Harry Potter Envelope Wallet: Hogwarts Acceptance Leather

I’m always amazed at how creative Etsy artists can be. And while I’m not a huge Harry Potter fan, I know that those of you who are, will love this envelope/wallet.

Etsy seller Tobacco Pouch created this cool leather Harry Potter purse and they didn’t even use magic to do it. This wallet is based on Harry Potter’s acceptance letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. That’s the good news for you Harry Potter fans.

The bad news is that it has already sold. But we have more good news. The seller makes all kinds of similar items, like wallets with map designs from Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones and more.

‘Snail Mail My Email: From Inbox to Mailbox

Getting a letter in the mail brings upon a wave of emotion that doesn’t quite compare to what you feel when you get a new message in your inbox. This is something San Francisco artist Ivan Cash is well aware of, so he came up with the Snail Mail My Email project back in 2011 where he basically wrote and sent out emails people sent in to their intended recipients.

Eventually the project became so huge that Ivan had to enlist the help of volunteers to write the letters. The project is now an annual week-long event where anyone can send in an email that they want the team to turn into a one-of-a-kind letter.

You can find more info on the project here. They were planning on accepting emails through today, but a team of 390 volunteers already sent out over 7,000 letters, so they stopped accepting submissions early. Oh well, maybe next year.

Type Your Letter, and ‘Snail Mail My Email’ Will Write and Send It For You

Snail Mail My Email

There’s just something about snail mail that makes it mean more than an email or instant message. By “it,” we don’t mean just the message, but the whole thing in general. I suppose a lot more effort goes into writing a letter and taking the time to mail it out versus typing it up and hitting the “send” button.

San Francisco artist Ivan Cash gets that a letter is often more than just a letter to the recipient. So in 2011, he started the Snail Mail my Email project where he invited people to shoot him an email, which he would then write and mail to the intended recipient for free. The project has since evolved into a week-long event where hundreds of people volunteer to write letters sent in by people from all over the world.

This year’s event ends on November 16th, so you’ve got a couple more days to get your letter written and sent off by the team. Head on over to the Snail Mail my Email website if you want to join in on the fun.
