gaming machines and furniture enthusiasts, this coffee table is one of its kind. Swedish designer Love Hulten has created a slim slide-out console with 2-player arcade joysticks & push-button gaming controls. It is inspired by the old-school gaming arcades and includes the big buttons as well as a joystick that is also a knob for the coffee table. The custom-crafted table features a wireless gaming system that connects with your smart TV for modern yet classic home gaming. With a classic American walnut and brass aesthetic, the table’s form will appeal to most and allow it to blend in any interior style.

Designer Matthew Midir paid homage to CD Projekt’s Night City by bringing its retrofuturistic landscape to a limited edition Couchmaster called CYPUNK. Couchmaster CYPUNK comes decked out with high-tech thermal print panels that feature scenes and props from Cyberpunk’s gamescape like the slick DeLorean DMC-12 parked amongst the neon street lights of Night City. In addition to the Cyberpunk-themed, memory-foam-cushioned siding, Couchmaster CYPUNK comes equipped with an extra source of power, originally made for Couchmaster’s CYCON2, that connects the couch-desk to your PC so that no matter how long or hard you play, the game will operate smoothly without lagging or connectivity issues.

This dope workstation cum gaming rig is designed by Jubilee Furniture, the designer of the popular Hariana Tech Smart Bed – I still wish I could own it somehow, albeit the sky-high price tag of $2,999! Compare the Talon Space Gaming Furniture to the bed (in terms of dollars I’ll have to slash out), and I realize it is just a pipedream. it’s worth a mind-numbing $ 6,799. That said, the sci-fi workstation puts focus on the proper circulation of blood and visceral pressure, to prevent any long-term effects of working on long hours on your PC or gaming. The whole rig is designed in a way to address the constant load on the cervical spine and the lumbar vertebrae. Besides all the health benefits, the functional gaming station boasts a futuristic design making you feel suspended in a space capsule.

BMW Rival Rig gaming chair comes with Adaptive Seating, Micro Climate Control and even massage functions!

Designworks, the design innovation studio for the BMW Group has unveiled their concept for an advanced gaming chair designed to bring an immersive physical experience for the gamers, at the first-ever BMW Esports Boost event. Called the Rival Rig gaming chair, it is the perfect bridge between the physical world and the virtual world – giving the users a functional sensory input while being utterly comfortable. A perfect proposition for streamers and Esports professionals indeed. The idea is to analyze the movements of the player, and with time adapt to their sitting position for a weightless feeling sans any physical stress during long hours of casual or professional gaming. This leads to sustained performance of the player not limited by physical or mental stress.

Rival Rig is embedded with sensors that detect the rise in body temperature and then beam cool air to the particular area. They call it the Microclimate Control System. Likewise, if there is too much pressure on the arms, the armrests lower automatically to eliminate any pressure points – a feature dubbed as the Adaptive Seating made possible with the embedded pneumatic air pads and electro-mechanical actuators. Designworks worked with gamers and athletes to understand body posture and the different actions and moods they are going through during gaming. This resulted in different modes like ease mode for relaxed posture or the boost mode which brings the chair forward and the table lowered and angled for immersive gameplay. The chair also has the massage function to release any stress build-up in the muscles with extended gaming stints. All this in conjunction with the AI-enabled algorithm brings automated control to the chair allowing players to concentrate on their gameplay.

According to Holger Hampf, President of Designworks, the team’s goal was to “create the most comfortable seating, hand posture, and head movement situation, that allow the gamer to fully immerse.” Inspiration for the project came from fields where split-second decisions have to be made – like in spacecraft and Formula 1. Holger Hampf added that they adapted learning from these fields to the microscopic level and it was all about millimeters rather than centimeters,” in design perfection. The led lighting of the chair adapts to the environment of the in-game action for the perfect immersive environment. How the rig is articulating also allows the audience (online and live) to be part of the action – for good bonding between the gaming athletes and spectators.

The gaming chair will be open source for adding new features and also allowing game studios to tailor the in-game experience. It will also aid in collaboration with the right partners to access the health and sports data to design ergonomic chairs of the future. Rival Rig is truly the onset of immersion via the power of design!

This workstation + gaming chair’s zero-gravity position is tailored for the ultimate WFH regime

Accept it or deny, working from home is more or less become a norm in the present and the uncertain future for the new generation of people. Being a professional content creator I can relate with the disadvantages hooked on to constantly working in front of the screen. It can have adverse effects on the body posture and overall well-being if not done right. The Talon Space Working and Gaming Station (All In One Working and Gaming Chair) addresses that in style, comfort, and everything good you can think of while performing your daily tasks. This dope workstation cum gaming rig is designed by Jubilee Furniture, the designer of the popular Hariana Tech Smart Bed – I still wish I could own somehow, albeit the sky-high price tag of $2,999!

Compare the Talon Space Gaming Furniture to the bed (in terms of dollars I’ll have to slash out), and I realize it is just a pipedream. it’s worth a mind-numbing $ 6,799. The whole rig is designed in a way to address the constant load on the cervical spine and the lumbar vertebrae.  Besides all the health benefits, the functional gaming station boasts a futuristic design making you feel suspended in a space capsule. The key here is the zero gravity recliner crafted to suspend your body in a natural posture – the feet elevated in alignment with the heart for weightless sensation. This aids in relaxation and relieving all the tension developing in the muscles during the course of work. Of course, it has the in-built hip massage and heating function too in the chair.

Juicing up your gadgets won’t be a bother in this gaming workstation courtesy of the USB ports on the elliptical base located on the armrests. For gaming goodness, the ergonomic chair has Bluetooth surround sound speakers located on both sides and triple panoramic LED screens. This former bit is also good for music lovers who listen to their favorite focus music during creative curations – just like me!

The chair’s contoured design is pretty reminiscent of a hooded snake in its striking position. To reinforce the reptilian references, the chair even comes with a snake-inspired weave on the seat, along with Razer’s signature black + acid green colorway. Given that gaming can be a day-long endeavor and that ardent gamers can spend hours in their seats without so much as shifting, the Iskur X comes with padded high-density foam cushions that contour to the shape of your body, for maximum comfort. The synthetic leather used on the Iskur X comes with a coating of resin too, making it much more durable in the long run. The chair sports a steel-reinforced body for strength and can take up to 299 lbs (136 kilograms) of weight without breaking a sweat… and a neat 3-year warranty on the chair should serve well, considering how much time you’ll be spending in it.

The Acer Predator Thronos is the prequel to ‘Ready Player One’ gaming equipment

While this isn’t as immersive as snapping on a VR headset and walking on an omni-directional treadmill while wearing a haptic feedback suit, the Acer Predator Thronos is halfway there at the least. This behemoth of a chair is designed for the most comfortable gaming experience, with a racecar-style seat with controls that allow you to lean forward, backward, adjust the seat’s height, recliner angle, and leg-rest angle… you know, like a dentist’s chair, but one that gives you a different sort of adrenaline rush.

RGB lighting on the outside allows you to customize the look of the chair, but only to a certain degree because there’s little you can do to take away the Predator Thronos’ badboy demeanor from it. The Thronos comes with Acer’s top-of-the-line Orion 9000 desktop, giving you the latest Intel processors and NVIDIA graphics, so you can quite literally game like a god. Just promise us you won’t play Angry Birds on this bad-boy.

Game of Thrones Gaming Chairs: GoT Lumbar Support

Game of Thrones is nearing the end of its final season, and if you missed any of the episodes so far, it’s safe to read this. HBO and Secret Lab have teamed up to bring gamers a series of Game of Thrones themed chairs.

There are three designs, each with house sigils on them: Stark, Lannister, or Targaryen. If you look closely, you can see the house words appear on the top edge of the seat back as well. They can be had in Secret Lab’s Titan or Omega chair varieties. Both chairs have tilt, directional armrests, and cold-cured foam for comfort and support. The Titan has fully adjustable lumbar support, and the Omega has a memory foam lumbar pillow.

I think the red and black Targaryen design is the coolest of the bunch. The Omega special edition chair is selling for $389, while the Titan is $429. They’re available for pre-order now from Secret Lab. If you have some really deep pockets, you can complete your Game of Thrones themed desk with a really fancy pen.

Star Wars Gaming Chairs: For The Dark Side of Your Backside

If the Dark Side played video games, these would be the chairs that they would sit their evil butts in. You can sit your butt in them too, regardless of which side of The Force you’re aligned with. Whether you are playing Star Wars Battlefront or watching the original trilogy, now you can do it in style.

These comfy looking Darth Vader and Stormtrooper Gaming Chairs are for fans who want to show off their love for all things Star Wars. The curvy, low-to-the-ground seats feature a plywood and hardwood frame with polyurethane, PVC, and polyester upholstery over a cotton cushion with foam fill. They each have four built-in speakers, Bluetooth 4.1 technology for wireless audio streaming, a control panel, and an audio output and audio input jacks.

They will cost you $335 each from PBTeen. Not bad for an Imperial chair. I would get both because Vader should always have a Stormtrooper sitting around to do his bidding. Obviously, these chairs are for serious Star Wars fans only, given the price and the fact that these are huge Star Wars toys to have in your home. I would love to get both.
